Octachel (Octavian + Rachel)
(A/N - This is basically continued from the first Octachel one shot since I couldn't come up with another idea at the moment >.< sorry)
After Rachel moved in to New Rome, and she'd given Octavian a kiss on each cheek, he couldn't seem to keep his eyes off of her. It was worse than when he first met her when the Romans had been planning to invade her camp. At that time, he'd been too drunk on the power he had over the Romans. Now, when everything was back to normal and he became a slightly better person, and with nothing to distract him, she was all that crossed his mind.
Every love song seemed to be about her. Everything she did, was the cutest thing to him. Her fiery red hair glowed under the sun like fire and he loved that. Her green eyes were like sparkling emeralds. Her smile was bright and genuine. The way she showed her love about art and how she always wore paint splattered clothes was endearing. The freckles spread across her nose reminded him of the stars and he just couldn't keep his eyes off her. But he couldn't approach her either. Not after he blushed when she kissed his cheeks.
So Octavian shook his head and tried for the millionth time to clear his head of her as he walked to New Rome's library. But of course it didn't work. He scowled. How was getting someone out of your mind so hard? It really couldn't take that much. He stopped to focus on thinking about something other than Rachel. And the worst part? She was Greek! Well, technically. She'd been with the Greeks. As he thought about that, someone tapped his shoulder from behind. He turned.
It was her.
She smiled.
Octavian almost couldn't keep in check the smile he wanted to release from having her smile at him. His ears felt hot.
"Have you been avoiding me?" She asked and tilted her head back a little to look up at him. He was annoyingly tall.
He scoffed, "Of course not. Why would you think that?" But he had been. He wasn't about to admit that though.
Her smile turned into a smirk, "Because I kissed you on the cheek a month ago. And whenever I came near you, you'd hurriedly walk away. I also haven't spoken to you since then. Any logical person would know you were avoiding me."
He pretended he didn't know what she was talking about. "I have no clue what you're going on about."
Her smirk never faltered. "Whatever helps you sleep at night but you do know you're going to have to take me out for dinner either way right? I'm not waiting around for you to ask me anymore."
His eyes widened, "What?"
She took a step back, "You think I haven't noticed your staring?"
"I wasn't--" The blush he'd been fighting to keep back was finally displayed on his cheeks.
"I can't say I haven't been staring once in a while too though."
"I--you--I--"
"Pick me up at seven. You already know where I live." She walked away, leaving him standing there. He was completely dumbfounded.
Although, sooner rather than later, Octavian realized what had just transpired and hurried away to get ready for his first date with Rachel. He had a feeling it wouldn't be their last.
