"Who-?" Nico looked up at the beautiful girl looking down at him. Who the hell was this lady?

"I'm Calypso." She patted his hair back. "I've been looking over you for the past week."

Nico tried to sit up but a wave of dizziness forced him back down, he groaned before asking the next question burning in his mind. "How did I get here? Last thing I remembered the monster..."

"Magic. You were hurt and wounded. So you were brought here for me to look over you."

Nico shook his head, "I need to go." He tried getting up again but a dizzy spell hit him again.

Calypso gently nudged him back on the sheets, "Don't try to get up, you're still not completely healed."

Nico didn't care, he had to get back, he had to keep searching for ways to bring back his sister. "I have to go."

"Please," she said, pleading, "I don't want you to open your wound. You need to get better."

Nico faltered, it was true that hurt, he couldn't do much and if monsters hurt him and he died, he wouldn't be much help to his sister dead. So he grumbled, "Fine," and snuggled in the sheets. It wasn't long before he was asleep again.

When Nico awoke the second time, Calypso was only nearing his bed. He sat up and rubbed his temples.

"Oh, you're awake." Calypso smiled. "I have some soup for you."

"Oh... Thank you."

Calypso only smiled and gave him the bowl of soup. He ate it quickly. She sat next to him and watched him eat the soup in under 10 seconds. She didn't even get the words, "Careful it's hot" out of her mouth before he finished. He hadn't realized how famished he was.

As he set the bowl down, she smiled. "Would you like some more?"

He shook his head, "No, thanks."

After that, they spent a week together. Calypso showed him how to care for her plants. He a tree with her every day, he felt bad for her. She deserved some company while she had it. Nico tried his best to be pleasant. She wasn't a bad person so he didn't have to try so hard. And when he was better and it was time for him to go, she was sad to see him go.

The raft appeared and she gave him a small box of food and his clothes, repaired. " You were a great friend to have around, Nico." A cloud passed over her eyes, not angry and not quite sad... But hurt. He wondered why she would be hurt.

"Thank you, for everything." he turned to board the raft. But she stopped him.

"Wait, Nico." She took a hold of his wrist. "...Stay..."

He smiled, trying to let her down easy. "I have to go Calypso, you were a great friend too." But she didn't let go of his wrist yet.

"The raft only appears when I've fallen in love with the one who has to leave. If you stayed, you would be immortal, living forever. We'd be in peace. The troubles you have in the world out there, can't reach you here. You could be happy... With me."

Nico was shocked, but he managed to reply, blushing. "Calypso I um, I don't-I don't like women."

It surprised Nico that she didn't look surprised, "I had to try right?" She finally let go. "Goodbye Nico."

He nodded, waved and boarded the raft. He sailed away without looking back.
