The Legion's Eagle
Percy was dripping with sweat. He hadn't fought this hard since...well, he couldn't remember. But the extreme use of his power was draining his energy. He wasn't sure he could back Frank and Hazel while they battles Alcyoneus and freed Thanatos.
It was then that the boy came up. He approached Percy with a familiar aura, but Percy couldn't exactly place where he'd felt it before. As the boy came face to face with him, Percy realized.
"A relative of Janus..." Percy muttered, staring at the boy. He wore a purple Camp Jupiter shirt.
"Yes. I'm Michael Varus, son of Janus, and I won't let you take my Legion's eagle," The boy, Michael, said suddenly, pulled out a ghostly golden sword. He slowly stepped towards Percy.
Percy shook his head. "This eagle must go back to Camp Jupiter! Who do you think you are, trying to keep it?"
"The previous Praetor. I died once protecting it, and I'd do it again," Michael said confidently. Percy recalled someone telling him about the old Praetor at camp. He'd tried to decipher the Prophesy of Seven too early, and he'd ended up dying and losing the Legion's eagle.
"It's time for the Prophesy of Seven to start now," Percy explained, pointing Riptide at Michael. "And so the eagle must go back to Camp Jupiter to help them against battles in the future." Without waiting for a reply, Percy dove at Michael.
For a dead guy, Michael could fight. Percy conjured a chaotic storm and swung deadly swipes at Michael, but he still put up a good fight. Much of it was a blur to Percy, but he remembered the end.
The two were pushing their deadly weapons against each other, one of then about to fall to the ground. Percy was about to lose his grip on Riptide when Luke Castellan's words of wisdom came back to him. He pushed hard, and Michael Varus' sword clattered to the ground. Michael looked stunned.
"How did you..." he started to say, but was cut off when Riptide smashed through his gut, dissipating him.
From The Son of Neptune. Sorry if it was kind of lame.
