Chapter 55

(Just want to address this:

I haven't watched Far From Home, I haven't seen any spoilers. Pls don't tell me a spoiler, thx)

Annabeth's pov:

"Hey Percy." I said, opening the door.

He smiled, blushing a little. "Sorry I was a bit late, Jason wanted to talk with me."

I shrugged. "Just as long as you don't bail on me, that's fine."

Percy furrowed his eyebrows. "Bail on you? Who would want to bail on you?"

I laughed. "A lot of people apparently," he was about to say something, but I cut him off. "But it doesn't matter anyway. Let's just go watch the film."

. . .

"What do you mean the cinema is closed?" I asked the guy at the front.

"Sorry ma'am, some man is using it for a 'get together'." To be honest, even he sounded annoyed.

"The whole bloody cinema?" I asked, crossing my arms and glaring.

The man nervously carried on. "Payed us a lot of money, sorry. We have another venue a couple of miles away from here."

Percy sighed. "Thanks for the information."

I glared at the floor. "What kind of a person books out the whole cinema?"

Percy's smile wavered. "Yeah well, we could do something else."

I thought for a second, then declined. "Nah, let's-"

Percy's eyes widened. "Did I do something wrong?" He said, "is that why you don't want to do anything else? Oh Gods, I messed-"

I punched him lightly on the arm. "No Seaweed Brain, I'm saying we can just sit down and talk."

He visibly relaxed. "Oh right, I knew that."

I raised an eyebrow. "Sure you did."

He laughed. "Hey! Not everyone is as clever as you, Wise Girl."

I smiled. "Now, which route shall we take?"

"I don't know, the one we're on?" He said bluntly.

"You never know," I muttered teasingly.

"I'm going to pretend you didn't say that," he said. "Now come on, I think I saw a coffee shop a few metres (yards? Idk) back. Let's go there."

I thought for a while. "Yeah sure, why not?"

"So . . ."

"So what?" Percy asked.

"So why were you and the others so late? It was just me, Piper and Leo that day, we were waiting for ages."

"Oh," he nervously laughed. "Teacher kept us in, apparently we were talking too loud."

I shrugged. "Doesn't mean he has to give you detention."

"It does once Thalia swore at him."

I paused, smiling. "Did she actually?"

"Yes, yes she did." Even Percy couldn't keep a straight face.

"He practically blew up in a rage, and he gave us all detention." Percy said.

I laughed. "That's something Thalia would do."

"Hey!" He said, "that's not funny. The fan was not on, the windows weren't open. We were practically dying."

I rolled my eyes. "You're really dramatic."

"No, you're just really boring."

"Boring? I have you know that I am the complete opossite of that word, actually."

Percy threw his arms up. "See? That last sentence was boring for goodness sake."

I noticed we had made it to the coffee shop, a small shop with a few tables and chairs neatly placed on the wooden floor. In other words, it was great.

I grabbed Percy's arm, pulling him towards the direction of the shop. "Come on, we need to eat. I'm exhausted."

Percy rolled his eyes, then muttered, "she calls me dramatic."

. . .

"So how was it?" Piper asked, lying on her couch with a bag of chips.

"It was nice, though I won't be telling you the details," I told her. "You tell me you're a tomboy, yet you ask me about the date."

Piper scoffed. "Even Thalia would want to know."

I laughed. "She actually would, though." I grabbed a chip from Piper's bag, causing her to glare.

"I invited the others," Piper blurted out.

I furrowed my eyebrows. "All of them?"

"Yeah, Percy, Leo, Jason, Frank, Hazel, Thalia, Grover, Juniper, Nico and I think Jason is bringing a friend with him."

"A friend?" I raised my eyebrow.

"Yeah, just some girl he used to be friends with." I noticed Piper looked worried.

"Hey, what's wrong?"

"Oh I don't know, the fact that Jason's bringing along a girl, who might I add is his best friend." Her face was red.

I got up from where I was sitting, and looked at Piper dead straight in the eyes. "Hey, Jason is not that kind of person. That girl probably has a boyfriend or something," Piper looked up. "And anyway, I'll beat the crap out of him if he hurts you." Piper laughed. "I'm serious though, remember when those idiots laughed at Hazel and I kicked them where the sun doesn't shine? Yeah, I'll do that to Jason if he isn't loyal."

Piper smiled. "Thanks, I was starting to get worried."

"You're welcome, and an-"

The doorbell rang, and I got up to answer it. "Hello?" I called.

"Open the door, Annie." I rolled my eyes at Thalia's choice of words.

I reluctantly opened it, then crossed my arms at Thalia. "Don't call me Annie, you know that."

Thalia smiled, walking past me. "I know, but that doesn't mean I have to listen."

I groaned, then turned towards the others. "Hey guys." They all said hey, coming inside Piper's house.

"Piper, they're here!" I called out for her.

Piper came walking over to me, smiling at the others. "Come on, let's talk."

. . .

"So, what's your name?" I asked the girl sitting next to Jason. I noticed she hadn't said much.

Piper was sitting very close to Jason. As if trying to tell her, he's mine. The girl either didn't know or didn't seem to care.

"My name's Reyna." She said, her black hair flowing as she spoke. "And you are?"

"Annabeth." I said. She smiled at me, a little tense yet still friendly.

"So, since we got someone new here, let's play a game."

We all groaned. Of course, Leo was going to pick-

"Truth or dare, let's play!"

"We always pick that game," Percy contradicted.

Leo shrugged. "I like the game."

"You also like to see us heavily embarrassed." Nico muttered.
