Chap 57
Annabeth's pov:
"How are you not jealous?" Piper asked me for about the tenth time.
I shrugged. "I don't really care, just as long as she doesn't just pop out of nowhere and comes into our school or something."
Piper laughed. "Now that would be a nightmare."
"Sure would," I said, downing a cup of water.
"But like, what if she does come to our school?"
"Why would she though?" I asked.
"I don't know, to see Leo or something?"
"She'd be there for Leo, and I doubt Percy would say anything." I said.
Piper smiled. "Yes, he would. He'd start blubbering in front of her."
I threw a pillow at Piper. "Is that supposed to make me feel better or something?"
Piper laughed. "Sorry! But I know Percy, he'll do something stupid."
"I know Percy too, and I know that he'll-" I sighed. "Scratch that, he'll do something stupid."
"And then I'll become jealous, Leo will become angry. Calypso would be- I don't know what she'll be- happy? Anyways, Percy would probably be wondering 'oh no! What did I do?', and then I'll break up with him and . . . ugh, Calypso will be the end of me."
"Or." Piper said. "Percy will do nothing, and Calypso will be okay with Leo. Or Calypso won't even come to our school, one hundred percent she won't."
I laughed. "You just jinxed it."
"Annabeth, you're not 6 years old." Piper put her hands on her hips. "Calypso is not coming to our school, one hundred and ten percent."
"And if she does?"
"If she does, you'll have nothing to worry about."
. . .
"We have a new student, everyone." Mr. Blofis said. "Please be nice to- I'm sorry what was your name again?"
"Calypso." She said, eyeing a particular boy.
My face paled, and I sent a look to Piper. She bit her lip, and looked back at me too.
"I told you that you jinxed it!" I whisper- shouted at her.
Piper cast worried glances at Calypso. "I'm sure Percy won't do anything."
Unfortunately, I decided to sit at the back with Piper so we could talk. That meant Percy sitting next to Jason- and an empty seat on the other side.
"You can sit next to Percy Jackson, he's the boy over there." Mr. Blofis pointed to him.
I mentally cursed myself. Of course I had to pick the one day in which Calypso comes to not sit next to Percy. Talk about bad timing.
Percy was too busy just staring at her, yet I only saw it once, for I was too busy staring at the ground so no one could see my red face.
"You okay?" Piper asked me, noticing Percy's fixated stare at Calypso's face. Jason looked shocked too, sending worried glances at me.
"Can I go to the toilet please?" I put my hand up, sending a desperate glance at the teacher.
"But, class ju-"
"Thanks." I left the classroom, going to the toilet to fix my red face.
"What are you doing here?" I turned around, only to find Thalia staring at me.
"Thalia, are you seriously bunking?"
"No, I'm just waiting for class to end. Then I'm going to come back at lunch and pretend I was there the whole time, but I asked you first. What are you doing here?"
I sighed. "Problems."
"Problems? You want to talk about it?"
I nodded. "Calypso is here."
Thalia raised an eyebrow. "As in Calypso who used to date Percy?"
"Yeah, the one that Percy couldn't keep his eyes off of in class today!" I shouted.
"Woah woah woah, everyone can hear you shouting, pipe it down a little."
"Everyone can hear me?"
Thalia nodded.
"That's good then, because then everyone can hear how much of an oblivious idiot Percy is being today!" I shouted out the last bit, cupping my mouth for added effect.
"Was he actually staring at her?" Thalia asked, sympathy clear on her face.
"Yeah, he was practically drooling over her." My voice was bitter.
"I sound like a jealous brat, don't I?" I sighed, looking in the mirror to see my crimson red face.
"You kind of do. But it doesn't matter, you're allowed to. You're Percy's girlfriend, you should be the one that Percy is drooling over. Not Calypso."
I then realised something. "Oh Gods, what about Leo?"
"Leo?" Thalia asked. "I sense a fight happening."
I sighed. "I thought we were done with drama. Don't you think we deserve a nice peaceful life for once?"
"I know, Annabeth. But come on, you gotta go. I'm pretty sure your teacher will think you have constipation if you stay here any longer."
I laughed. "I guess it's time for me to go, and thanks Thalia. I needed to talk."
"You're welcome, and if you ever need to punch someone, please do tell."
"Bye!" I called out, as I left the toilet.
I walked back into the classroom, noticing the stares people were giving me.
"Annabeth Chase, that was one long toilet break." Mr. Blofis laughed.
I blushed when the class laughed. "Uh yeah, I'll be sitting down now."
"What were you doing there?" Piper asked me, though I'm pretty sure she already knew the answer.
I wasn't looking at Percy though, didn't want to see him cozying up to her.
"Is he still looking at her?" I asked.
"No, they're talking and laughing."
"Great, just great!" I shouted, unaware that we were in a class.
"Annabeth, are you okay?" Mr. Blofis asked, sending me a look.
"Oh yes, I'm fine. Peachy, in fact." My sarcastic voice gave it away.
"You don't sound okay . . ." Mr. Blofis carried on, arching an eyebrow.
Truth be told, I wasn't jealous. I wasn't jealous of her beautiful almond eyes, or the fact that the dress she wore looked like something a Greek would have, yet she looked absolutely amazing in it! And I definitely wasn't jealous over the fact that her hair was neatly brushed and caressed down her side, while mine was an absolute pigs nest.
I was not jealous, definitely not. Nope, not at-
Who am I kidding? I'm super jealous.
"Ok then people, I want you to be in groups of 3! C'mon, go and get sorted." Mr. Blofis called out whilst writing on the board.
I internally smiled. In our groups of 3, it was always me, Percy and Grover. That's how it always was- and I didn't like change.
Me and Grover both got up and walked over to Percy's seat, but then I frowned. Calypso wasn't getting of that seat- my seat.
"Hey, this is my seat. You have to move." I told her, crossing my arms.
Her smile wavered. "I don't know anyone here."
"Well then, this is a good time to make new friends."
Calypso then shot her hand up. "Sir, is it alright if one of them in Percy's group moves? I don't know anyone here, only him."
"Okay then, Annabeth go over to Piper and Jason please."
I turned over to sir, mouth agape. "But this is where I always sit. Tell Calypso to go over to them."
"Are you saying you don't want to sit next to Piper or Jason?" The teacher asked.
I sighed. "I'm not saying that, I'm saying that it's better if Calypso moves and I sit here. This is where I sit, and no one else. For her to just waltz in and take my seat- well that's just unfair isn't it?" I was rambling, horribly rambling and most of the class could tell I was severely jealous.
Well except for Percy of course, he's too busy staring at Calypso's face.
"Ooh, is Annabeth jealous?" A person from the front of the class shouted, resulting in some of the class sniggering.
"Shut up!" I shouted, making sure no one could see my red face.
"You know what? I'll go over to Piper and Jason, because I'm the only person kind enough to actually move! Not you Grover- you're amazing. Is there something on Calypso's face? Is that why you're staring at her, Percy?" I shouted this, causing the whole class to finally do what they're told and shut up.
I walked over to Piper and Jason, ignoring the stares and whispers from the rest of the class.
"Hello guys, let's start with our project." I said, smiling to show I wasn't a mad woman.
"Annabeth? Your whole face is red." Jason pointed out to me once the class had stopped with being silent.
"I know. Already had one toilet break, can't go for another one can I?" I said, laying my head onto the table.
Piper patted my head, causing me to laugh. "It's okay. Jason will have a word with him at break."
I sighed, getting up. "But I don't want someone to tell Percy what he is doing, I want him to find out himself."
"You sure about that? I know I can talk some sense into that boy." Jason jokingly said.
I smiled. "Sure of it."
. . .
The day had gone worse and worse, that wretched boy hadn't even come up to me at school this whole day, and school was now finished.
We were all walking back home. Leo sending glares at Percy's way, Percy not knowing or caring and Calypso casually speaking to him like as if he was her boyfriend.
"I can't stand it anymore. You guys getting annoyed of this too?" I asked everyone else.
They all nodded. "I'm going to go speak to him." I said.
The others all gave me skeptical glances. "Promise you won't hurt him?" Piper said.
I sighed. "I'll try not to, but it will be very hard.
Piper laughed, then nodded over to Percy and Calypso. "Go, have a talk." She said.
I left them, going the adjacent way so I could catch up to Percy and the boyfriend stealer. "Hey, wait up!" I said as I reached them.
They stopped, and turned towards me. "Oh hey, what's your name again?" Calypso asked.
"It's Annabeth, and Percy I need to speak to you." I ignored Calypso's confused stare and glanced at Percy.
"You can say it in front of Calypso, you know?" Percy frowned, tensing a little as my glare intensified.
"Are you serious?" I whispered, looking down at the ground. "All you've been doing is staring at Calypso's oh so beautiful face. Have you forgotten that you have a girlfriend?" I shouted, not caring that Calypso was right next to me.
"I wasn't staring at her!" Percy contradicted.
"Well, your eyes said otherwise!"
"Wait," Calypso said. "You have a girlfriend?"
I laughed bitterly. "Oh, so he hasn't told you?" I asked. "Oh course he has a girlfriend- and that girlfriend is me, okay?!" I felt the hot tears tumbling down my face. "But I guess you haven't noticed since all he's been doing is looking at you!"
"Annabeth, you're crying." Percy said.
"I'm not! It's the rain." I sobbed, not even caring that people were watching.
"It's not raining." Calypso bluntly said.
"It is, okay?" I pushed past them, walking over to the others.
"Oh Gods, Annabeth are you okay?" Hazel asked, coming to give me a hug.
I sighed, "it didn't go as planned. It definitely didn't go as planned."
"Do you want to talk about it now?" Thalia asked.
"The damn girl didn't even now that I'm his girlfriend. She had to know from asking me! Do you know how low that makes you feel?" I questioned to no one in particular.
"I suspect he'll be breaking up with me tomorrow. Or even today through text."
"Oh no no no, Percy might be an oblivious cow sometimes, but I assure you he is not breaking up with you." Jason said.
I ran my hands through my hair. "She's so pretty." I muttered to myself.
No matter how many times my friends assured me, I already knew it was over. Percy would do something g stupid, and he would break up with me, and I'll spend the last four days crying in the bathroom eating chocolate ice cream.
And I'll be back to being the old Annabeth Chase, the one who kept her feelings bottled up.
So very sorry if this isn't good for you wonderfully amazing readers. If you read my announcement, wattpad deleted my chapter. Literally wrote this in like 2 hours- not my best work lol.
