Chap 56

Annabeth's pov:

The game went on longer than we expected.

"Hey Reyna, truth or dare." I asked the newcomer.

To be honest, that girl was fierce. She didn't pick a truth the whole time, and I was ready to use it to my advantage.

"Dare, Chase." She told me, eyes narrowed.

"I dare you to go to the first stranger you see, and hug them." I told her.

The others started laughing, thinking that Reyna wouldn't do this. We didn't have any penalty for anyone not wanting to a dare, only you'd be shamed for chickening out.

"Ok, then."

She walked out of the house, and we all ran to the window, looking to see Reyna embarrass herself.

Some poor random man was walking past Piper's house. Reyna immediately walked over to him, and quickly hugged him. Without waiting to see his reaction, she left, back inside Piper's house.

I, on the other hand, stayed to see the man's shocked face. He just stood there, mouth wide as he wondered why the hell she would hug him. Obviously out of fright, he ran past Piper's house without a word.

I had never laughed so much in ages.

"Oh Gods, you actually did it!" I laughed, hand on my chest.

Reyna laughed too, her face a bit red. "I'll never back out of a dare," she said. "Now it's your turn, Annabeth."

"What?" I asked. "But I asked you, shouldn't you go ask someone else?"

Leo smiled, "Are you saying you don't want to do it?"

I glared at him. "I did not imply that, it's just unfair."

"Life's unfair," Piper contradicted. "Now get on with the dare."

I huffed, though I didn't argue. "Now, what do you pick? Truth or dare." Reyna said, smiling mischievously.

"Umm . . . dare!" I said, to be honest, I found truths more embarassing, though no one needed to know that.

"First of all, do you have an enemy? Like someone you hate at school." Reyna asked.

"That's easy! It's Drew, we all hate that barbie." Thalia said.

"Yeah, her." I told Reyna, though something told me that this wasn't going to end well.

"I dare you to call her in front of us 'by accident', and start talking bad about her to us." Reyna said. The others gasped, not sure if I could do it.

"Woah woah woah, Reyna we're talking about Drew here, Drew Tanaka."

Reyna shrugged, "A dare is a dare."

I sighed, "Why did I agree to do this?"

Percy noticed me worried, "Hey, you know you don't have to?"

I shrugged, "Reyna did her dare, it's only fair if I do mine."

Piper passed my phone to me, and I went on to Drew's contact. If only I had deleted that blasted girl's contact, then I could actually have a valid excuse of not doing the dare.

I called her, waiting for her to answer. Suprisingly, she answered quite fast for a girl who's supposed to hate my guts.

"Um . . . who is this?" Right. She deleted my contact.

I ignored her, following Reyna's dare. "Hey, you know Drew is super ugly?" I shouted, ensuring she could hear.

"And her makeup, oh my gods she claims that it's expensive but it looks like she put her lipstick on with my brother's colouring pens."

"Annabeth, is that you?" She sounded mad.

I quickly ended the call, smiling a little. "That wasn't half bad."

"Only because you ended the call before we could hear her reaction." Jason said.

I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, so we could hear her scream like a bird."

. . .

"Bye!" I called out to the others as they left and I closed the doors.

I fell onto the couch. "I'm tired," I said to no one on particular.

"I'm hungry," Piper said, falling onto the couch as well.

"Want to watch a movie?" I blurted out, to be honest I just wanted to sleep and watching movies always did the job.

"Yeah, sure."

We watched Doctor Strange for about an hour and a half, before I received a message.

You know who it is, Annie. Just so you know, I found out what you said about me. Don't think I forgot about your little secret.

I cursed out loud in rage. "What happened?" Piper asked, immediately sitting up.

"I just got a cut on my finger, no worries."

Piper raised an eyebrow, "A cut from what?"

"Does it matter?" I laughed, trying to hide the anger from my voice.

Piper shrugged, and glued her eyes back to the film, clearly interested in watching Doctor Strange consult Dormammu.

I felt my eyes drooping, and the area getting fuzzy as I finally fell asleep.

. . .

"Wake up, you bum!" Piper shouted, shaking me senseless.

I got up, mad at Piper's way of 'waking people up'. "Oh Gods, what's the time?"

Piper shrugged. "I don't know, I just woke up so I thought I might as well do the same to you."

I groaned, falling back onto the couch. "Piper! It could be six am for all you know."

"Eh, I made breakfast."

I got up again, too awake to fall back to asleep. Making my way to the dining room, I instantly smelt the vanilla scent of waffles.

"You made waffles today?" I asked, though the plate of said item on the table already told me the answer.

"Yes, now eat. Took me a long time to make."

I arched an eyebrow, noticing a waffle making kit. "You didn't even bake them."

Piper didn't respond back, too engrossed on her phone. "Hey, you know the school is hosting a dance?"

I laughed, "And why would that concern me?"

"You're going though, right?" She asked.

I shrugged. "Probably . . . umm . . . yeah, I'm going."

"So do you have a dress?" Piper asked, honestly, it felt like we were playing 21 questions.

"No, I don't have a dress. Percy hasn't asked me yet."

Piper frowned. "Neither has Jason."

"Yeah well, I'm sure Jason will ask you tomorrow or something."

Piper smiled, "And when do you think Percy is going to ask you?"

I shrugged. 'I don't really care if I go or not. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate dances, I just think of them as irrelevant."

Piper laughed, sending me to laugh as well.

Right there and then, laughing about who knows what, I almost forgot about my problem with Drew.

Almost.

. . .

"You'd like to go to the dance?" Percy asked me.

"Of course I would, but it took you long enough." I teased him, playfully punching him on the arm.

"Hey," he said. "I didn't want to ask you with like a massive band behind me belting out your favourite song or something, that's just weird."

I raised an eyebrow. "And when has that happened before, Seaweed Brain?"

He shrugged, "I don't know, movies?"

I sighed. "Life is nothing like a movie, you know."

He smiled at me. "What, so now you're going to start lecturing me on reality?"

I made a face. "Oh Gods no, I'd rather not. I've had enough life lessons from Mr. Blofis the whole time I've visited your apartment."

"Now come on, let's go back to the others. They probably think we're doing something." I said.

"We are doing something, we're talking." He told me as we walked back.

"You know what I meant." I turned around towards him, giving him a small peck on the lips (so sorry guys, but I hate writing fluff, I love percabeth and all, but it's just *shudders*).

"Are you guys done now? We're trying to eat here." Leo fake gagged.

I rolled my eyes. "You're only saying that because you're single."

Leo laughed. "Actually, I might not be in a couple of days."

"What?" I asked, kind of curious.

"I met this girl in the park. Destroyed her flowers, you know, the usual. Kind of liked her, she hated me. Started to decrease, and badda bing, badda boom. Managed to gain my first kiss and first date."

Piper smiled. "Well done Leo, now you'll stop pestering the other girls."

"I don't do that." Leo argued, though we all knew it was to no avail.

Leo Valdez had hit on every single girl he had managed to converse in in over four minutes. He actually had a thing for Thalia- until he realised she would kill him in more ways than one if he dared so much as to flirt with her. Basically, Leo was a desperate boy.

"What's her name?" I asked, curious to know who had managed to actually flirt back to the crazed latino.

"Calypso, she's amazing." I nodded to his answer, though I was too busy watching Percy's face litter with unfavourable emotions to say anything.

"Calypso?" He asked. "As in Calypso with brown hair, used to always wear a white dress. Likes to garden, Calypso?"

Leo nodded warily. "Yeah, why'd you need to know though, did you used to date her?"

Percy gulped. "Yeah, used to date her. I then left her for reasons, and we kind of just broke apart."

Leo's face shifted with anger. "As in, you're the dude who miraculously broke her heart?"

Percy stood up from the bench he chose to sit on. "Hey, it was the past, you don't need to dwell on that."

"And what made you leave her?" Leo was starting to stand as well. "Was she not pretty enough for you?"

My eyes darted between the fight. "It was for reasons you don't need to know about, okay?" Percy said, I noticed his hands forming into fists.

"Oh come on, Percy. You should have seen her, she was crying about you. Just because you decided to leave her and not keep in touch."

Percy looked ready to beat up Leo to a pulp. The feeling was mutual for Leo.

"Hey Leo. Let's go put this in the bin, shall we?" I pointed towards a can of coke laying near him. "I'll come with you."

Leo raised an eyebrow. "Umm, Annabeth? You don't need two people to put a can of coke in the bin, I'm pretty sure I can put it in there myself."

"No, you can't."

Leo- bless his soul, decided not to argue and followed me towards the bin that stood conveniently far away from our designated spot.

"What was that?" I asked him when we were walking.

Leo turned towards the others, then back to me. "Calypso was angry about some dude who never spoke to her again. No, not angry as in annoyed angry, I mean angry as in her face was full on red. She was also crying and she couldn't even utter his name without sobbing so much."

I nodded. "Well, some could say that was a blessing in disguise."

Leo raised an eyebrow. "What are we, in the sixteenth century? No one uses that anymore."

I shrugged. "Without Percy and Calypso breaking apart, you wouldn't have had a chance with her."

Leo sighed, running his hand through his curly brown hair. "I know, but you should've seen her face. It hurt me to see her like that."

"Then that must mean you really like her." I said, smiling at Leo. "Now go back and apologise to- actually no, don't do that. Just act like your little argument never happened, and you can go back to being friends again."

"Yeah sure, I'll do that." He paused. "And Annabeth?"

"Yeah?"

"We went way past the bin."

I looked behind me, noticing the bin far far away from us. "Oh, right."

He laughed, and we walked back.

"Where did you guys go?" Thalia asked.

"To the bin to throw a can of coke." Leo said.

"You sure about that, because you literally walked by it." Percy said, tensing a little bit as he looked at Leo.

"Oh Gods, I messed up." Leo sighed. "I'm sorry Percy, I really am. I didn't know what happened there fully, so I can't really jump to conclusions."

Percy smirked. "Same goes to you, Leo. I shouldn't have been so vague and angry." He laughed. "We were total idiots weren't we?"

"Yep." Frank said, throwing a chip at Percy and Leo.

My thumbs are dying.

And what do you wonderfully amazing readers think? Should I carry on with long chapters, or stick with my short 1000 word ones?

I believe the long chapters are nice.
Be sure to comment and I'll definitely read it.
