Annabeth's pov:

It was lunch when I decided to go over to Percy.

Oh and by the way I just wanna get it straight, I am the queen bee of the popular girls, I haven't dated anyone except one boy who broke my heart and I never wear makeup.

It just makes me feel more of a brat than I already am....

Anyways, I was sat with Drew, she was talking smack about Thalia when I caught Percy sitting with the weirdos.
Although I loathed them, I strode over to Percy with a smug smile.

He wouldn't be able to resist.

All the others turned around and started to whisper and most of them laughed.

I knew what they were talking about, so I quickly turned around to stop from swearing or even worse, crying.

"Hey Percy, I'm sorry for acting all weird, my name is Annabeth by the-"

I was stopped after Percy rolled his eyes and talked to Jason. The others laughed a lot. Like A LOT. I just kept my head high and asked again. I must have been asking like 20 times before he answered:

"Look Annabell, you can clearly see I don't want to talk to you so can you just go?" He asked, I swear I could see Thalia smirk once he said that.

That's weird, me and her are supposed to be friends.

Percy's pov:

It was lunch and Jason went to go introduce me to his other friends.

Grover Underwood(personal favourite), Juniper Acacia, Leo Valdez (he's funny as hell), Hazel Levesque, Frank Zhang, Piper McLean (Jason is dating her), Thalia Grace and Rachel Elizabeth Dare (that girl is AMAZING, think I might have a crush on her)

We were soon talking and laughing like we were friends for eternity.

Then guess what comes crawling out of the sewer...

"Hmm, dog alert!" Leo shouted to which the others laughed.

She started walking towards me, I swear I saw a look of hurt on her face, but it quickly dissappeared.

"Hey Percy I'm sorry for acting all weird, my name is Annabeth by the wa-"

I didn't let her finish and I just ignored her and talked to Jason and the others as well. They all laughed, Thalia and Piper and Hazel just smirked.

That idiot didn't even understand I was trying to ignore her.

"Look Annabell, you can clearly see I don't want to talk to you so can you just leave?"

She just looked at me in annoyance and walked away.

"That girls a handful.." Leo laughed whilst taking a bite out of his burrito.

"Yeah, but she clearly wants to date you!" Jason shouted and I fumed out.

"THAT GIRLS A PIECE CRAP! SERIOUSLY, I MEAN IF LOOKS COULD KILL SHE COULD BE AN ASSASSIN, NO WAY AM I DATING A BLONDE LIKE HER. DUMB BLONDE IS RUDE AND ALL, BUT I THINK WE CAN ALL AGREE SHE'S LOST A FEW SCREWS IN HER BIG HEAD! SHE ACTS LIKE A YOU KNOW WHAT!!" I shouted, clearly mad at what Jason said.

"Woah, Percy umm that was a BIT rude, even for her!" Jason said whilst being all nervous.

"Guys ... she heard!" Piper said, and I turned around to see Annabell run to the toilets. She looked like she was gonna puke.

Annabeth's pov:

I heard everything.

Everything.

From the piece of crap to the dumb blonde and to the looks can kill part.

I hated it, I mean yes I was a brat  sometimes, but I never said anything so mean and rude to a bunch of people who already hate you.

And don't forget, I heard him call me the h word.

And although, I didn't want to admit it, that made me go to the toilets and puke half of my insides out.

I HATED that word. It's what my step-mom describes me. It's what I've said I'll never be, it's what makes Helen hit me. It's a word that, although most popular girls are, I most definitely am not.

So naturally, after I cleaned myself up I went off to the library where I could read a book and forget about my troubles.

Right as I realized Jasper, one of my favourite character dies which is really weird because he was a main character, the bell rang informing me that gym with THEM was next.

(Hm that author sounds a lot like Rick Riordan..)

I groaned and quickly went to the changing rooms. I hope Thalia and Piper and Hazel were there.

Yeah I know what you're thinking. But Thalia and Piper and Hazel are friends with Percy!

Gasp!!

Those girls are still my friends, and I would give anything to hang out with them instead of Drew, but unfortunately I can't.

I just can't.

"Hey Thalia, Piper and Hazel," I said whilst giving out my hands for them to high-five.

It never came.

"Hello guys..?" I asked whilst waiting for them to finish talking to each other.

They each gave each other a nod.

"Okay look Annabeth, we have to stop hanging out with you. You're just so distant and Drew your 'friend' is seriously mean to Pipes. So yeah.... can you please just go?" Thalia said,  no look of concern on her face.

They left, and I just stood there, wondering what the heck just happened.

Once I got out of the changing rooms I saw them go over to the boys, and boy was I mad.

I didn't let that show, I just walked off to the gym, ready to face whatever Coach Hedge gave us.

"Alright cupcakes, you'll be doing a couple of mile runs and I want you to run the WHOLE WAY. If you don't I WILL SMASH YOU WITH MY CLUB!"
He boomed.

I seriously didn't know if that guy was serious.

Drew was hanging with some random guy, probably seeing if he has a girlfriend.

Because of that, I ran alone. I mean normally I would run with Thalia and Piper and Hazel, but they were running with Percy, Jason, Frank and Leo and Rachel.

They didn't even look back at me once.

I mean once I was running fast because, I know this will suprise you, but I am seriously athletic. I've been doing sports since I was 3, and I haven't stopped since.

Anyway I was running fast and the others thought I was trying to catch up to them and they started to run much more faster.

Gods, that's annoying.

I didn't stop running fast and just to annoy them I sprinted past them, much to their shocked faces and came in first.

"Well done Annabeth, you won't be meeting my friend, Clubby. Also, this isn't a question but can you join the track team?" Coach Hedge half-shouted, seriously he must have a throat of steel.

"Mmkay, but who's in it?" I asked.

"Piper, Thalia, Hazel, Jason, Frank and the scrawny kid Leo. I'm also going to add Percy. And Nico."

Are you kidding me?!?!

"Okay, but I'll only go if you make me an individual, as in I'm still with them but I don't want to talk to them or anything," I replied, because I am not taking down an opportunity just because those guys are there.

"Coach what are you talking about?" Piper asks.

"Oh, I'm just adding Annabeth here to the track team, she even beat you guys!" Coach Hedge laughed.

"Umm thanks, but no thanks," Piper says.

"I'm sorry WHAT?!" I shouted, letting out all my anger on her.

She definitely deserved it.

"Annabeth, I'm being serious WHY DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO FOLLOW US!" Piper shouted, whilst her friends came to see what all the commotion was.

Coach Hedge was just standing there, asking his assistant to get him some popcorn.

"I'M NOT HERE FOR YOU GUYS, I JUST LIKE SPORTS!" I shout getting close to her.

"Percy was right, you just use Drew and everyone else. And I'm sorry to say this, wait no I am not, but you STILL ARE A-!" She said the dreaded word.

The whole class was watching, everyone sniggering at what she just called me.

"Well Piper I just want to know, do dumb blondes do this?" I lunged at her, grabbing her hair and kicking her in the stomach.

She tried to get me off her, but I continued to punch the living daylights out of her.

Then her friends started screaming telling me to get off and then Thalia pushed me down to the ground.

Then Percy came with others looking like they wanted to bite my head off.

"She calls you something, you call her something back!" Percy shouted, his face red with rage.

I just looked back, a bit bruised but seemingly okay.

"Oh and by the way, Piper and I were right!" Percy says while the seven nod in agreement.

I just ignored him to make sure the tears didn't fall.

"So coach when is the track team coming?" I asked whilst getting up and brushing my shirts and now dirty knees.

"Hm? Oh yeah, it's just today for 1 and a half hours. Every day by the way!" He barked.

"Oh and Percy, you want to join?" Coach asked.

Percy looked horrified, but then realised his friends were coming.

"Yeah, yeah sure" He replied whilst glaring at me.

I just walked off, getting ready to change.

If you ignore them, they ignore you.

BOY WAS I WRONG.
