A God Thingy Again Part 2
Nico stood still, Zeus's words still ringing in his ears; "you're the last demigod on earth" . . .
"What do you mean?" Nico asked calmly, playing with the ring on his finger.
"Would you stop playing with that thing?!" Zeus snapped. "Please." He added in a softer tone.
"I-I can't. It helps me c-calm down." Nico said, panic rising up in his throat. "What the hell do you mean, I'm the last demigod on earth?!"
"Oh, yes, you are . . ." Zeus said. "Let me explain . . . we teleported you here, not only to ask for help, but to give you something you deserve. We want to give you two gifts; one, for being the one to persuade Hades to help us fight Typhon, and one for teleporting the mark of Athena across the country. The only thing we can't do for you is bring back anyone, including Will and Hazel. We're sorry, but we know they wouldn't-"
"Be happy, I know. I wasn't thinking about that." Nico said, another tear dripping down his cheek.
"Look, kid." Zeus said. "We want you to be an immortal for one of your wishes. You'll be the prince of the gods, god of lost souls, outcasts, god of the shadows, if you choose to use one of your wishes on this."
Nico looked up. He nodded, thinking Will would be happy knowing his prince- his king- would be safe, never dying, never getting hurt physically ever again.
"Are you sure?" Zeus asked.
"Honestly? I don't want to be immortal. But I wish to use one of my wishes on this, not because I want it, but Hazel and Will would w-want this for me. So would Reyna, Jason, Annabeth, Frank, Piper, Leo, and Percy. I know they would." Nico said.
"Deep." Apollo said, coming beside them. After Zeus let him back on being in godly form terms, he was way less annoying, and became more . . . reserved.
"So, is he becoming immortal?" Artemis asked.
"Yup." Zeus said. "ALL THE 12 MOST IMPORTANT GODS, ON MOUNT OLYMPUS, RIGHT NOW!" Zeus yelled. Hera, Poseidon, Hades, Athena, Hephaestus, Dionysus, Hermes, Aphrodite, and Ares showed up, sitting on their thrones in their giant forms.
"Do you, Nico di Angelo, wish to be immortal?" Zeus said in a bored voice.
"Yes, sir." Nico replied.
"Very well." Nico's chest tightened, rising into the air. He felt his blood leave his body, replacing with golden ichor. He got a few inches taller, a very painful process on an empty stomach.
When it was done, his cloths were a few inches too short, and just a little too tight.
Aphrodite shrieked and pulled him into her dressing room, dressing him in a loose skull shirt, a bigger duplicate of his jacket, black pants, and black shoes.
When he came back out, everyone was staring at the kid- no, man- they once knew. He had the same glossy look in his eyes, the one indicating that he was lying when he said "I'm fine."
. . .
"CAUSE MISERY IS WAITING ON ME!" Nico sang/screamed. It was 5 years since he became immortal, and he had finally gotten use to not aging.
"ANGELO, I WILL SERIOUSLY TAKE THAT THING AWAY FROM YOU!" Athena yelled.
"Okay, okay, sorry." Nico replied. "Hey, do you think Zeus would mind if I go to the mortal world and comfort this little girl? She lost her mom somewhere and can't find her." He said.
"No, I don't think he will. But, if he does, he'll have _me_ to answer to." She responded.
Nico smiled that painful smile of his, and said a quick thanks before he shrank down to human size and ran to the crying five-year-old.
He still had one wish left over that Zeus gave him; he didn't know when or how he would use it, but he still had it.
When he came up to the sobbing little girl, she looked up at him and smiled the same painful smile he had, and said "Hi, Nico. It's me, Hazel."
