"Yeah, but my SISTER, really?" Alabaster spat out venomously, his eyes narrowed in a mix of bitter curiosity and restrained resentment.

"What?" Percy, Alabaster's boyfriend (in his newest, and longest lasting relationship), asked, his expression one of utter confusion. His eyebrows stayed furrowed in gentle bafflement, his shoulders hunched defensively. "She was clearly the better option of the two of you. I wanted a teammate of equal loyalty - one who wouldn't rat me out or ditch me for the winning team. I didn't realise you'd get so upset about this!"

"Oh, I'm sorry! Maybe I just thought my boyfriend trusted me enough, liked me enough to want to be on a team with me. Instead I find out I have a boyfriend who doesn't care about embaressing me in front of my own family - as long as he scores a win in the games."

"Alabaster - it's not about that... please understand where I'm coming from with this. I always love being on your team (I like you a lot, after all), but sometimes you get a little bit - too much. Lou is a lot more reserved when it comes to playing games. Both when we're winning or losing. Though we usually lose, when it's just the two of us on a team."

Alabaster rolled his eyes, turning to walk away in an attempt to stay calm (and prove that he wasn't always 'too much' to deal with).

Percy hurried after him, easily keeping up with his hurried steps. As they walked, Percy stuttered out apologies and tumbled over his own feet.
