Nico scowled - feeling confused and humiliated - down at the tiny blue gift box in his hands.

What he had been hoping for, to be honest, was the latest addition ring in his favourite collection.

What he had just recieved, just unwrapped, however, was a (in his very uneducated opinion) tacky-looking, pale yellow guitar pick.

What had his boyfriend been thinking when they picked this out? Surely this would have been something better suited to Will - the only one of the four of them who could actually play the guitar.

Jason, attempting to stay thankful for what was clearly not the thing he had asked for, smiled faintly.

He carefully, mindful of the deep-rooted hope he held for the idea of this present not actually being his, placed the happy-looking dolphin ornament on his bedside table.

Surely, he thought with a wistful hum, that gift would have been better appreciated by Percy, the one with an interest in anything underwater.

(If he was honest, Jason couldn't even name a single type fish, other than gold fish. And that was only because he had one as a kid.)
