Calypso's POV
78 days. Seventy eight days on my island, not even real world days, Leo has been gone. And I haven't forgotten, and I still love him. He swore, he swore on the River Styx he would come back. And he hasn't yet. It could have been a year in the mortal world. Leo could have forgotten about me, but I didn't forget about him.
Many people have come and gone. 12, to be exact. Each one, I fell in love with as I had to. But none of them were the same as Leo. It was different with him, I truly loved him, and not because of my stupid curse. If only I could get off this island and find him, and tell him how much I love him.
I sat on the shore, the water lapping up at my feet. The water was slightly warm, the perfect swimming temperature, but I didn't feel like swimming. I just wanted Leo to come back, even though he couldn't. He couldn't possibly come back, it was against the laws of the curse. You can never come twice. But Leo had to find me, he swore on the River Styx he would come back for me.
I looked up at the clouds and saw the weirdest thing. A flying ship. And actual flying ship. It seemed to have a dragon head on the bow as well. Then I knew. Leo.
I jumped up off the ground and ran to the side of the beach so the ship could land safely. The ship got lower and lower, it's shadow cast upon the ground, taking up half of the beach. I ran further back so I wouldn't be crushed by this flying ship. My heart was still racing, however. My Leo was back.
As the ship landed, a rope ladder was flung over the side of the ship and landed on the beach below. I ran over to the ladder and stood by it as Leo descended from it. He looked just like he used to, curly brown hair, his tool belt, his shirt having a little bit of grease stained on it, along with his face having some grease stains. Still handsome. As he touched the ground, I enveloped him in a bear hug that made him collapse to the ground. "Oh my gods, I missed you! How long has it been out there in the real world, six months? A year?" I asked in a hurry.
"Well, hello, Calypso," he chuckled, "And it hasn't been that long, but it's still been a while, I will give you that. It's been 78 days, three hours, 26 minutes, and....fourteen and counting seconds."
"Wait, seventy-eight days?" I asked, "That's how long it's been on my island. The curse must be reversing!" I jumped up off of Leo and did a happy dance. Leo just looked at me and laughed.
"Yep, it must be," he said, standing up and brushing the sand off of himself. He walked over to me and picked me up in and hug. "I missed you, Calypso. I missed you so much," he whispered into my ear. Then he kissed me, and it felt like I was truly alive again, truly free, and truly in love.
"I love you, Leo Valdez," I said.
"I love you, Calypso What-Ever-Your-Last-Name-Is," he replied, making me laugh. I knew Leo would always be there for me, always. And he never broke his promises.
