Tratie

Travis's POV:

It was the Titan war and there were empousas everywhere. Me and Connor were fighting back to back and were fighting all the of them surrounding us. Thankfully there wasn't a lot of them but I knew not to get too comfortable. In the corner of my eye i could see my girlfriend.

Katie Gardner

Her long sleeve shirt was turning into a short sleeve shirt quickly with all the empousas attacking her. Her hair was fixed into a high ponytail and she had a sword in her hand. Scratches were visible on her arms and a portion of her pants leg was cut off, making a very questionable fashion statement. I was praying to the gods that she wouldn't get harmed more than she already was.

But i guess my prayers weren't answered because as soon as me and Connor stabbed all the monsters and they'd turned to dust, I faced in Katie's direction. There were even more empousas circling her. While she was sparring with one, another kicked her leg, causing Katie to fall to the ground and yell. One kicked her upper body and another kicked her in the back of her head, making her lose consciousness.

This was all happening in slow motion. But I quickly got over watching those monsters torture my girlfriend. Me and Connor charged. 

We both stood and blocked either side of Katie's unconscious body, making sure that there was no way any empousas would go near her.

One sneered at us "Stolls"

I sneered back "Uglies"

"You probably won't wanna be saying that after your weak, puny girlfriend is dead in your arms"

Connor gripped his sword tighter "You probably don't wanna be saying that after we kill you"

We stabbed at some empousas and after a few moments most of them were gone and the rest fleed away only to be welcomed with a few other angry demigods chasing after them.

I kneeled down to the ground holding Katie in my arms. She was breathing but out cold. I sighed in relief. Connor was still standing and looked down at us.

"Uhm, i'm gonna go over there" Pointing to the crowd of other demigods fighting some more monsters.

I nodded looking up. As soon as he jogged away, I scooped Katie up bridal style and ran to the emergency station tent.

The emergency station tent had mostly Apollo kids helping the wounded in battle. But they weren't defenseless, every time a monster got too close they shot an arrow at them.

"Will!" I noticed him there and raced to him. "Katie needs help"

He nodded, took her out of my hands and placed her on one of the empty beds. He checked her head, upper body and lower body for scratches and bruises. He winced and looked at me who was staring at Katie worryingly (don't know if that's a word).

"Travis you should go back out there" he said walking up to me and patting me on the shoulder "you need to help the others and your brother"

"But i can't" i said biting my lip "I need to stay here with Katie"

"Travis, you need to help with the war" he glanced back at Katie "she'll want you to"

I glanced back at Katie too and then back at Will. I sighed and reluctantly sprinted to my younger brother's side on the battlefield.

Connor glanced at me "Let's do this?"

I nodded "Hell yeah"

He smirked and together we charged.

L A T E R

The Titan war was over. A lot of people were wounded but not a lot were dead. After the war was done demigods helped move the emergency station tent equipment to the infirmary. And i automatically went to check up on Katie. The beds were all lined up  but i couldn't tell who was behind them because there were curtains closing around them. Will saw me and he pointed at one. He smiled "Shes over there and she's awake"

I let out a breath i didn't even know i was holding back "Thanks" I gave him a sideways smile

I speed walked to the curtain Will pointed at and i peaked inside. I saw Katie. She was lying down on the bed. Her head, upper body and leg was bandaged. But she couldn't look any more beautiful.

Being a Hermès kid, being stealthy and all, she obviously didn't see or hear me pull the curtain back because she was looking down at her lap and fiddling her thumbs. I put my hand on one of the bedpost and said "Hey"

She looked up surprisingly. Katie grinned and scooted over. She patted down on her bed signaling for me to lay down next to her. I closed the curtain and obliged. She laid her head on my chest gently. I wrapped my arms around her careful not to hurt her arm or abdomen. And for a few moments we just laid there without saying anything. But it wasn't awkward, it was probably the most calm moment i've had with Katie. I was about to fall asleep with her in my arms but then she broke the silence.

"Thank you" she stated. I could feel her smile against my chest.

I looked down at her and scrunched my eyebrows. "What for?"

"Saving me"

I let out a chuckle "Of course, i couldn't let my girlfriend die on my watch"

I could feel her smile wider against me. "Wait, but how'd you know I was the one who saved you"

She looked up at me and hugged me tighter. "Before i passed out completely, I looked up and saw you and Connor standing in front of me."

I nodded and made an 'O' shape with my mouth.

"Without you two, i would've been a goner"

I hugged her tighter completely forgetting her bruises. She winced and lightly pulled away.

'Idiot' I thought to myself

"It's fine" She put her arms around my neck again. I pulled up her shirt a little and saw a couple bruises that weren't bandaged.

"Katie," I gasped and lightly traced over them "You want me to call Will?"

She pursed her lips "No really it's fine"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes Trav"

I scrunched my eyebrows "Ok, fine"

She let out a little laugh "You kinda sound like a mom"

I rolled my eyes and pulled her shirt back down "I try"

"Oh what would i do with out you?" She said closing her eyes

"You don't need to think about that" I said while doing the same and cuddling closer to her "cause i'm not going anywhere"

And with that, we drifted off to sleep.
