" Forefront was created to test the limits on human abilities by giving kids artificial powers to make them stronger than everyone else. The government apparently funded Forefront for five years before they found out what it really was. The company was founded to supposedly conduct an experiment on orphans compared with children with homes, but it wasn't. I mean, I would know. And more evidence could be that we started with twenty kids and ended with five.
The world was revealed to Forefront's true nature during the Battle of New York. Forefront thought were were ready to progress into Stage Seven, when we had only just finished Stage Four. The war with the Chitauri was a perfect way for us to show everyone what we could do, but when the ten of us that were left stood together on the front lines with our hands wrapped together and our feet planted, we were destroyed. We used our powers to help the Avengers and stop Sir Loki, but the government wanted Forefront gone after they saw what they did to us. And the news branded us the Children of Forefront.
The government pulled away and stopped giving Forefront money, and because of that, the experiments became sloppier and five kids were sent to Rehabilitation. Which was basically a fancy way of saying the kids were no longer needed and were sent to be killed. I remember every one of my friends that was sent to Rehabilitation, and I remember when it was.
I found out later what truly happened to them, and I still don't know if I'm okay with the outcome or not. But even before the Battle of New York, ten of my friends were sent to Rehabilitation, and then there were another five after the Battle, leaving just me, Marcus, Kathryn, Luca, and Jax.
Ever since the world found out about us and what we could do that one day many years ago, we were locked away in Forefront to move onto Stages Five and Six. The world never saw us again, and we became the Lost Children of Forefront - though our story was often thought of as a myth.
We continued with our training, but in the back of our minds, I think we all knew we were never going to reach Stage Seven again. The world proved they weren't ready for us, and we figured Forefront understood that, too.
Our stories started when we were five years old in orphanages all across the state of New York. People tend to stretch or exaggerate our lives, and even sometimes they try to minimize everything we've been through.
I'm tired of reading stories about the Children of Forefront and how they're just a myth in the newspapers and on television. I'm here to tell the whole story of our lives since what we call the Forefront massacre. So pay attention, it's a long one. "
