Alternative subcultures and stuff are something I really like to learn about ^^

And now I wanna rant about how kinda weird and bigoted some modern scene ppl r

OKAY SO

Scene is pretty much to sum it up quite quickly, a poser subculture of emo, most alternative subcultures focus on music and political movements rather than fashion, and scene is fashion based!!

Scene ppl r posers, they wanted to be in the music SCENE (that's why it has its name!!)

They were quite accepting of lgbtq stuff!! Which wasn't common at the time (not all of em were though)

THIS HOWEVER does NOT mean that everyone that's scene is a good person

Lots of people were racist, and quite bigoted in other ways

And new scene people are using "but it's part of the subculture!-" as an excuse to be racist bigots ^^

Don't do that. Times change, so do people, get over it, leave that shiz in that past

Another big part of the culture was ~mass consumerism~ but like I said! Times have changed. Pls don't buy all of ur stuff from shein guys. Depop has better stuff anyways

BUT ANYWAYS

Since times have changed, so have the people, I think us new gen scene peeps should break away from the bad parts, and start a new, better way of living ^^

I'm trying to not buy stuff from companies who do child labor for example ^^ no dollskill, Amazon, shein, and alla those for me!!

I like thrifting more, and scavenging through department store clothing sections like Tjmaxx, Marshall's and Ross ^^ (though I'm not shopping from the first two as much cus they donate to the orange man and his little project this year!!)

Also, festival's are really fun!! And idk if urs are like this, but ones round where I live have tons of small businesses, so you can find pretty kool jewelry, clothing and tons of other stuff!!

I like going to local band gigs (well local-ish, usually outta town) and supporting them ^^

If you don't have any thrifts near you but want to, there are tons of online thrifting shops!! Like Depop, Poshmark, vinted, thread up, you could probs find stuff on frickin Facebook market place and eBay, wouldn't recommend Craigslist tho- kinda sketchy

I wanna shop local more ^^ there's no local grocery stores close to me unfortunately :( but I'm gonna try not to shop from Walmart much since they also send money to the orange man!!

My mom says if there are any protests we will go, just us!! (My dad likes the orange man...so does 99% of my fam, only others who I know don't are my grandparents and my fav cousin ^^)

If something affects you, don't stay silent, fight it, if not for yourself, for others who can't

I think about all the people who have given their lives for women's rights, queer peoples rights, and everything like that, they didn't give up, why should I?

So I won't, I'm lucky enough to have the coolest mom ever, so when I need to fight, I will!! For those who can't!!
