~ Everything Is About To Change~

PART - I

Way was busy fixing his shirt, putting on the buttons with a quick pace when all of a sudden he felt a little tug on his jacket. He quickly turned around and looked down, only to see his sweet little daughter tugging at his jacket, giggling softly.

"Aww my sweetheart's ready, hm?" he cooed, as he crouched down on the floor to be at the same level as his daughter, "Goshhh my girl has grown up so much," he exclaimed, fixing her hair a little bit and doing her skirt, "Just like a young lady, isn't it?"

"Nouuu...just like Mammaaaaa!" cried the child, pointing at Way, her big doe eyes sparkling brightly and her face filled with little smiles of her childish innocence, instantly melting Way's heart.

"Aww Mama loves you so much baby," Way replied, instantly picking up his little girl in his arms and showering her small face with so many kisses. He then quickly got up and fixed his own dress, constantly swiping his slightly stained shirt and a little dirty jacket over and over again and was reluctant to leave the mirror unless his daughter's whines pulled him out of his place.

Way picked up all the necessary papers and items, hovering around the house like a cyclone, and after tying his daughter's shoes and hastily closing the doors, he finally set out with her to walk up to her school. He held her hand and the two of them strolled down the lane, talking and laughing without a care.

Way looked all confident...but deep down within, he was hesitant, nervous and had really low confidence.

This was the first time in his life that he was visiting his daughter's school. As unbelievable as it sounds, it was true. He used to only drop her at the school in the morning and pick her up in the afternoons. Most of the time, he used to send some relative or close friends with his daughter if there was any urgent requirement. But this time the school had specifically asked for the child's parents to visit the class teacher, otherwise she might not be allowed to sit in the upcoming academical examinations. Having no choice, Way was compelled to go.

Way had lost all his confidence. Gone were the days when he was all smiley and cheerful. All his past experiences had turned him into the uncomfortable, insecure person he was today, scared to be around a new environment. He had lost his confidence of talking to new people or felt too insecure to even go out somewhere all alone. His world was all blank and dull, filled with the monotone of a forced living. Thanks to his little girl who had never failed to bring a smile on his face even a tiring day.

Way stood in front of the building, holding his daughter's little hand in his own. His heart beat fast, anxiety and nervousness filling up his veins. He slowly walked towards the school gate, his daughter leading the way, dancing in glee. Way couldn't help but smile a little at this, but very soon his smile faded as he noticed other parents looking at him oddly.

Oh! That's that girl's father?

I thought she had no parents...

Gosh! He's so young...is he still a teen?

Where is the mother?

Is he a single parent? Perhaps that's the reason why that brat's so mannerless...

Oh yes! She always fights with other kids whenever they say something about her parents...Huh! She doesn't even have a perfect family hahaha...

Way wanted to shrug it off, but something stung so hard in him that it ached, his chest feeling heavy and face contorting in pain. His eyes were now stinging with tears but still he somehow managed to brush it off and quietly followed his daughter inside the building towards her classroom.

Am I really a bad parent? Am I not capable of raising a child? Am I really a waste after all as he said...

Way's eyes were still stuck to his shoes as he walked inside the empty classroom like a robot, not really knowing where he was going. He was still lost in his myriad of thoughts clogging his head and hadn't realized that he was already inside the classroom, until a deep voice pulled him back to reality.

"Mr. Ponrawat Wachirabantoon."

The sudden intervention of the voice calling his name, deep and low, slightly echoing in the empty classroom made the boy shiver as he quickly looked up and his slightly blurred eyesight met the man sitting at the table right in front of him.

His daughter's teacher.

Way quietly came forward and after a brief wish, he took his seat in front of the teacher, his daughter beside him. At first he couldn't look up, he didn't know why. His eyes were still stinging with tears and he didn't want to meet the teacher's gaze with tear stained eyes. But he realised this was disrespectful, so he hastily  rubbed his eyes and slowly raised his gaze up.

And that was when he saw the man in front of him clearly.

Hot. The only word that came in his mind. Even though Way had become completely socially awkward with people and had always tried his best to stay away from any kind of feelings and relationships after being thoroughly sabotaged by all those incidents that had drastically changed his life, the boy couldn't deny the fact that the man in front of him was making his heart beat faster and faster and made his cheeks and ears grow warmer. There was nothing so special in the man, who was just in a simple set of formal dark attires and nothing too much. Yet his dashing features and handsome visage, his sharp eyes gazing at him through his thin rimmed glasses, his strong figure and his overall strict personality and calm demeanor made Way baffle.

"So this is your father, Lily?" asked the teacher to the little child to which she cutely nodded her head, her little pigtails wiggling. The teacher gave her a soft smile and turned to her parent.

"Good morning Sir. So...at first...I would like to speak about a few matters. First of all, I've never seen you before in any of the meetings, Mr. Wach-"

"W-Way," stuttered the anxious parent, his hands growing cold, "Pl-Please call me Way..."

"Mr Way," continued the man, his eyes looking straight into Way's pupils, "As you've hardly ever visited the school, I've never got the chance to discuss with you about the progress of your child. It's always some relative of hers who comes with her, takes her report card and goes away. Honestly, what's the use of a parent-teacher meeting if the 'parent' isn't available? Any reasons for your prolonged absence, Mr. Way?"

Way stayed quiet, hanging his head low. What could he say? That he had to work too many jobs dawn to dusk in order to earn money or that he honestly didn't want to go even if he had time just because he was still not confident speaking to new people? What would he say? None of them would be a valid reason. And what would the teacher say back? That he didn't even have this much time for his own daughter to visit her teacher and know about her progress.

I'm indeed a bad parent.

"It's alright if you're uncomfortable with it," the teacher intervened, breaking the silence, "We can't waste much time right now. Others are waiting. Let's go with her performance."

Way was a little glad at this. As soon as he saw the teacher turning to the report cards, he quickly turned around a little and rubbed off the forming tears in his eyes, and then turned back to the teacher. Even though he thought the teacher didn't see him, this action of his didn't go unnoticed by him.

"So...your child is extremely good in English," he spoke smiling, as he fixed his glasses a bit and continued, "Reading, writing, spellings, speaking skills...she excels in all of them. She tops in class in English and in no doubt better than anyone else. I wonder who has taught her-"

"Mamaaa!" The child, who was quiet for so long, suddenly blurted out, pointing eagerly at Way and giggling softly.

"M-Mama?" asked the teacher, looking very confused.

"U-Uhh y-yeah...sh-she-" Way was suddenly at a loss for words, feeling highly embarrassed, "Sh-She c-calls me M-Mama..."

"Ohh- I see...that's-that's sweet," replied the teacher, still looking confused yet went back to the report, "She's good in other subjects too. An A+ in extra curricular activities, A in drawing, A+ in manners...Good girl," the teacher looked at the child, making her smile widely, "Everything is fine about her Mr. Way. I've got no complains about her too. Well mannered, well spoken, a little too talkative and often gets into fights. But that's all okay except-"

"E-Except what Sir?" a slight hint of fear and concern was evident in Way's voice.

The teacher put the card in front of him and Way examined it properly. Soon he found out what he was talking about. He could well see a big C beside the subject Mathematics in his child's report card.

"Any explanation about this?"

"Um," Way thought what to say, "Sh-She hasn't got much guidance for this subject, Sir," he explained, "I don't excel in Maths myself and without a proper guidance I-I don't know h-how-"

"I see," replied the teacher, leaning back on the chair, folding his arms, "But you must know, Mathematics is an important subject. It's the base for so many subjects that she will be studying in future and if her grip on Maths isn't strong, it might be difficult for her to grasp those subjects."

"I-I s-see," whispered Way, looking a little guilty of not providing his child the amount of care and education she deserved. Even though he was a single parent who knew how much he had to strive throughout the day just in order to put a decent meal in front of his daughter in the evening, the self guilt of not being a perfect parent was eating him up. He quietly sat at his place, cussing himself in his mind, tears threatening to fall anytime.

I'm honestly a good for nothing piece of shit!

"Uh maybe you could-"

"Can you tutor her, Sir?" Way suddenly blurted out,  looking eagerly at the teacher.

"I-"

"Honey can you leave for a second, please?" Way asked his daughter, who, without any protest, quietly got down from her chair and trotted away. Way then turned towards the teacher and looked at him earnestly.

"I-I don't know anything about this subject," he explained, "Neither do I know about any tutors who can teach her. Sh-She seems to like your classes a lot and would be glad if you tutor her..."

"But-"

"Y-You don't have to worry about the fees Sir," Way explained, looking desperate, "I-I'll manage it all...y-you just t-tutor-"

"Mr Way," said the teacher said, "You don't have to worry about the fees or anything. I'll tutor her myself, as long as you're okay with it. Fees and all, we can talk about it later. It can be a little tough for me but it's ok. Lily is a literal sweetheart and teaching her something better will be a joy to me. So please don't worry. We can talk about the rest later. Just tell me from when you want to begin her classes."

A ray of hope shone through Way, as a light smile curled at the sides of his slightly chapped lips. He looked at the man in front of him as if he was a savior. Nothing in this world mattered to him more than his daughter. He had always dreamt of giving her the best of all, even if it meant him spending a little more on her and living on bare minimum for himself.

"P-Perhaps tomorrow afternoon?" Way suggested, still not sure of whether, whatever he was doing was right or not.

"Sure," assured the teacher, "Please give me your address and phone number. I'll be able to contact you when needed."

Way quickly wrote down his address and number on a piece of paper and gave to the teacher. He then got up and with a 'thank you' and a slight bow, he walked towards the door

"Um I-I'm sorry to disturb you again, Sir...b-but-" Way came back quickly, "I-I j-just needed your n-name-"

"Call me Pete," came the calm reply, which made Way once again look up at the teacher, their gazes intertwined with each other. Way gulped a little, his eyes trying to look anywhere but the man in front of him, his cheeks heating up once again. With another shaky 'thank you sir' and a very awkward bow, he finally left.

As the teacher sat at his desk rearranging the report cards, his mind couldn't help but think back on his favourite student's parent. After all, never in his life had he ever thought that he would see those eyes once again...big bright caramel eyes.

Why were those eyes so similar to his?

A short PetexWay series of oneshot for all my heartbroken people<3

I can understand y'all too well...cuz this was my first time seeing my favorite character die on screen. Idk if Way would really be my favorite character if I had read only the novel...but after the amount of character development they had put in him in the series, I had at least not expected him to die. Even if he didn't end up with Pete (which would practically be impossible in the last episode), they could have kept him alive and leave the special episodes for him to fall in love but no-

Even Babe was broken af! Even he...who was do so angry at him in ep 9 & 10, pulled him in his arms, instantly forgave him, begged him to come back to him, to be with him and even said I love you as a final farewell (mam could have called an ambulance fr)...they really had to kill him ugh!

I had ranted a lot about this yesterday in my conversation box lol. In a nutshell, I am NOT at all happy with how they ended the series...even after excluding Way's death (which wasn't properly executed too)

Whatever guys! What's done is done. Let's keep Way alive in our ffs and weave the best of stories about him and Pete...along with all the other couples<33

Idea by -> theyaoidynasty

Also, to all the CharlieBabe and AlanJeff fans, y'all have got loads of them in the series so don't come looking for them here frfr. I'll perhaps write about them too but not so soon. I'll be writing mostly 'bout the ones who didn't get enough screen time in the drama. So yeah! If you don't like this plan, kindly leave.

Stay tuned for the nest updates of this short series!

And do tell me about your predictions lol!
