They had talked everything through.

After talking with Adam and eventually thanking him for all that he had done for her, Fiona's and her mom had driven home to talk more privately. It was an emotional Saturday to say the least, but Fiona felt they got to say what needed to be said. Now that everything was out in the open, it felt like a burden had fallen off of her shoulders.

That next Sunday morning, against all odds, Fiona's mom had let her go to the DanceDec after church, but now with a new 6 o'clock curfew. At least until her mom found a better way to ground her, she was allowed to see Adam and dance with him, after having explained what dancing meant to her now. Whether or not she would be allowed to go to her audition was still to be determined, though.

But as Fiona walked into the DanceDec that morning and greeted Rani and Kalo and Dimitri and some of the others with a smile and a wave, she realized... she almost didn't care if she couldn't go. The audition had been her goal for so long because she thought that's what she needed to do to honor her father. Now, after working with Adam for some time... she just wanted to dance every day, regardless of the end result in a week.

Walking inside their usual studio, Fiona's lips and mood automatically lifted as she saw Adam warming up on the floor. He was stretching out his hamstrings with a foam roller, but shot a look her way when she came in. His lips turned up in a smile as well and he got up to greet her. "Hey."

"Hi," Fiona let her bag dump down to the floor and tugged a loose curl behind her ear. She had kept her hair down today, but clipped back the front pieces for dancing.

Adam came up to her and looked her over. He couldn't stop smiling as he cupped her face a little and then moved a little closer. Fiona felt her heart flutter, and then felt her cheeks warm up too when he slowly moved down and kissed her gently.

"So, are you ready for another day?" He asked, carefully. After yesterday, she understood why he was being considerate.

"I am," She replied. All she wanted to do was dance with him, especially now when it seemed so much more important.

Adam grinned slowly, then nodded. "Let's get you warmed up then."

They very quickly got warmed up with a quick dynamic stretch and then moved on to what was planned. Adam wanted to go over a few of the steps that they had danced back at the club. They hadn't been all bad, but there was room for improvement.

"So when you move your upper body to the steps of a regular reggaeton, you want it to be an extension of what happens below the waist," He told and stood behind her. He laid his hands on her hips and slowly swayed them from side to side, then around in a circle. "So back, forward, and around in a circle."

"Okay," Fiona concentrated and tried to follow the movements his hands were trying to make her do, seeing him do the same moves right behind her so they followed along. It still sometimes felt weird doing moves she weren't used to doing, but she no longer felt embarrassed. Adam made her feel comfortable enough to do them without fear of feeling stupid.

"So you want to feel it, like this," He said and connected her rear with his right side. "It's a slow grind, but if it sits right, it's going to be great. Let's try it."

He turned on the music and then they both waited as the beat counted down. Fiona concentrated and then kicked into motion when Adam did.

Hand on her hips, he guided her along to the same movements he did, doing them slowly for the sake of practicing. Fiona watched herself closely in the mirror, hoping she was doing it right. Adam nodded slowly and then lowered his gaze to her hips again. He kicked up the tempo just a little, patting her hip whenever she fell out of rhythm. After a few minutes, she finally caught the move and flowed with him as they danced.

"Good," He proudly said and gave her a little grin. Fiona grinned back and watched as Adam then nodded again. "Real good. Are you up for a routine? I'll keep it simple."

"Give me your worst."

He raised a brow. "Damn, what've you done with shy Fiona?" He chuckled and poked her side. "Last week you were wheeling out over twerking. Now you're grinding up against me like it's a piece of cake."

Fiona couldn't help but grin again and shrugged. She really couldn't explain it, other than he brought out a side of her that she didn't think she had. "That better not be a complaint or I'm walking out that door."

"Wouldn't be the first time," He winked at her through the mirror before grabbing her hips again. "Get ready then. I'll amp up the difficulty and see what you'll do about it."

For some reason, she felt so ready for that. Fiona grinned in the mirror, but then got serious as the music started. The beat counted down and Adam took the lead. Fiona felt him guide her hips, felt his hands slide over her body and his chest brush against hers. Spinning her around, he then pulled her into his chest and led her along to the beat as it dropped.

Grinding up against his right hip and leg, Fiona concentrated on keeping the beat and not messing up. Adam was working alongside her, and so far he hadn't corrected her. His hands were on her lower back and her thigh, keeping the rhythm as they took a small step back, then a small step forward. Fiona tilted her upper body back a bit and felt as his hand swept up and caught her between her shoulder blades. But when she moved up again and swung her arms around his neck, Adam abruptly pulled away.

"I'm sorry, did I do something wrong?" Fiona instantly panicked when he walked away with a curse. He strode across the room and stopped in front of a wall and pressed his hand against it with a deep sigh, glaring down at the floor with a bent head. "A-Adam?"

"No, you did good," He said in a slightly disturbed voice. He took a deep breath, then blew it out and turned to walk back. "Sorry. Let's go again."

Confused, Fiona didn't get a chance to ask anything more when he started the music again and picked up where they left off like nothing had happened. She hesitantly brought her arms back around his neck, but he then surprised her by spinning her around. Facing the mirror, Fiona frowned a little, but decided to forget about it for now and focus on dancing. Adam was gripping her hips again and trying to get her to fall in with the rhythm.

"Don't forget your left leg," He said and tapped her a little. "You tend to favor your right side a little more. Get both working."

Fiona nodded and quickly tried to do as told. She payed attention to her movements and moved when he did. She slowly ground her hips around and leaned her body a bit back against his, brushing up against his chest.

"Fuck," Adam muttered under his breath and abruptly pulled away again. This time Fiona spun around in confusion when he once again walked up to the same wall as before and leaned against it with one hand.

"Adam, what the hell is going on?" She exclaimed. Why did he keep walking away? If she was doing something wrong, why wasn't he just telling her? Had she stepped on his feet without noticing or something? "Adam."

"Sorry," He said, but cursed again under his breath before taking a new deep and very slow breath. "It's not you. I just... need a moment. For fuck's sake."

Need a moment...?

And that's when it clicked.

Fiona slowly cupped her mouth, but almost couldn't hold back her grin when she put two and two together. No fucking way.

"Tell me Jesus did not leave you?" She laughed when he kept cursing at the floor and taking controlled breaths. "Need me to step outside and go find him for you?"

He lifted his head and shot a glare at her over his shoulder, but she saw the corner of his mouth being tugged up in a little grin. "Real funny."

Unable to hold her laughter back anymore, Fiona laughed loudly and shook her head as he finally took a last breath and came back towards her. "I'm so sorry, but I thought you were immune to that sort of thing. I mean, we've been dancing for weeks."

"Yeah," He said, stepping real close to her, which immediately cut off her laughter. "But then you slept in my bed and stripped down in front of me. Not so much immune to that."

Fiona shook her head, but couldn't help but smirk up at him. So that was the reason why? He couldn't stop picturing her half naked?

"You know, my mom warned me that boys your age are only about one thing," She teasingly said and slung her arms around his neck when he rolled his eyes. "I promised her you weren't like that."

"Yeah?" He said and then slowly cupped her face with a slight tease to his lip. He chuckled lowly and leaned down to her mouth. "Oh, you really shouldn't have done that, baby."

And then his mouth crashed against hers.

Fiona nearly lost her balance, but that same second, Adam's arms curled around her back and below her ass, and without further ado, picked her up and made her automatically cinch her legs around him. His lips were on hers, and without any incentive needed, Fiona parted her own lips and kissed him back, heat and excitement running through her whole body. Oh God, it was happening again.

Clinging onto Adam, pressed to his hips, she could feel the slight bulge pushing against her inner thigh, growing more and more as their kiss grew more heated. Fiona couldn't help but let a moan slip past her lips when he clenched her ass just right and pressed her up against his crotch.

Shit, she couldn't breathe.

Panting, Fiona felt hot all over and heard Adam breathing just as heavily beneath her lips. Still, neither of them broke the kiss, too lost in the moment. Oh Lord, if none of them took control of this soon...

Fiona felt a wet heat spread in her lower abdomen. She gulped when Adam's bulge pressed against her inner thigh again, moving a bit closer to where her legs met...

Pulling apart abruptly from his lips, Fiona sucked in a loud breath of air. Adam panted against her lips, but still didn't set her down. She didn't dare open her eyes, didn't dare to look and see how deep his eyes were...

"I-I think we need to c-catch our breaths," She stuttered out, completely winded.

"Yeah..." Adam breathed back, "let me catch yours."

And then before she could object, his lips captured hers again and sucked out whatever remaining air she had managed to find with another scorching kiss.

Letting go of an embarrassing sound, Fiona clenched her legs around him when he suddenly moved. The next moment her back crashed against one of the walls, the cold surface making her gasp.

"You make me lose my fucking mind," Adam cursed against her lips, still breathing hard. He pulled away a little, but not enough for her to find more air. "You don't even understand how crazy I am about you, Fee. God."

Oh, but she think she knew. If it was just half of what she was currently feeling, she had a pretty good idea of exactly what he felt.

"I'm crazy about you, too," She whispered back, dragging her palm down his cheek. She never noticed the faint trace of shaved stubble on his skin before.

"I mean it when I say I want to take things slow with you," He breathed back, calming down a bit. Fiona slowly dared to open her eyes and found him already looking at her with a little smile.

"Yeah," She agreed. Slow was good... temptation was hard. And speaking of which... "so what are we going to do about your new... problem?"

Adam's lips slowly widened in a little grin. Then, kissing her lips gently, he slowly set her down on the floor. "I'll figure something out, don't worry."

"I don't mind... helping you," She whispered, looking up to gauge his reaction. Adam chuckled and shook his head, then leaned down and cupped her cheek.

"Dancing is all about confidence, Fee, and damn yours has grown," He said, keeping his grin. "But you don't get it from a dick, you get it by teasing one, not riding one."

"How about... blowing?" She leaned in and whispered in his ear. She had no idea where this sudden confidence was coming, but... she think Adam was slightly wrong. She was pretty sure a lot of her new confidence had something to do with the fact that she made him lose his mind. Him – the choirboy.

Adam let out a slow, controlled breath, but grinned down at her. Shaking his head again, he then smacked her hip lightly. "Don't test me like that, princess."

She grinned back and then curled her arms around his neck when he leaned down and gently kissed her lips. She couldn't believe this boy was her boyfriend—she had a boyfriend. Her. The shy girl.

Adam was right; Who was this Fiona, and what had she done with the old one? Did she even exist anymore?

The door was smacked open, and a loud howl erupted from the hall.

Pulling apart as fast as possible, Adam cursed under his breath and rolled his eyes as Kalo stood in the doorway, bent over in laughter. Fiona awkwardly hid her face in her hand and Adam stepped behind her to hide... well, his problem.

"I fucking knew it!" Kalo screamed and kept on laughing, pointing at Adam. "It was only a matter of time! My little boy is all grown up, puta madre—"

"Go to hell," Adam replied back, flatly. "Get out."

Kalo chuckled and shot a look at Fiona. "Fucking knew it. Good luck with him, girl, he doesn't eat any bread without cheese—"

Adam stalked up and almost shoved her out of the door before slamming it shut. They could still hear Kalo howling out in the hall, and Adam shook his head.

Well... this made them three for three.

"So I guess we're telling people," Fiona said, still feeling her cheeks flaming. So the other her did still exist.

"She won't tell anyone," Adam promised, slowly walking back to her. "She's fun and games, but Kalo ain't one to spread gossip. Do you want me to go after her?"

Fiona instantly shook her head. "No, no. It's okay." She wasn't really scared that anyone would find out, but at the same time, it was all so... new. She wasn't ready if anyone started asking questions.

Adam pulled her in for a hug and laid his head on top of her head. "We really need some damn locks in this place..."

Fiona couldn't help but grin, but silently disagreed. No locks.

Because without the lack of them, Adam never would've found her.

After a long day of dancing, it came to a reluctant end as the clock struck 6pm. Even though she understood why, Fiona hated that she didn't get to have the last few hours dancing with Adam like they used to. But, to every problem there was a solution.

Walking home hand in hand with Adam, Fiona couldn't help but constantly grin at the pavement. She heard Adam chuckling as well when he saw her face, reading her mind. "I think we're breaking the rules, aren't we?"

"She never said you couldn't walk me home," Fiona pointed out. The trick to getting away with things was in the loopholes of the agreement. Her mom said she had to be home at 6pm on the dot, but she never said that Adam couldn't be the one to make sure she made it there in time.

"She's gonna beat me as if she sees me, won't she?" Adam laughed and bent his head. He then looked down at their joined hands and swung their arms back and forth. "Worth it, though."

Fiona shook her head and felt her whole body warm up. All of the constant questions bubbled up in her head. It just didn't make any sense. Why did he like her? Why was he even attracted to her? She just wasn't this lucky. A guy like him didn't fall for someone like her. Her mind needed a rational explanation, and yet every time Adam looked at her and nearly split his cheeks from smiling at her, all of her worries just seemed so stupid.

He liked her, and that was that. Period.

...But why was that?

Sighing, Fiona moved closer to Adam and laid her head on his shoulder as they walked. Adam clenched her hand in return and laid his cheek against her hair.

"I really want to take you on a date," He then said. Fiona lifted her head and blinked in slight shock.

"What?"

He stopped walking for a moment and turned to look at her. "I know you're grounded and I know you have a curfew, but I'm gonna talk to your mom real soon and ask her if I can't take you out. I want to do right by you before... if anything else happens," He said, taking a curl of her hair and tucking it into place. "Do you mind if I do that?"

Fiona's heart was soaring. She really just didn't understand what she had done to deserve him... she must've killed Hitler in a previous life or something. "No. I... I-I would like that."

Adam's smile broadened, and with that, he then leaned down and pecked her lips lightly. Fiona enjoyed the few seconds of intimacy, but then reluctantly had to pull away when her curfew was getting too close.

They continued walking to her house where, not surprisingly, her mom was waiting in the kitchen, looking out of the window as the came down the road. Adam clenched her hand, and with a last hug, Fiona embraced him tightly before feeling Adam hug her back and then let her go. He watched her walk inside her house safely before turning and walking back the way he came from.

"Was that Adam walking you home?" Her mom asked the second she stepped into the kitchen, taking off her shoes and jacket. She saw her give her a firm look, but then sighed and dumped her bag down.

"Yes."

Her mom didn't reply to that. Fiona sat down in one of the kitchen chairs, watching her mom continue to chop some veggies for the casserole on the stove.

"How serious are you with him?" Her mom then surprised her by asking. Fiona looked up, seeing her mom looking at her with a stern, yet genuine face.

"I... I want it to be serious," She whispered, afraid to call it anything more. These were the questions she was talking about earlier. "And I think Adam wants the same."

Her mom watched her for a moment, narrowing her eyes a little, but then turned back to her cooking. Fiona waited for a few minutes, expecting her to follow her question up with something, but when nothing came, she finally picked up her bag and went for her room. "I'm gonna take a shower."

She had just gotten up from the chair when her mom then finally spoke up.

"Have you had sex yet?"

Fiona stopped dead in her track and felt as every blood cell in her body relocated to her cheeks. "Mom!"

"Have you?" She insisted. Fiona damn well nearly died from embarrassment. "Or anything like that? Has he tried to touch you?"

"Mom!" Fiona hysterically said again, feeling her cheeks burn. This just wasn't happening. "No, we haven't! Adam isn't like that—I'm not like that." But weren't she a little bit, though? "I... we've only just started dating."

"So you plan on going there?"

Lord, if the universe could erase her existence right now, that would be just might great. "I-I don't know! Mom, can we please not talk about this?"

"Oh, we are gonna talk about this," Her mom stated. "You hardly even know this boy. I don't want you doing something stupid just because some guy smiles your way."

Like that wasn't how her and her dad met, she thought to herself. Fiona remembered her mom telling her when she was little how she fell in love with her dad in church after he smiled at her. Their parents disapproved of their love, and it looked like it was about to become a family-thing now. "You don't know him that well, but I do. And he's a good guy, mom. He's never not treated me nicely, and you'd know that if you bothered to get to know him better."

Fiona turned on her foot, ready to march off into her room and escape this conversation when her mom then spoke up again.

"Alright. Let's invite them over for dinner then. Him and his grandma," She said, making Fiona freeze up in her steps again and drop her jaw. She slowly turned around and looked at her mom as if she had grown an extra head. Or maybe just a new one, because the old one would never have allowed this.

"R-really?" Fiona said, almost tripping over the one word. "You... you mean..."

"If you're thinking about getting serious with this boy, I need to know him and his family better. You're about to start therapy next week, and if he's going to be a bad distraction for you, I need to know beforehand."

Fiona shook her head, but couldn't help but grin. "He won't be! Thank you, mom!"

"This doesn't mean I approve yet," She sharply said. "Ask them if they want to come over for dinner tomorrow night, then afterwards we can talk."

Fiona ran up and hugged her mom from behind, squealing into her ear. Her mom coughed a little, but patted her hands. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

"Go take that shower now," Her mom demanded, and with a kiss on her cheek from Fiona, she then did just that and ran off to her room.

For the third time that day, Fiona had to ask herself the same question again; how the hell did she get so lucky?

Everything was just coming together perfectly.
