---Cross' POV----
My mind shut down again. My body tingling and shivering as I looked up at him, my eyes slowly going half-lidded as I looked up at him.
"C-Captain..." I mumbled, only to have him stop me.
"Please. Call me Nightmare~"
I nodded weakly, leaning against him as he leaned down.
We were practically inches away when we heard a very loud, obviously fake cough. I jolted and pushed away quickly. Nightmare barely reacted, his blue eye glancing coldly at whoever had interrupted us.
It was the tear stained one. Killer? I think that's what Nightmare calls him.
He coughed awkwardly, his silver pinpricks darting from me to Nightmare, a disbelieving look on his face.
Nightmare growled. "Is there a reason you're here? Or did you just come to interrupt us randomly?"
Killer gulped harshly, sweating. "Uh...w-well..." He trailed off. "No Sir..."
"Then go away." Nightmare growled, his grip on me tightening.
Killer nodded quickly and ran off, leaving Nightmare and I alone again.
I blushed, leaning closer to him again.
"LOOK! DOLPHINS!"
I abruptly pulled away from Nightmare as I watched Horror scramble over to the other side of the ship, pointing over at something in the water.
I squirmed free of Nightmare's grip, running off to where he was pointing.
Half the rest of the crew also joined us, all leaning over the edge of the ship, eyes wide in excitement as the sleek body of a dolphin flew from the ocean, sailing in a perfect arch before diving back down onto the water, barely even making a splash.
Before we even had time to say how cool that was, three more dolphins leapt out of the water, all three of them doing little somersaults before disappearing again under the water.
I leant over the edge, looking at the sea creatures with pure fascination. "They're beautiful..." I whispered to no one in particular, not really expecting an answer.
"They are, aren't they?"
I jolted, turning to see none other than Nightmare stood next to me, his blue eye fixated on the setting sun, occasionally flickering to the dolphins or me.
I sighed, leaning against him slightly. "It's getting dark..." I murmured.
Nightmare looked down at me. "And?"
I looked up at him. "You'll all he going to sleep soon."
Nightmare chuckled, ruffling the top of my skull softly, making me blush. "Oh we won't be going to sleep for a while sweetheart..."
I blushed more. "Really?"
He nodded. "Night time is the only time the crew can really relax. We spend most of the night telling old tales of our past, stories of legends or theory's about everything. And to top it off, we drink all night long."
I blinked. "So you get super drunk?"
Nightmare laughed, pulling me closer as we watched the sun go down, the pod of dolphins glowing a soft orange now. "Pirates are famous for having a high alcohol tolerance."
I snickered. "I thought that was just a silly addition to the rumours and legends."
Nightmare grinned down at me. "Most of that stuff is true sweetheart~"
I smirked, crossing my arms. "Is that so?"
"Yes~"
I rolled my eyes, pulling him away from the edge as the sun finally set, plunging the ship into almost full darkness. The only light being from the small candle-like torches scattered around the ship.
I shivered, pressing closer to Nightmare as we sat down, the rest of the crew following suit, all sitting in a big circle, a few candle lights flaming in the middle, giving the whole crew a ghostly effect.
"So!" Horror called out, making all attention go on him. "What are we going to talk about tonight?"
Everyone went silent for a moment, thinking.
"How about..." A random crew member said, glancing round at the others. "The legend of Sirens?"
Everyone blinked, looking round at each other.
"Aquatic human or monsters with top half normal bottom half human fish?" Someone called. "Heh, sure why not?"
Horror snickered, leaning forwards. "Where do we start?"
"Heh, maybe at whether they're actually real or not?"
Nightmare snorted next to me, pulling me closer.
"Are sirens real?" I whispered as I shivered, shifting closer to him.
"Mmm, listen and you'll find out." He whispered back, frowning as he saw me shivering. "You cold?"
I hugged myself and nodded hesitantly, truthfully very cold.
He sighed and slipped off his long coat straightening it a bit before draping it around my shoulders, making me jolt in surprise.
"Keep it..." He murmured, keeping his focus away from me.
I nodded thankfully, wrapping it tightly around my shoulders. Singing happily from the warmth it gave off.
I leant against Nightmare again before looking back at the rest of the crew as they started talking about the legends of the sirens.
"Of course they're real!" A crew member called out.
"Bullshit." Another Pirate, who I believe is called Dust. "Mermaids sent out to seduce sailors and drown them? Anyone that believes that is stupid."
"Lies!" One yelled. "I've seen one with my very eyes!"
"You don't see a siren and live to tell the tale dipshit." Horror muttered, snickering to himself. "Idiot..."
The person growled. "I have! It was from a distance!"
"Mmm you probably just saw someone swimming in the water with their legs together."
"Or maybe someone just has some seaweed on their legs and you thought it was a tail!" Someone else called out, making the crew burst into laughter.
The person claiming that sirens were real growled, throwing his hands up in the air. "Someone else must have seen a Siren before! Someone? Anyone?"
The crew just laughed, waving them off as crazy.
I smiled to myself, finding the whole thing rather funny.
Suddenly they turned to Nightmare. "Captain! Sirens are real! You've seen one before! Right?!"
Everyone looked at Nightmare, their expressions turning curios.
"They're real." Nightmare said.
Everyone froze, leaning closer. "You have?"
He nodded. "They're real. And everything they say from the legends are true."
And with that he stood up, pulling me with him. "This way..." He muttered, his fingers curling round my wrist.
I nodded, rising to my feet, stumbling along as he pulled me down the deck, my face flushing a light shade of purple as Nightmare's hand slipped further down to my palm, his fingers slowly intertwining with mine.
I glanced at him nervously, my fingers squeezing his hand lightly.
He smirked, looking down at me. "Enjoying our hand holding~?"
I squeaked, going flustered. "Y-You were the one that started holding my hand!"
Nightmare laughed. "That's only because..." he let go of my hand.
Instantly I tripped on something unseen, letting out a shriek of fear.
Before I hit the floor Nightmare grabbed me and pulled me back up to my feet, smirking as he intertwined our fingers, holding my hand once more.
"You'll trip if I don't~"
I blushed, clinging to him now. My eyes scanning the floor beneath me in the darkness.
Nightmare pulled me along, taking me right to the other end of the ship, the place where there was no crew.
I blushed, looking up at him. "Nightmare?"
"Yes Cross~?" He whispered, a finger tracing my cheek.
My blush darkened, my body going weak as he moved his free hand to wrap round the my waist, pulling me into his chest. "Wh-What are you doing..." I mumbled, my mind yelling at me to push away while my body refused.
"I'm just testing something, sweetheart~" He purred, the hand stroking my cheek moving to my chin, tilting my head to that I was facing him.
At this point I had given up. I was practically willing to let him do whatever he wanted to me. I honestly couldn't care less at this point.
I was just so lost, staring into his cold blue eye, so many emotions flooding through me at once.
"W-Well whatever your testing j-just get it over with..." I stuttered, my mind praying that he wasn't going to do what I thought he might.
"Heh, if you insist~" He murmured, looking longingly at me for another moment before leaning down. Closing the gap between us and kissing me.
My eyes widened, my grip faltered and my mind exploded, any doubts or second thoughts I had in my mind being banished, my morals ripped to shreds as I wrapped my arms around the back of his neck, pressing against him as I kissed back.
The kiss only lasted a few seconds. But it was enough to make me dizzy and my soul beat faster than I've ever thought possible.
"Heh, I guess my test worked~" He whispered, his 'lips' still centimetres from mine.
"H-How?" I stuttered, the small smirk he shot me making me shiver.
"It looks like seduction is the way to get what I want out of you after all~"
