Aphmau's pov

After I fainted I didn't remember much about what happened. All I remember is feeling myself hit the water and yelling. I awoke back in the water and my heart was pounding. I looked around me and saw I was under the boat. The water felt different. Then I realized, a storm was coming from the West. I knew the large waves couldn't hurt me as long as I stayed deep into the water but what about the pirates?

I watched as a large wave crashed into the pirate boat and I saw that man fall into the water. He started sinking and he was trying to swim to the top but the waves were too strong. I can't believe I'm about to do this." I swam up to the man but he didn't seem to notice me. I grabbed his face in my hands and stared into his icy blue eyes. His hair looked darker wet and I pushed my lips against his.

He seemed shocked but then his eyes closed. I grabbed him by the arm and started swimming to the closest island. This guy is really cute.....wait! What am I thinking!? I shook my head and wondered why I was even saving a pirate. I shrugged my shoulders and kept swimming. We made it to the island but I didn't see his boat anywhere. I pushed the man onto the sand and pulled myself onto the sand.

(Okay, one thing I wanted to mention. When I write like this it means that they are thinking.)

I stared at the man and moved a strand of hair out of his face. He was breathing softly but moved and that scared me. I pulled myself off of the beach and now the rain was really heavy. I hope that man will be okay. I swam through the water to find that I have no idea where I am. I looked around not sensing that I have been in this water before. I was starting to panic.

Where am I? I looked around in the water and decided to go up to the surface. I looked around but only saw that small island I brought that man to. I decided to swim towards the island and saw the man still laying on his back as the rain fell onto his face. I was nervous to go near the man but I wanted to know if he was alive. I crawled up onto the land and stared at the guys face.

He looked so handsome as he slept. I was scared of him but I couldn't help it, I was just too curious. I moved closer to the man and luckily I wouldn't have to go back into the water for a while because the rain was keeping my tail wet. Then, I saw something shiny on the mans belt. It looked like a pocket watch. Yes, I know what that is us mermaids live a lot like humans but we just have tails and are underwater.

I reached out to the pocket watch and then when I touched it my arm was grabbed and I let out a yelp. I looked up and saw the man glaring at me. He had a tight grip on my hand and I tried to pull away. "Let go!" I yelled then realizing that I showed him that I can speak his language. He stopped glaring and was looking at me with a look of fascination.

"Let go!" I yelled again and hit him in the face with my tail. "Ah! Wait please!" He yelled as I hurried back into the water and swam as fast as I could away. That was a stupid idea Aphmau! Why would you even do that!? I was mad at myself and I could still hear the man yelling out for e to stop. I stopped sometime later and then saw something shiny in my hand. It was the pocket watch.
