I've had a shitty day today. Just three days before my birthday, my dog, my best friend, died.

His name was Sam and he had to be the sweetest and bravest dog I've ever met. There'll never be a dog in my eyes that can compare to Sam. One time some stray dog was trying to bite me and Sam chased them off and made sure they never came back. He could scare off just about anything with his bark haha. unfortunately like a lot of Labradors, he had arthritis in his hips and that restricted a lot of his movements.
He was 7 or 8 years old, he at least lived a long happy life before he died.

So I was actually having a good day until I came home. We were going down our, rather long, driveway when we noticed our other Labrador, Dixey was running towards us from our barn. That's rather unusual cause she's always either at the house or in the draw way when we come home. But today she was at the barn and looking rather frantic. She didn't stop barking at us until we noticed Sam inside the barn and stopped the car and got out. At first we thought he was just sleeping or something, until we noticed that he wasn't moving at all when we called out to him.

My mom cried for about 2 hours afterwards. I haven't really cried but I feel like a part of my soul has been ripped out and stomped on. I can't imagine how Dixey feels. She and Sam were inseparable, at least they were until now. Poor Dixey stayed at Sam's grave for a long while after we buried him. I'm going to pay more attention to her more than I have so she won't be so lonely. I don't want her to get really depressed and die as well (that can happen, trust me). I don't think I could handle that.

So don't expect any art for a long while, I've been lazy and unmotivated for a while now, but  now after this, it's going to be a very long time before I get anything done.
