One fine day I woke up
And you ceased to exist
Like a portal just opened in my room
And sucked you away.

You vanished, leaving no trace
Of your existence behind.
So many questions left unanswered
Many things left unsaid
Many conversations, unfinished.
The silence of your disappearance
Didn't take away those thoughts.

I heard these memories are scattered
In my being, like stardust in the universe
But your face in them seems to be fading away
Like hues before the night sky.

It felt like you were a cigarette
A toxic addiction;
With small puffs and three long drags
You were burnt to nothing.
No matter the effort of making you last
The ashes were the only remnant of you
And soon they too drifted in the wind.
