#22 Three Days of Weddings
Percy and Nico
They church was loaded with people, everybody wanted to see the Percy and Nico join hands in marrige. Nico already stood by the priest, his hands were sweating and he thought that he would throw up soon.
"Calm down, P is going to fall dead when he sees you in that suit." Silena, as Nico's bestman (well best woman), smiled trying to coax the anxious di Angelo.
"I better hope not, I don't want to be a widow before we even could say our vows." Nico retorted, his breath was laboured and he was really getting nervous. He hated attention and being up here, with all the eyes upon him, only made it worse.
"Tecnially you wouldn't be a widow now would you." Silena smiled and nudged Nico with her elbow, "It's going to be fine."
Nico simply nodded, he didn't want to argue with his son's ballet teacher, aka his best man.
After all things had to go great. He had been fighting for the best wedding ever. He had won on being the one by the altar, he had won about having mixed blue and black roses, he had even won on having typical italian dishes on the menue at the after party.
Percy had of course won some of the fights too, like having a blue carpet to walk down the asile on. He had also got his will through on having the twins as flower "girls" or whatever it was called.
Sally Jackson had died a couple of years ago so Percy didn't have anyone to walk down the asile with. Well that was until his long lost childhood friend Clarisse came back to town. So now, locked away in a room somewhere in the church, was Clarisse giving pep talk to Nico's soon to be husband.
Nico couldn't believe that he had agreed on being married. At first he hadn't liked the thought. It was something with the attention, all the friends and family thing, the thing about being dressed up and writing vows. No , Nico di Angelo did not want to be married. Until Percy and he had been in a fight.
"Why don't you want to marry me?"
"Because I'ma failiure and you deserve better!" Nico had screamed, hot tears ran down his cheeks.
"Nico... Nico di Angelo, I am going to marry you and you know why? Because I love you, every fiber of you." Percy sighed and pulled Nico into a hug. "I don't care that you drank or pushed me away when Annabeth was pregnant with the twins. I don't care that you cut yourself and then made a tattoo to cover the scars. I don't care that you haven't been able to keep a job for more than two months. I don't even care that you haven't ut your hair since last December."
Percy was chuckling by now and Nico couldn't help but cry.
"I love you too, dweeb, and not only because of all the nice words but because you always find a way to cheer me up no matter what. It's also kind of nice that you don't give a shit about my background."
"So you will marry me?"
"Yeah, there is something more to you than just your looks."
Silena made a move to say something to Nico when they heard the first note of the song, the song that signaled that Percy was coming.
Everybody turned around to see the groom, the other groom. Nico took a deep breath before turning too, he was scared, what if Percy had bailed? That was the reason why Nico wanted to stand by the altar, it left him no choice but to stay.
But there he was... Percy had a dark blue suit on and a black tie with blue roses on it. Nico had a black suit and a blue tie with black roses on it. For once, Percy had also brushed his hair. His sea green eyes sparkled when they landed on Nico.
Clarisse whispered something making Pecry laugh, for some reason, Nico wasn't nervouse anymore for he knew that wherever Percy was, he would be there too.
Benjamin and Sebastian
"Nervouse?" Annabeth asked. Sebastian's twin sister was helping him with the tie.
"No." Sebastian smiled.
When their fathers had married, Nico always spoke of how nervous he was before he saw Percy walking down the asile. Although, Sebastian didn't feel like that, not at all. Percy had also spoken about an unknown fear, a fear that had crept up on him during the evening. Sebastian's father often spoke that the fear had almost swallowed him whole if it hadn't been for Nico. Even though the evening was far away and even though Sebastian and Benjamin wouldn't spend hours on a trip to some distant country, he knew that that fear, never would come. Because if there was one thing he was certain about then that was Benjamin.
Yes, Benjamin Solace would be good to him. That was why he had agreed on taking his last name. Sebastian Solace, it did have a nice ring to it didn't it?
"It's starting!" Annabeth squeled.
For a small moment, Sebastian was sad that their mother wouldn't be able to see them marry, or have kids on their own. It was weird, he had never thought so much of his mother, he had after all both Percy and Nico. So why bother thinking about her now?
Then he felt Percy's warm hand in his and a reasuring pat on the shoulder from his twin sister.
Walking down the asile, hearing the priest talk, seeing Benjamin smile and speak his vows all went by in a blur. But the it was Sebastian's turn to say his vows.
He cleared his throat, took a tighter grip on Benji's hands and then closed his eyes for a moment, when he opened his eyes his started speaking.
"Benjamin Thomas Dakota Solace. We met when I was still a young and reckless boy. We met before I had the courage to perfom on stage and before I had the courage to believe in myself. After meeting you, after getting to know you, things changed. Many say that loves changes you and in a way I think it does, but I know that it wasn't just the love I had for you that changed me, it was you. Your laugh in the morning, your simple gesturs that you loved me, the way you spoke to other people. I fell hard and I fell fast, I changed quickly.
"Before you I was a loner, Mellie would force me to parties and she even forced a few laughs from me. After you... after you I wasn't lonley, I didn't have to force myself to laugh." Benjamin had started to cry just like I had cried from his speech. "Benjamin Thomas Dakota Solace, I love you with all my heart and I shall forever love and adore what we have and I wish to spend the next eighty years cleaning up after you. I wish that the next eighty years will be all about love, happyness and a whole lot of you."
Annabeth and Charlie
Annabeth's brother had been twenty-two when he married the love of his life. Her father had married his love at the age of twenty-seven.
She had been at both weddings, she had cried and laughed and wished the best of luck to all of them on both occasions. And even though Annabeth and Charlie had been going strong for the past years she never believed that she herself would one day have a wedding day.
The date was the second of june. It was a warm summers day and Annabeth had a white short dress on. She didn't want to be married in a church. Yes it was beautiful, yes it was amazing, but no she didn't want that fariytale. Instead she and Charlie Beckendorf had been married through a paper, a simple signing and giving the white paper sheet back to the smiling lady behind he reception.
They did have an after party. Beckendorf had a simple tuxedo on, no tie, and he looked happier than ever.
The small tent that they had put up in the backyard of Nico's and Percy's house was full of people. It was laughter, it was music, it was tears. It was just the way Annabeth wanted it. Well most of all she wanted one of her black dresses and her knee high boots but Sebastian would skin her if she wore that. So former Annabeth Jackson Chase now Annabeth Beckendorf had on a white simple dress and a pair of white flats. Her blond hair was in loose curls and she wanted to puke from all the pureness.
In the back of the tent Sebastian and Benjamin was seated by a table, their new born son was held by Percys strong arms. Somewhere in the tent was Reyna and Silena, gossiping about dresses and decorations, Silena with a big smile and Reyna with a look that would kill you. Somewhere in the tent would Charlie's father be, Annabeth had never met him because he lived down in greece but now he had come. Along side Charlie's father was also his mother, two brothers, four sisters and five cousins. The only family Annabeth had was her fathers, her twin brother and her brother in-law.
A nice ring echoed through the backyard. Then people screamed and cheered for speeches, possibly a love speech between the newly weds?
"First of all I want to say thank you all for coming! And a big thank you for my father in-laws for letting us destroy this beautiful backyard." Charlie smiled sweetly, his hand was in Annabeth's. "And thank you Mrs. Beckendorf for finally marrying me."
"Well, I made abet with Blackjack so of course." Annabeth said teasingly, a big whoop was heard from the back, meaning that Blackjack was here and living the dream.
"I have fallen inlove time and time again. I had many girlfriends before Annie here but they don't matter at all. The love of my life is standing here, right next to me, my world wouldn't spin if it wasn't for her smile and my heart would stop beating if I couldn't be able to see her face at least five thousands times a day.
"Annabeth has been my cliff, through thick and thin, through sadness and happiness, she has been there and I wish that I will be able to repay that. Not only with love and support but by being there for her, every step of the way."
Charlie looked over at her with a look that said it's-your-turn.
"I remembered when Blackjack gave me tickets to see Apollo. I was excited and delirious. When we got there, it was an auidtion to a Disney movie. I got to be the main character and even though my father never suspected anything, Charlie was always there to rehearse lines, songs and dance steps with me.
"I remember the very first date we had. It was a concert, Bring Me The Horizon, and through the whole thing Charlie wouldn't stop dancing or sing along to the songs. I knew I was inlove right there and then. So you really have already repayed me, you have made me so happy through the years and you have given me countless memories. I wish that for these up coming years that nothing will change. I love you Charlie and it is an honor to be a Beckendorf." A soft kiss made everything else drown out around Annabeth.
Yes, her brother was married and had a son, her fathers, which had grown up and become old lived happily together. And yes, even though she was happy and had a family, now she was a part of an even bigger family; and she knew that in a couple of years she, herself, would have kids running around, screaming.
If she had to desribe what she felt right now she would think for a minute and then reply.
"The color pink. Pink like our love, for love is not only about burning and being passionate, it's about finding rescue and comfort. So I feel pink, for pink is not sizzling, yet nor completely soothing, it's a balance."
