Imagine laying in bed next to Syd. He was quietly snoring next to you with his head gently resting on your shoulder. You were wide awake staring at the ceiling, stuck having one of your sleepless nights again. You had tried everything and after you'd counted at least one hundred sheep, you decided to give up and just lie there. Syd snuggled closer to you which made you smile and turn your head towards him. He looked so sweet with his long lashes resting on the tops of his cheeks. His hair was its usual tousled brown mess, framing his innocent looking face perfectly. His mouth hung open just a bit and you giggled as he let out a little snore. You covered your mouth to quiet yourself so you wouldn't wake him. He shifted slightly but stayed fast asleep. You smiled and closed your eyes to make one final attempt at drifting off.

"Darling, don't be so silly," you heard Syd say in a sleepy voice.

Your eyes shot open in confusion, "Huh?" You replied quietly.

"You know that's not true at all," he said, and this time you were aware of what was happening.

Syd was still asleep, he was sleep talking, which was not unusual, but always amusing. You giggled as he continued.

"You are, (y/n), and always will be," he said in a quiet sleep filled voice.

"I'm what?" You whispered, genuinely curious about what was going on inside this boy's head.

"Beautiful," he breathed, "only mine."

You blushed as you laid there listening to him, "I love you so much, Syd," you whispered happily.

He stirred and began to blink his eyes after you spoke. He slowly started to focus on you and a sleepy smile spread across his face when he became aware.

"Hello," he said with a little laugh, "what are you doing up?"

"Just listening to you sleep talking," you said with a laugh.

He turned bright red and covered his face in embarrassment, "Oh no, what did I do this time?"

You removed his hands from his face so you could see his pretty green eyes, "Made me realize that I am truly the happiest girl in the world because of you, Syd Barrett."

A smile graced is face and he tugged you closer to him so he could wrap his arms around you. You buried your face in his warm chest and smiled as he placed a kiss to the top of your head. You finally dozed off with the best of feelings inside you as you spent the rest of the night in his arms.
