Danny: I'm not sure...    Hearing the news of Delphine trying to kill someone is a lot to take in...

Freddy: Let's go over the order of events again, taking into account Delphine's attempt to murder. Then, we can adjust it if something sticks out.

Suzy: Sure, I'll start! After the poker game last night, Delphine went to the nurse's office and stole one of the scalpels. She made a mess while doing so, though.

Candy: She took the scalpel back to her room for later, then began writing the letter.

George: She had to use parts of French in it, due to her difficulty with the English language. Once she finished writing it, she slipped it underneath the culprits' door.

Rebecca: Then, she took the scalpel and headed off to the library. The culprit must've gotten the letter and went to the library as it said.

Emily: Once the culprit got there...     Delphine attacked them with the scalpel. They ended up getting into a fight, which ended with the culprit pushing the ladder onto Delphine...

Freddy: ...Wait a moment.

Peppa: Hm?

Freddy: ...When would the culprit have the chance to push the ladder onto Delphine?

Gerald: Oh, good point. If they were in a fight, then the chance to get the ladder to crush Delphine would've been a bit frantic...

Rebecca: So...    How could that have been accomplished?

Zoe: ...Maybe the ladder was pushed onto Delphine...     By Delphine.

Pedro: Really? More stuff that was unexpectedly done by the victim?

Zoe: What I mean is, maybe the culprit threw Delphine into the ladder, which caused it to fall on her. 

Emily: But Zoe...        That's quite a stretch. Is there anything that proves it...?

Zoe: I have a few good reasons. Listen closely, everyone.

Zoe: Not that I can think of.

Zoe: Unless the fight got taken to the second floor, which in that case we'd need to rethink the whole scenario...

Peppa: Hey, Zoe...      I think that the fight did end up on the second floor.

Zoe: Hm? How can you tell?

Peppa: I found a piece of dark fabric on the second floor. It seemed to be torn from something.

Danny: Maybe it was ripped off from a piece of clothing?

George: If it was, then that means that the fight had occurred on the second floor. And that nullifies not only Zoe's theory, but also our entire current idea of how the case went.

Zoe: Damn...     We really do need to rethink the whole scenario...

Kylie: So the fight ended on the second floor. Then how could the ladder have fallen on the ground?

Peppa: ...

Peppa: There's a way...      It's a bit loony, but it makes sense...

Peppa: I just need a way to word it.

Edmond: Hm...        If that was so, I'd say her first reaction would be to try and grab onto something. And the barrier surrounding the second floor would've been out of her reach by the time she reacted.

Pedro: H-How can you predict that with such confidence?

Candy: Picking up where Edmond was, the closest thing that would be in Delphine's reach by the time she reacted would've been a ladder.

Suzy: So she must've reached out to grab it, however when she did, it fell with her...

Richard: ...Hm.

Gerald: Ah. Excuse me Peppa. I didn't think that what you said had a point...

Peppa: ...It's fine.

Richard: Well. Now comes a difficult stage. Accusation.

Suzy: Oh. This is gonna go well...

Kylie: What about Wendy? Maybe she sabotaged the system by getting herself killed?

Emily: That...    Has to be the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Peppa: Yes, Danny.

Peppa: I...     Found this notepad on one of the tables on the first floor. I took a read through some of the pages, and I found out...    It was Wendy's.

Candy: You found her notepad on one of the tables...?

Kylie: HAH! I knew I had something going!

Pedro: So...     Wendy's the killer?

Richard: No. I thought it's obvious by now that it's Su-

Suzy: QUIET.

George: I don't think Wendy's the killer. Like Emily said: Why would she get herself killed if she was the one who killed Delphine?

Gerald: Then...     She must have some kind of other role in this...

Peppa: Wendy must've been the person who saw the body first. IE: The third discoverer in the Playgroup File.

Richard: Wait...      If Wendy saw the body first, then...

Edmond: ...That's what she meant by what she saw last night. She must've seen the killer herself...      

Freddy: Plus, she could've easily been woken up by the crash the ladder made.

Emily: But...     Surely the culprit wouldn't let Wendy escape with that knowledge that easily?

Gerald: Agreed, Emily. That would end up incriminating them when the morning came...

Suzy: The culprit must've knocked her out!

Peppa: Good point...      The only question is how?

Freddy: Well, there's only one thing at the crime scene that could knock Wendy out without killing her, right?

Peppa: That's right. It must be...

Peppa: I got it...!

Peppa: You're talking about the book, right Freddy?

Freddy: Yep. And that alters our plan of the case yet again: Rather than the culprit getting the book after the ladder had crushed Delphine, they must've taken it out spontaneously to knock out Wendy as fast as possible.

Candy: Wouldn't that have gotten Wendy's blood on it, and not Delphine's?

Edmond: I don't believe so. A hit with the book that close up wouldn't have enough momentum to cause bleeding. It would've stayed dry.

Candy: Ah. Ok.

George: So...     Delphine was pushed off of the second floor, and tried to grab onto the ladder, bringing it down with her. The culprit ran down to her body, saw Wendy, panicked, grabbed the book and whacked Wendy in the head with it. I think that's all the adjustment to the plan that we've discussed in the last 20 minutes...

Kylie: Well! This is most of the plan down, isn't it?

Edmond: Sure is. Now, there's only one major thing that I think we need to discuss...

Peppa: ...Oh god.

Danny: Yep...     Who killed Delphine?
