February 20th

     I wish I knew exactly when I was going to die. I wish they would just let me know when it is going to happen.

    I know people who die naturally or have heart attacks or something don't get to know when they die either. But this feels different. I feel like I should have some kind of a countdown on my phone so I can get all of the things done that I need to before I die.

     I just hope that if nothing's else, I get the chance to go to prom. Maybe that will be the night Dylan finally realizes he has feelings for me.

Dylan shakes his head. Emily didn't get her last wish. She never got to go to her senior prom.

In fact, she was reported missing that day.

*Flashback*

Dylan's mom smiles as he comes down the stairs all dressed up and ready to go to his prom.

She sets her camera down to answer the phone call making noise in her house right now.

She answers the call and immediately hears Emily's mom's distressed voice.

Emily's mom explains to Dylan's mom that her daughter is missing. Dylan's mom's heart immediately drops. She could never imagine how it would crush her if Dylan went missing. He is all she has. She wouldn't be able to survive without him. He is her world.

Emily's mom explains that she is about to call the police but she had to take a second to ask if Dylan has seen her. If anyone knows where Emily is, it's Dylan. After all, she did say she was going over his house the night before.

"Dylan, have you seen Emily today?" His mom asks.

Dylan shakes his head. "Not since yesterday." He replies. "Why, is she okay?"

Dylan's mother holds one finger up for him to wait to speak so she can hear what Emily's mom is saying.

"No, he said he hasn't seen her since yesterday." Dylan's mom replies so Emily's mom can be updated.

This statement makes Emily's mom cry even harder. She is going to report her daughter missing as soon as she hangs up the phone.

Dylan's mom sets the phone down on the counter and turns slowly towards her son.

"What's going on? Is Emily okay? What is happening mom." Dylan asks.

He is still mad at Emily because of the fight they had yesterday but at the end of the day, they are best friends and he still cares very much about her. He still wants to make sure she is okay despite being angry at her.

The look on his mother's face terrifies Dylan. He knows there is bad news coming.

"Honey, Emily is missing." His mom tells him what is going on.

Dylan grabs his hand and turns around to walk in a circle around the kitchen. "Oh my god!" Dylan exclaims.

"What?" His mom asks.

"We were fighting yesterday and then I stormed off all dramatic and now she's missing." Dylan worries that he is the reason Emily is gone.

"Dyl, it's not your fault." His mom tries to console him.

"What if she ran away because of me?!" Dylan shouts, angry that he may be the reason for Emily disappearance.

"I'm sure it's not because of you Dylan. There must have been something else-"

"I told her I wish we never met." Dylan admits, sitting down in a kitchen chair. "She did something so- so terrible to me and I- I told her I wish we never met."
