Chapter Thirty Five

                   BETTY.

               Target acquired.

The plan was simple. Find Demi and somehow destroy her phone. The first part was quite easy, the second? Not so much.

The cafeteria was loud and noisy with students jabbering. Betty stared at her target at a far end of the room scribbling something down in some book.

"Gahhhh, how am I supposed to do this?" She whispered staring at the device on the white plastic table before Demi. "What would Vicky do?"

Probably march up there , rip apart the book Demi's writing in while Tokunbo sneaks the phone off the table and smash! smash! smash!

So how would she pull it off? She sighed, fished out her phone from her bag and dialed Vicky's number.

                  "Betty?"

"Hey. Have you guys found the back up yet?"

                  "Well, yeah. Kind of."

Betty furrowed her brows in confusion. "Meaning?"

She heard Vicky sigh. "Tokunbo got in too late. Some dude escaped with the flash drive."

"No way! Oh my God this is bad. What if it's one of the Skylars?"

"I don't know Bets. At least we know Demi doesn't have a back up. It's all up to you now. Please destroy that phone Betty. Now. Our lives and future depends on you."

                 She swallowed. "B..But how? I can't. I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I don't-"

Vicky scoffed. "Grow some liver Bets. Phones are pretty easy to destroy. Accidents happen. "

                 She sighed. "Sure whatever."

"Good. Just dump water on the thing or something. Make sure it's ruined beyond repair. Tokunbo and I are going to search the house for clues. All the best."

Betty groaned in frustration as Vicky hung up. She threw another look  at Demi who seemed so engrossed in whatever she was writing, an evil smirk on her face.

                  I've got this.

Drawing in deep breaths, she reached for her water bottle, squared her shoulders and stalked towards the corner. The dark haired girl looked up from her book in question.

                   "Can I help you?"

She wondered how the evil witch was able to act like everything was okay. Like their lives were normal and she wasn't a psycho bent on ruining everyone's lives.

                     "Hi."

Demi hissed and rolled her eyes. "Get out of my face Elizabeth."

Well there's no way around this. The hard way it is.

"Sure." She smiled in response, opening her water bottle. "I'll just do this and be out of your face in a second." And with the smile still on her face, she emptied the bottle on the device.

"What the heck!" Demi screamed, standing up suddenly.

Betty grabbed the phone before the latter could, threw it to the ground and began to stomp on it, screaming like a banshee.

...Make sure it's ruined beyond repair...

"What are you doing?! Get away from my phone." Demi bellowed charging towards her.

She doubled over as a sharp pain hit her stomach suddenly. Her vision slightly blurry.

"No. No. nononono. No! You've totally spoilt my phone! You vile imbecile!"

Betty felt her lips part in a wide smile.

The punch was totally worth it.
