Daniel Thornton was born into riches. But he was far from the stereotypical Kook royalty he was raised around.

Daniel Thornton was someone who worked at The Wreck because he wanted to make his own source of money to pay for college and not depend on the sugar coated spoon he was fed from. He always tried to feed the stray animals on the island and made a point to learn the names of the less fortunate there. He always made sure he smiled at strangers because 'you don't know who's having a bad day'. Daniel Thornton was someone who didn't see any differences between himself and the Pogues on the other side of the cut. (Despite how badly that pissed off his brother). Daniel Thornton was someone who was so unbearably sweet and who the world was undeserving of at times.

Barry Russo was nothing like that.

A drug dealer living in a trailer park who knew that Kook royalty like Daniel Thornton had no business being around someone like him. But he couldn't make himself stay away and it seemed neither could Daniel. One high hook up turned into two and soon drugs didn't even need to be involved for the two of them to get together.

Daniel had only one goal set for himself: Save enough money to go to college and leave behind the life he had been created from, instead create one from his own two hands. Though when Kiara Carrera finds him a day after Hurricane Agatha asking him to come with her and the rest of the 'Pogues' on a boat ride, he agrees. He didn't know that unplanned boat ride would end up with him going on a makeshift treasure hunt to find gold from the Royal Merchant.

But if there was anything living in the Outer Banks had taught him it was that life was unexpected. And the last thing he expected was to fall in love with his hookup while trying to survive finding hidden gold.

anyways hi hello! welcome to my obx fic! i started rewatching the show and forgot how fine barry was so this fic happened. the plot line will change slightly, yes, with max sort of taking barry's place as rafe's right hand man (he's far more unhinged let's be honest). but asides from that it will remain the same. and besides if yall wanna write fics for rafe's psychotic bitch ass then i can write one for barry!!

daniel is heavily inspired by evan buckley's character and i may or may not have stolen a storyline for a subplot for him so be on the look for that hehe (:

also as far as ages go, if my information is correct the pogues are between 16-17 in season one and barry and rafe are between 19-20. for this case, i will be making the pogues 17 in season one and danny will be 19 with barry being 20. so danny is like the pogues older brother in many ways so i do not want to see you shipping ANY of them istg i will delete the comments. that being said while this story does involve the romance of danny and barry, the found family danny has with the pogues will also play a huge role in the fic.
