The Loop (24th)

Phyllis power walked down a cobbled highstreet, vigor was clear.

She entered into a store with dirty windows.

Scanning around the establishment; cluttered with shelves loaded with book.
Phyllis chose to move forward towards an older woman at a till, only to catch Phill in her pariferal vision.

"Morning" she greeted pleasantly as she aproached.

"Morning" he flatly greeted whilst he moved books from a shelf to a trolley.

Phyllis moved closer in order to distract Phil from his task, placing herself in front of the trolley
"Do you know of an unsual kid with a stutter named Fent?"

Her words startled Phil, who turned and stood to face her, with a couple of dark colored books in his arm.
"I know Fent" he slowly offered.

"Oh good! Got nowhere with him, right sulky brat he is" Phyllis claimed with relief, ignoring Phill's uneasy demeanour as she continued
"He's a decendant of Calci right?" she asked.

"No..." Phill snapped.

"He isn't!" Phyllis loudly exclaimed.

"Yes, Phyllis, he's a..." he ushered her forward and continued once she was closer "Fent is a vampire, he's what Calci calls a 'second genetation' - humans made by the likes of her"

"Really?" Phyllis quizzed, though her tone and raised brow made the sarcasm apparent.

"This is serious" he asserted.

"Really, because he seems like a joker to me" she began to answer.

"Under no circumstances do you meet with him" Phill ordered with a pointed finger.

"I already met him" Phyllis said.

"No, no you didn't did you?" Phill paniced.
He sighed, placed the books beside him, then pointed passed Phyllis
"we need to see Cal', urgently"

Calci lay sleeping in a darkened room, a very dim light provided by a series of large candles in glass jugs placed on top of the barrels, now relocated either side of the door.
On closer expedition, the candles not only illuminated that door, but the heavily soiled heads popping out of each barrel; surrounding them, and barely concealing them.

She opened her eyes slowly, looking towards the door for about 10 seconds before a heavy barrage of knocing started.
"WHAT!" she bellowed loudly in a harsh tone.

"We have an emergency" Phill exclaimed through the door
"I need to come in" he said whilst thumping on the door.
He was inputting the combination.

Entering the room, Phyll lead the way - this instantley perked Calci up.

"Phyllis. Lovely to see you" she said as she rose from under her blanket.

"Phyllis met Fent last night" Phill quickly relayed.

"She did?" Calci seemed perplex
"you did?" she asked Phyllis, who nodded.

"Calci before we speak" Phyllis instantely began "I've been made aware that I owe you an apology, I was hosilte and insensitive to your specific need"

"You where?" Calci quizzed, clearly sleepy, she allowed herself time to think
"yes, you where, however, that's behind us"

"Good" Phyliss said pleasantly "now, we need to talk liberties and boundaries" Phyllis claimed as she switched on the light, causing Calci to wince and move backwards to her bed.
Phyllis walked towards Calci's bed and took a seat next to the slightly irrate woman "last night..." Phyllis continued before becoming frank "a boy named Fent followed me home, though I'm all for people being supportive of you, I question his character and feel Phill and yourself are being taken advantage of"

"By who?" Calci asked.

"Fent" Phill cut in, gaining their attention before moving towards them
"she still doesn't believe you're a vampire, Fent met her before the meeting he planned to warn her off"

"Well Phyllis, trouble followed you hun" Calci cryptically stated as she took Phyllis' hand and continued
"he's volitile, he likely collected your scent already and has attempted to claim you" she stated as she looked towards Phill
"he's likely after your house"

"So a common and violent child has is taking advantage of a buisness owner and a pensioner, and now he's set his sights on my house?" she enquired.

Calci looked on a little confused at Phyllis, before turning to look at Phill, who wore a matching expression.

Elsewhere in the store...

Channel sat at the checkout, on her phone. The sceen displayed a pallet of colours that blurred into the next and ranged in shade. Carefully, she moved her finger around the sensitive collection; searching for the best shade of red, however, her phone vibtated violently and a pop-up appeared on the screen.
"Crap" she yelled at the device.
Choosing to respond to the pop-up; Channel selected the icon; it took her a particular message...
'Snakes are both common and rare...'
