During the period where Nilo was healing, Alexis was anxious to know his wellbeing. There had been no way for her to find out and Nilo had no way to let her or his twin know. The fox disciples had all took turn in watching over him. With his injury and his fellow disciples' brothers and sisters close watch, it was difficult for him to meet up with them. Before any of them knew it, nearly a year had gone before Nilo had completely healed and was able to meet up with Alexis and Cyde.

"Nilo!"

As soon as Alexis saw Nilo, she burst into tears and rushed into him. Startled, Nilo found himself being tightly hugged by the young woman. After a moment, he laughed softly and patted her back, letting her know he was well.

"Are you really heal?" Alexis look at Nilo and then turned her head to the side as if wanting to look at his back. "At that time, that girl's black flame had hit your back. I saw how horrible it_"

"I'm fine." Nilo shifted to get Alexis attention from his back – clearly reluctant to let her see.

"If you're truly fine, let us see your back." Alexis could see his hesitation.

"Alexis, I..."

"Let me see!" Alexis was too anxious, believing Nilo injury had not completely heal so she pulled at his robe – revealing the top portion of his back.

Her sharp gasp let Nilo knew that his scarred skin was exposed. Nilo tried to pull his robe back up but Cyde stopped him by yanking it further down. Tears fell from Alexis eyes as she could see Nilo's once smooth and strong back now crinkled and warped. With a heavy sigh, Nilo yank sharply away from Cyde hold to fix his robe.

"I'm fine." Nilo look at Cyde before turning to the crying Alexis. "Don't cry Alexis."

"But..." Alexis closed her eyes as if to stop the tears.

Helplessly, Nilo reached out and brought her head to his chest.

"It doesn't hurt anymore." Nilo spoke softly. "Don't cry."

Alexis hugged Nilo and nodded her head against his chest.

"Who have been taking care of your injuries?" Cyde suddenly question Nilo.

"Huh?" Nilo looked at Cyde before answering.

"Was it the fox?"

Confused, Nilo looked at his twin seeing no emotion in those dark eyes.

"Yes." Nilo replied since the fox did took care of him now and then.

"I see..." Cyde look away.

Before Nilo get to interrogation why Cyde was acting strangely, Alexis left his arms to question how he have been healing the past year. Because they haven't seen each other for so long, their conversation went on and on – not noticing the quiet Cyde had not paid any attention to them. By the time the sun was setting, Alexis and Nilo realized their conversation went on far too long.

"I should head back." Nilo sighed softly. "Now that I've healed, that fox expects me to brush her fur as usual..."

"We'll switch." Cyde had already taken Nilo's black slash before he stated.

"Huh?" Nilo and Alexis spoke at the same time.

"Rest well brother."

Cyde toss his white slash to Nilo and walked toward the direction of the Valley of Plum Blossom Trees. Alexis smiled softly believing that Cyde cared for Nilo so took his place to do the tedious tasks. Standing beside Alexis, Nilo watched as Cyde walk off, wondering why his unsympathetic twin was suddenly being so nice.
