No matter much Blaze Jager was against his sister's relationship with Lukas Rivera, there was nothing he could do to stop it. Has much as he hate to admit it, Lukas Rivera was more than serious with Maxie - the man was out right obsess with her. Blaze never knew the cold, stoic man could fall for anyone and yet, seeing the him hovering over Maxie every single day was a revelation. It was like the man was afraid she would disappear or something.

                Meanwhile, Maxie continued to set forward her plan to be free from Jager Corp's CEO position. As soon as Blaze Jager turned twenty-one, Maxie made quick work to prepare for the upcoming CEO selection. Seeing how eager Maxie was with resigning, Blaze begin to hesitate. Four years ago he was foolish to think he was capable of handling the position. Only after he lived in San Francisco and started his own venture that he realize the difficulty in running a company. Now he wasn't sure if he had the capability to run a large corporation like Jager Corp.

"Maxie... maybe we should wait another six years before I_"

"What did you say my dear little brother?" Maxie's eyes were like knives ready to stab him if he said the wrong words.

"Maxie... I don't know if I'm ready for the position. I_"

"Of course you're not ready" Maxie smirked.

"So then why can't you help me for another 6 years? I swear by then I'll be ready to_"

"I won't be here after six years Blaze"

"What?" Blaze was confused.

"I might be in Milan, Kiyoto, or Cairo" Maxie grinned. "I'm going to be on permanent vacation"

"Maxie..." Blaze sighed wryly. "I seriously need your help"

"What are you afraid of Blaze?" Maxie cross her arms. "Failure? Have you forgotten what I said before?"

                I rather you try and fail than not try at all. Blaze remember those words clearly.

"You're really going to resign?"

"Yup"

                With a sigh, Blaze Jager knew Maxie would step down as CEO whether he is ready or not.

"You're out of your goddamn mind!"

                For the second time, Maxie faced the majority board members of Jager Corp. Just like when Maxie Luther was nominated to the CEO position, Blaze Jager faced the same angry, livid crowd. Insults and complaints flew back and forward, while Maxie sat nonchalantly beside the silent Blaze Jager.

"Ladies and gentlemen" Maxie was used to handling the bunch of old men and women - all with their conservative and traditional mind-set. "Must we do this the second time? You may have time to argue, but I have better things to do"

"You horrid girl! How dare you treat this company like_"

"What are you even doing here 4th grandmother" Maxie no longer cared to play nice - not that she played nice to begin with. "As I recalled, you already sold your measly 1% share"

                The woman was shocked that Maxie knew what she had done in secret. She had needed a large sum of money for a side investment. She had trusted one of her broker to temporarily sell her share in Jager Corp. in secret until she is able to buy it back. She had done it before and so didn't think that anyone would found it. Little did she knew, Maxie had an insider who bought the share as soon as the woman was foolish enough to sell it.

"Mr. Durbar" Maxie lifted her hand to receive the white folder. "Thank you for selling your share in such a cheap rate"

"You little bit_"

"Now-now" Maxie laughed softly. "No need for vulgarity here in Jager Corp. Ms. Holt, please call security and have non-board members escorted out of the room"

"You_" The woman stood, shaking with humiliation and anger. "How dare you_"

"I dare" Maxie coldly look at the woman.

"D_ darling" The woman knew she couldn't fight Maxie with words so she turned her teary face to her old husband. "How could you let_"

                Cain Jager looked at his 4th wife with an even colder expression. Knowing well she had no one to depend, the woman's teary expression turned angry. She left the boardroom without another care.

"Now back to business" Maxie regarded the remaining board members. "Blaze Jager has 34% in hand. Unless someone has 35% or higher, the CEO position belong to him."

                No one said a word despite the anger radiating in the air.

"He's not capable" For the first time in decades, Cain Jager spoke out during a CEO selection.

                Many of the board members were immediately relieved and pleased by the old man's words. After all the man held the most shares at 45%. His words held the final deciding factor.

"So Mr. Jager, you finally decided to make a move" Maxie smile was scary sharp causing Cain Jager to sense that the young woman had expected his statement. "Unfortunately, it's already too late"

                Everyone in the room was confused.

"Darling" Maxie copied Cain Jager's fourth wife sweet voice. "I need you"

                To Maxie's call, a tall handsome man entered the board room in a handsome Italian custom suit. Standing up, Maxie shamelessly wrapped her arms around the younger man's waist and lifted to her toes to kiss his cheek. Everyone in the room was completely stunned because they all recognized the heir Lukas Rivera. They all knew well that the young man had accomplished a lot during the last four years. They just didn't know exactly how much.

"L_ Lukas?"

                Ruby Jager was also present in the boardroom because her father had given her 2% of his share. That 2% had originally been for Dustin Jager, but because of the wager the man made with Maxie, his only son had to forfeit his right to ever step foot in Jager Corp. The shame and humiliation caused the man to hate Maxie to the bone.

"What are you doing here?" Ruby Jager ignored the way Maxie had her arms around the handsome man's waist while she placed her cheek against his strong chest.

                Lukas Rivera didn't bother to acknowledge Ruby Jager, while his eyes gazed down warmly at the playful Maxie. Not only Ruby Jager, but everyone in the room was stunned to see the soft look on the usually expressionless man.

"You brought the shares?"

                Lukas Rivera nodded and tilted his head back to show Maxie that one of his assistant was nearby with the file in hand.

"Thank you" Maxie smiled and let go of Lukas Rivera to receive the black file. "I didn't want to use this card but since Mr. Jager is participating - it can't be helped"

                Maxie pulled out the bond paper showing everyone the Jager Corp.'s share papers.

"You all heard of Plum Blossom Incorp. right?" Maxie smiled slyly. "So it seems, my darling was the one who founded the company. The same company who manage to obtain 10% of Jager Corp.'s share - directly from the Owner Mr. Jager"

                Cain Jager frowned at the realization.

"45% now goes to Blaze Jager"

                Everyone in the boardroom went silent.

"Even so, there is still 55% that could go against him" Ruby Jager spoke calmly.

                Instantly, many faces brightened at the realization. The game wasn't over.

"Of course" Maxie continued to smile. "Let's not waste anymore time then and cast your votes"

                Cain Jager second son had been years bribing his way to the top - promising all good things to those follow him. Naturally, he was nominated as CEO. Many had believed the man was much more capable and knowledgeable when it comes to Jager Corp so was confident that 55% of the votes would go to him. So when the results revealed he only have 40% vote while Blaze Jager had 60%, he was completely mortified.

"Why!" The 2nd son had worked all his life for the CEO position so could not accept losing to a 21 year-old the second time around. "Why would you choose an incapable fool over me?"

"We don't know if Blaze Jager is capable to oversee the company or not" A board member who voted for Blaze spoke calmly. "But in the last six years, Ms. Luther had proven to us that she had far better foresight than anyone in this room. Although I prefer that she does not resign from the position, I trusted Ms. Luther judgment in who the next CEO for Jager Corp should be"

                Other board members who voted for Blaze felt the same way and nodded silently.

"Alan?" Cain Jager was also curious as to why his old friend chose to vote for Blaze - someone who was clearly not ready for the leadership position.

"I trust my grandson's judgment" Alan Rivera chuckled softly as he looked over proudly at his grandson.

"The votes have been cast" Maxie ignored everyone while she looked at the secretary in charge of the board meeting.

"The next CEO of Jager Corp. is Mr. Blaze Jager" The secretary announced nervously with Maxie's stern stare directed at him.

                Silence spread throughout the boardroom while the 2nd son fell to his seat - despair and disappointment shown clearly on his face. Ruby Jager tried to comfort her father but did not what she could say or do. All she could do was vent her anger and frustration at Maxie - the person who had caused her father to lose his long life dream.

"Because of you, Jager Corp will be destroyed" Ruby Jager could no longer maintain her calm, saintly composure in the face of Maxie's taunting grin. "You and your cousin will be the cause to the company's downfall"

"Oh don't be such a drama queen little Ruby" Maxie smirked. "So what if Blaze run the company to the ground. What's the big deal?"

                What's the big deal? Not only Ruby was startled, everyone else in the room was as well.

"If you destroy this company, make a better one" Maxie turned to give Blaze her deep dimple smiles. "If you burn the company to the ground, rebuilt a fireproof one"

                Blaze Jager couldn't help but smile - feeling empowered by Maxie's straightforward and courageous words. Even hardcore businessmen like Cain Jager and Alan Rivera were enlightened by her words.

"Maxie..." Lukas Rivera had done his part in helping the woman he loves - now it was her turn to repay his affection.

"Yes-yes" Maxie laughed softly as she took hold of outreaching hand. "I'll pay for lunch. I know a great Malaysian restaurant"

"You know that's not what I want to eat" Lukas Rivera's eyes darken as he looked at Maxie.

                Rolling her eyes, she tugged on his hand and pulled him along after her.

"Good luck Blaze"

                Of course, Maxie didn't forget to wish her dear little brother good luck since he'll need it for the rest of his life.
