"What's going on here?" A voice called out.

Maxie didn't bother to turn around to face the irritated voice. The tall good looking man in brown leather pants and white shirt frown when the woman in red told him what happened. Of course, the woman left out the fact that it all started because of her make-out session with Blaze Jager. Pushing all the blame to Maxie, the woman asked the Owner to call the police so they could press charge on the person who broke her boyfriend's nose. Everyone in the club knew that the couple was second-rate class models. For any models, their face and body was their livelihood. With a broken nose, the man's career could be affected.

After listening to the woman's explanation, the Owner of the club, Jack Wiles turned to see Maxie with her back facing him. Everyone believed that Maxie will face the Owner's wrath. The good looking man was the owner of the city's most prestigious club; moreover, he owns several other popular clubs and restaurants in the country. Many young famous and elite people have to give him respect if they want to enter his exclusive establishments. The woman in red and her boyfriend were both confident that Jack Wiles would take their side because of their status and the fact that they were good acquaintance with Ruby Jager. No one expect the frowning man to suddenly smile with delighted surprise.

"Maxie?" Jack Wiles said with a light smile.

Then to everyone's surprise, Jack Wiles went to Maxie and put an arm around her shoulders as if they were long-time friends. On the contrary, Maxie pinched the back of the Owner's hand, lifted it, and removed it from her shoulder.

"You finally visit my club" Jack Wiles chuckled as if he did not mind Maxie's coldness. "Come up upstairs. Leila and Kendra will be happy to know you're here"

Jack Wiles' statement let everyone knew the man and the woman with strawberry marked face were friends. What's more, everyone who heard the name Leila and Kendra immediately assumed Jack Wileswas referring to the famous Drake twins. Leila Drake is one of the world's top fashion designers while her twin Kendra is a one of the world's top contemporary artist. The twin's parents are well-known movie producer and director, while their older brother is a distinguished actor. Needless to say, the Drake family is extremely respected in the entertainment industry.

"No" Maxie disinterestedly declined the man's invitation while turning to look Blaze who appeared surprised like everyone else continued to watch in silence. "We're leaving"

"Maxie, wait" Jack Wiles could see the irritation in Maxie's clear eyes.

In that instance, Jack Wiles understood that Maxie was not happy because of the woman in red and her boyfriend with the broken nose.

"Someone" Jack Wiles swiftly called for security to come. "Escort them out. Make sure they're not allowed to any of my establishment from this day forward"

The woman and her boyfriend's eyes widen in shock and horror. To be denied by entrance to society's most prominent places was equivalent to be demoted from first class to low class. The thought was both humiliating and terrifying for them.

"B_ but we're Ruby's friend" The woman quickly tried to defend herself by using her biggest backer.

Everyone knew the heiress Ruby Jager. Naturally, Jack Wiles did as well. The woman in red and her boyfriend were confident that Jack Wiles would give them face if they used Ruby's name.

"Ruby?" Maxie sudden soft laughter brought chill to the couple's entire being. "I see... My dear little cousin is your friend"

Cousin. The couple paled at the word while the crowd was stunned. Not only the young and beautiful 21 year-old Ruby Jager was a supermodel, she was an heiress of the notorious Jager Clan. As soon as Maxie said "cousin", everyone knew she was Maxie Luther – the current CEO of Jager Corp. If anyone were to compare the two girls in terms of power, it was clear that Maxie Luther had the upper hand since the entire world know how influential the CEO position of Jager Corp holds.

Ignoring the alarmed expression on the couple's face, Maxie's eyes lifted to scan the far off section where the VIP sat. Sure enough, she spotted several familiar faces. Dustin Jager had a cold scowl on his face as he glared at her, while his older sister, Ruby Jager had a calm smile on hers. But it wasn't the brother-sister duo that bothered Maxie – it was the handsome young man with his dark eyes staring quietly at her that irritated her. Lukas Rivera was sitting in the same VIP section as the brother-sister duo – obviously watching the entire event since the altercation between Blaze and the woman's boyfriend. With an unreadable expression, Maxie's eyes went back to the couple.

"Shall I bow down and apologize since you're little Ruby's friends?" Maxie's voice was scary serene, while her expression was unusually gentle.

Suddenly, the couple collapse, unable to look up. How could they ask Jager Corp.'s CEO to bow before them? Maxie had asked the question in a gentle tone but it was like hearing the devil speak. The couple quickly apologized to Maxie like their life depended on it.

"Why are you apologizing to me?" The gentler Maxie was, the more the couple trembled. "After all, I was the one who broke your nose. Go, call the police. Have someone arrest me for assault"

No one dared to do so after knowing who Maxie was.

"No?" Maxie gave a mock sigh. "Then I'll call the police myself"

The man with the bloody broken nose tried to the diffuse the dire situation – telling Maxie how sorry he was for causing her trouble. Even if he felt wronged, he could not risk going against Jager Corp's CEO. He knew that Maxie could not only destroy his career as a model, but she could make his life difficult if she wanted to.

"I think you're misunderstanding something. I'm calling the police to arrest you for assault" Maxie then went to stunned Blaze's side and touched his swollen cheek. "Just looks at dear little brother's cheek. How could you give him such a nasty bruise?"

Dear little brother? Again, everyone was stunned, while the couple grew paler at Maxie's words.

"H_ He messed with my girlfriend" The young man tried to explain.

"Mess with your girlfriend?" Maxie mocked a startled gasp. "Who?"

Maxie scanned the crowd like she was searching for someone.

"I_ I'm his girlfriend. He_ he messed with me" The woman in red was shaking as she spoke.

"You?" Maxie looked at the sexy woman from head to toe. "Impossible, my brother wouldn't mess with such an ugly woman"

The so-call ugly woman was a model. Everyone nearly fell over hearing Maxie's comment. Meanwhile, the woman's face grew red from the clear insult. But she couldn't do anything but take it since she was too afraid to talk back to Maxie.

"Blaze" Maxie looked at the still shell-shocked young man. "Did you mess with this ugly woman?"

Blaze blinked several times as if he was still trying to process what was happening.

"See, my brother didn't mess with your ugly girlfriend. Blaze Jager has much better taste." Maxie turned back to the man with the broken nose. "Yet you beat him up? So tell me, why shouldn't I call the police to arrest you and your ugly girlfriend for slander and assault?"

Speechless. No one could say a word to refute Maxie's sharp tongue. The couple groveled and apologized with tears and snot on their faces. It was almost too painful to watch such an embarrassing scene.

"Fine" Maxie then waved the back of her hand at the crying couple and spoke as if she was a generous person. "I'll let this go since you're both little Ruby's friends"

Maxie had purposely brought her cousin's name out again, reminding everyone the crying, snot-face couple was Ruby Jager's people.
