The story continued on its original course. The protagonist lost his grandmother at 17 years old. With his grandmother's death, Blaze Jager learned how cruel the world really was. His supposed "friends" became distant while looks of ridicule were thrown at him. Alison Lee Jager had been Blaze Jager's strong backer. Although she never involved in Jager Corp's politics, Alison Lee had been a respectful figure in society. And because Blaze was Alison Lee's grandson, people deferred to him. But now that the woman is gone, their high regard for young man is gone. In the end, Blaze never did anything to gain their respect. His only value lies in the Jager Corp's shares which he could legally obtain when he turns 18. But the 15% shares were useless to him until he's 21 and is able to enter the corporation's playing field.
At Blaze Jager's most vulnerable state, the enemies went in for the kill. Already feeling lost and hurt by his peer's isolation, Blaze – like any young teenager begin to lash out with resentment. Drinking, going out to clubs, sex, drugs, and getting into fights, Blaze Jager unknowingly begins down a slippery slope of peril. The enemies use his weaken mind to push him to the edge – wanting him to lose himself to the world of no return. They needed him gone so his 15% can be free for them to take. The enemies would have been successful in ruining Blaze Jager, but they misjudged Maxie Luther's thoughts. Even though Maxie and Blaze grew up together, everyone knew the cousin pair was not close. Because of the age and personality difference, the two never hung out in the same group or school. On top of that, everyone saw Alison Lee Jager's favoritism toward her grandson and recognized the woman only supported her granddaughter to pave the future for Blaze Jager. Knowing that, anyone would think that Maxie Luther could care less about her younger cousin's downfall. If anything, wouldn't she want him to fall so that the young man could not threaten her position?
No one understood that Maxie did not care about Jager Corp or the CEO position.
In the city's most exclusive nightclub, a long line of people stood outside hoping to be able to enter the infamous club made for the heiress and heirs of the elites of society. At the entrance of the club, two big and tall men in black suit screening people behind the red ropes, allowing only a few entries at a time. Meanwhile two bigger and taller men stood guarding the large nine feet steel door, opening the door only for those allowed through the red ropes. The long ling of people stood waiting with hopes of entrance when a white Koenigsegg drove right up to the VIP section of the street. Two black BMW SUVs followed and parked behind the white sleek car. Everyone in line watched curiously while the driver stepped out of the white car. First they saw the white oxford shoes before the 5'-11" tall woman stepped out in white oxford shirt tucked in the slim pink Bermuda short. With a lollipop in her mouth, she ran a hand through her medium length wavy hair revealing the pink strawberry mark on her face. But despite the birthmark, people were in trance by the tall woman whose sparkling colored eyes held complete confidence.
"Two of you follow me" Maxie said after she took the lollipop out of her mouth. "The rest can stay behind"
The group of six men – all wearing tie-less gray suits stood outside the BMW SUVs. After Maxie gave her orders, two of the six men followed behind her while she headed toward the entrance of the club. Maxie didn't bother to give the two front guards a glance while she walked right up to the big men guarding the steel door. Even VIPs had to give out their names before entrance but Maxie didn't say a single word while she looked at the two guards. When they made no move to open the door for Maxie, one of her eyebrow rose slightly. With the lollipop in her mouth, she gave a smile so cold the bigger, taller men before her shivered. Before anyone could understand what was happening, the doors were opened and Maxie walked through with her two bodyguards following right after.
Outside the club had been loud because of the people in line talking and laughing over the noise of the street. But inside the club was 10 times louder with the blaring music and lights. Maxie's calm expression was undisturbed while she scanned the floor filled with young, beautiful people. It didn't take her long to find the person she came for. In the center of the dance floor, a group surrounded two young men clearly in altercation. Even through the loud music and flashing lights, Maxie could tell the two young men were yelling at each other. Still sucking on the lollipop in her mouth, Maxie watched with amusement when the yelling became all out fighting.
Blaze Jager was drunk with hard liquor and anger. Just an hour ago, he was humiliated outside the club when the guards refused to give him entry. It had been the first time he had been denied entrance anywhere. His family name – his status was put into question. Shamed, Blaze was about to fight the guards until his cousins and their friends appeared. While Dustin Jager laughed at him, Ruby Jager gave him a soft, gentle smile – helping him get inside the club. Once inside, Blaze began to drink away his resentment. Soon enough, a sexy woman in red came up to him with a seductive smile. The drunken Blaze flirted back. While the two made out on the dance floor, a man came out of nowhere and claimed to be the woman's boyfriend. Arguments naturally ensued before full-on fist brawl begin. And because Blaze was drunk, it was unsurprising that his opponent was able to easily overpower him.
Knocked over, Blaze did not see his opponent's malice sneer or the heavy boot that was ready to step on his head. Just before the boot touched Blaze's head, a lollipop was suddenly thrown at the young man's face. Startled at the hard object thrown at his face, the man looked up only to see the tip of white oxford shoe. Smacked hard across the face, the young man felt his nose broken before he felt flat on his behind. The woman who had been making out with Blaze moments ago screamed and went to her boyfriend – causing the entire club to suddenly go silent.
Lights turned on and the music came to a sudden stop. Everyone turned to see the nonchalant Maxie standing over the young man with the bloody broken nose and his panic girlfriend at his side.
"Pick him up" Maxie's voice was steady, revealing no emotion.
The two bodyguards' cold, empty expression did not change while one of them went to help Blaze Jager to his feet. A moment after Blaze' hazy eyes cleared, he saw Maxie and scowled. Then he tried to get out of the bodyguard's hold but winced in pain when the bigger man's gripped his arm tighter. Just before Blaze could express his rage, Maxie's quiet words stopped him.
"If you don't want to be gagged and carried out like a child, you best keep your mouth shut" Maxie spoke so only Blaze could hear. "Do you understand?"
Normally, Blaze Jager would have angrily refuted the person who dared to treat him like a child, but Maxie's unemotional eyes told him he will face more humiliation if he dared to speak out. Glancing around the dance floor, Blaze realized the music had stopped and everyone was watching.
"You broke my nose" The man stood with his girlfriend's help while covering his bloody nose.
"Be thankful I only broke your nose" Maxie smile playfully.
