"The assignment for the next month so I expect good quality work. Let me explain one more time..." Ellie already spaced out, resting her chin on the palm of her hand, her eyes already tempted to close any second.
She could hear the students murmuring in a soft spoken voice, she could here her seat mate beside her speaking to someone else beside him, she could hear his throat grumbling as he spoke.
Ellie brushed a strand of her hair away from her and sighed. It reminded her of someone she knew but she couldn't really pinpoint it.
It's like she completely forgotten that person's existence.
She felt it lingering at the back of her mind.
But she couldn't really remember it.
Was she forgetting someone?
Shaking her head, she looked at her watch and realised it was far past the time that she got dismissed. Feeling a bump on her shoulder, she looked to the side.
"Ellie, aren't you coming?"
Ah, it was him.
Her seat mate was Jess's boyfriend, Axel Reiss, a kind boy who took some classes the same as Ellie since he was going to be a businessman working in his father's company.
It's safe to say that he was filthy rich, one of the previous reasons why Jess liked him, but she had grown accustomed to his sweetย smile, gentle attitude and his smarts.
Just like someone she vaguely remembers.
She smiled and packed her notebooks and her laptop in her laptop bag, swinging it over her shoulder, almost forgetting she had an expensive laptop in her bag.
"Yeah, let's go."
They went out of the auditorium after their lesson, reaching the campus's cafeteria. The cafeteria wasn't usually packed with people, some students prefer to eat out at places such as, Subway, McDonalds or Burger King.
Ellie and her friends couldn't really care less. They often ate the cafeteria's food, absorbing the food almost immediately, savoring it between bites.
The cafeteria was rather big, she noted that it looked like a large coffee shop, with each table rounded and spared everyone privacy.
There were booths for couples which didn't wanted to be disturbed, and she'll often she Axel and Jess be there with a hot cuppa, reveling in each other's presence.
She found it cute, that the once bitchy Jess was now one of her good friends. She still remembers when they were roommates they were still iffy towards each other, but they soon warmed up due to their similar interests.
It was honestly unexpected.
Clearing her mind from her past thoughts, she nudged Axel and pointed to the direction of where Jess was waiting, and Ellie thought she really was pretty.
Her shoulder length brown hair was draped on her exposed shoulders, her cream coloured sweater tucked in her skinny jeans, and guys were obviously looking at her.
Too bad she was taken.
"Your girl is getting hit on." Ellie remarked, giving a low whistle. She patted Axel's back, making him straighten his back stiffly.
He scratched the nape of his neck, chuckling sheepishly. "I wonder how she ended up with me. I remember she told me the other boys she ended up with were really buff and tall and really," He shivered. "Scary."
Ellie laughed. "She's tired of that."
"Hmm?" Axel hummed. "Why?"
"You'll see."
A loud yell was heard from the table which Jess was sitting and Axel originally thought it was a female's piercing scream, quickly about to rush over there, but Ellie stopped him in a nick of time.
Ellie took a jab with her head, and Axel took notice and looked over. The students around them were alarmed, but they knew it was something that happened usually and ignored it, although some were looking at them, eager.
Axel and Ellie quickly jogged over, the male very worried but the female beside was not worried at all, her face was expressionless, but hid a different meaning behind it.
In 3...2...1
"I AIN'T GETTING MY FUCKING BUTT TOUCH BY YOUR DIRTY ASS HANDS." Jess yelled as she turned one of the student's wrists painfully, the said student yelping in pain. "I AM TAKEN, SO LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE."
She let go and pushed him away, huffing and fixing her hair. Jess saw the two males who almost touched her butt and gave a menacing glare.
The two students were looking exactly like what Jess dated in the past.ย
"Next time you touch my butt," She stomped the floor with her brown coloured boot heels with authority like a queen to it's villagers that did a great crime. "SANITIZE YOUR DIRTY ASS HANDS."
The big roar she gave out scared almost everyone in the cafeteria including her own boyfriend of 3 months and Ellie slightly, but the female was already used to her outbursts.
Jess relaxed her posture and sighed, shaking her head, her dangling earrings shaking as she shook her head, making slight sounds.
She turned her head absentmindedly, as if she completely forgotten her loud outburst just now.
"Ellie, Axel!" She cheerfully called out to them, the students turning to the both of them, and they were clearly not liking the presence they carried since the she-hulk was related to them.
Axel was baffled but somehow not at the same time. He knew she was a clean freak, every time she came over she would clean the rubbish laying in his room like a housewife. He was surprised that she gave a big outburst unlike the sweet and vulnerable side she showed him all the time when they were alone.
He was falling in love again.
Ellie wasn't surprised. She knew that in high school she was often a person that liked to keep things clean, although she didn't show it much. In university though, when they were spot checked by one of the people in charge of them, they found their dorm room so clean, it was even spotless.
And Ellie knew that her temper was something she didn't want to bring out, but she knew Jess was trying to improve it which was obvious since she suffered with her short temper.
Jess skipped over to them, holding her bag and the muffin she failed to finish because of the harassment she encountered when the two young adults entered the cafeteria.
"I'm feeling a bit under the weather in the cafeteria," Jess said, holding onto her boyfriend's hand as he stared at her wide-eyed. She acted as if nothing happened and that what happened just now felt like she did it years ago and that she didn't care about it.
Axel was slightly terrified.
But he knew it was thrilling,
And he enjoyed it.
Ellie sighed and looked at the couple, her mind already wandering as she followed them to a cafe that was run by an old man, that she vaguely remembers.
Bakery Street, she knew, since she lived there half of her life with Andrew.ย
Andrew went to another school, honing his football skills and got a scholarship and left the place. It was all tears and salty waterfalls again. But, she didn't mind it. It reminded her of something she forgotten, but she was okay with it.
She lost contact with Rebecca. Rebecca went overseas to France for her linguistics studies and her love of fashion and design. They chatted on text, but since the two were so busy they never really found the time. But she knew their bond was strong enough. Ellie could go to France to visit her.
Johan was still together with Madison. He followed her also to another university far away from where she was, which was 3 hours away. She followed him on instagram and witnessed his ginger hair out in the open, free from the green dye and he even took on a man-bun. Ellie found it hilarious.
Ellie still misses them, but she seemed to be forgetting someone she really liked, someone she used to adore, but she forgotten. She forgotten because she was scared that she was going to be left behind so she got rid of it.
But a part of her wanted to remember.
Sighing, she followed the couple in the cafe and read the sign carefully. Ciel's Cafe. In a flash, Jess found seats which were at the back of the cafe, a wooden rectangular table with four chairs and a decorative flower placed in the middle.
It reminded her of something but she still could not remember. She forced herself to forget these memories and now she's struggling to remember.
"Fuck..."
"What's wrong?" Questioned Axel.
--------
"Damn," She said to *****.
"These foods look at tasty as you!"
--------
"Who am I forgetting?" She questioned herself. But clearly, Jess and Axel saw discomfort from her and tried not asking her, as it would stress her out more.
Ellie really wanted to know,
And she's going to try.
