Nameless
I can walk past you on an ordinary day,
Ignoring you with the least hint of recognition.
I can walk until there is impasse,
Through this unknown road that might climb into the ocean.
The sea gulls are pressing,
Their riotous charge, plowing the azure sky
Like a sharp edge at sundown,
The hue leaks from the corner of my eye.
I can still smell you, your whiff as your hair dance
I can see you from where the vision parts –
As it breaks and tears away determined
But forgets the soul in careless halves.
A friend I found in you, and more
That last thought still teasing my sense,
You ask questions that can open gates
I carefully lock them in your absence.
A friend or more; let us not insist on that,
For this bond that loves and equally hurts –
Rather be nameless, than hopeless and loveless,
Friend, for the end of time, lets undo all starts.
