"I suggest you leave before things get ugly."

The teenage boy scurried away from the blond girl, who glared daggers at her brother.

"Damon, what the hell?!" 

"Mae, need I remind you that you're fifteen?" Damon crossed his arms.

"And?! Mom and dad were making out at my age!"

"First of all, that's an image I didn't want. Second, no they weren't. Mom and dad were seventeen when they met, and even then they weren't making out."

"How should I know? They're always gone," Damon sighed as he sat beside his youngest sibling.

"This is only temporary, Mae. Once things are settled, mom and dad will be here. I promise."

"How did they meet?" She looked up at him.

"Mom and dad met when she joined SHIELD," Mae gasped.

"No way! Mom and dad were in SHIELD?!"

"They still are. Mom was a bit cold at first, but dad helped her trust the team and eventually learned that it's okay to put your faith in others."

"They weren't scared of her?" Like their mother, they had bits of their grandfather within them.

"No, because there was nothing to judge. Mom was a great teammate and they showed her that there was never anything to fear."

"How did dad fall for mom?" Damon chuckled.

"How do you know it wasn't mom first?"

"Because it's dad, duh."

"Dad saw the best in her, and he always says that it was her bright smile and inner strength that brought out his love for her."

"When did Uncle Sam meet Aunt Kory?" 

"She crashed into him."

"Really?!"

"Yup, trying to escape aliens who wanted to imprison her, but Uncle Sam helped her."

"I heard Aunt Kory was taller than him, but shrunk her height because he was too short," She giggled.

"Well, she is tall."

"So, you promise mom and dad will come home soon?" Mae asked, peering up at Damon with her violet eyes - their moms eyes.

"Promise."
