No one left Amanda's side as the two days went by. They were too scared that something may happen and they would not be there. Bofur had taken up looking after Dalila while they were busy with Amanda.

" When will those elves get here!" Kili yelled as he paced his room. Chris was sitting on the bed dabbing Amanda's forehead with a cold wet cloth.

" They should not be too long now." Fili tried to reassure his younger brother as his wife lay on their bed. Just then to door opened and in waked several elves. One of them they recognise immediately as they rushed over to the bed. Chris moved out of their way as they began helping Amanda.

" Will she be alright?" Kili asked the red haired elf.

" Let us hope so. We will do all we can, but we cannot make any promises." She told him, her eyes then trailed over Fili and onto Chris. Her eyes stopped taking in his appearance. She felt her heart rate pick up slightly as she did.

" Tauriel, this is Chris. Amanda's younger brother." Fili introduced them both as Chris bowed slightly taken aback at her beauty.

" My lady." He whispered with a gentle smile. But all smiles disappeared when Amanda whimpered in pain.

" How far along is she?" One of the elves helping asked Kili.

" About eight months and half months give or take." He replied to them as they nodded and went back to work. They began to mutter in elvish and Tauriel's grew a sad and hurt facial expression.

" I think you all sure wait outside." She told them ushering them out quickly. Kili and his family all stood outside the room as they waited with worry. Hours past and soon the door opened. A elf walked out with an upset look on his face.

" We have looked at your wife. We are going to have to wake her up and induce her labor." The elf said.

" Why?" Kili asked stepping forward.

" You have no other choice but to deliver to child. We have to seperate the child from her." He said softly to him. Kili stood still and no one dared to speak.

" And what if you don't get the baby out?" Fili asked stepping up the him.

" Then we loss them both..." The spoke sadly to them.

" What's Amanda's best chance?" Chris asked worried for his sister. He only just found her again, and now he was going to loss her. But this time for good.

" She has a higher chance of surviving, if we deliver the child. But even then the chances are slim to none." The elf said. The hall was silent as the news sunk in. Kili sighed and turned his back to everyone.

" Do it. If there is any chance both of them can make it. I will take that chance and hold it tightly." Kili said as the elf nodded.

" When we wake her. I suggest you all get the chance to say your goodbyes." He said as he walked back into the room. Everyone stood in silence as the elves woke Amanda from her slumber.

" Amanda is awake. You can all come in. One at a time." Tauriel said as she opened the door. Fili looked to Kili.

" I will go in first, Chris you go next and then Kilian. You can go in with Dalila. Kili you go last so you have the most time." Filib said to his brother. Kili nodded and watched as Fili walked in through the door. The elves bowed and stepped out of the room leaving them both there. Fili walked over to the bed and saw Amanda with her eyes barely open and a weak smile on her lips.

"Hello." Amanda spoke in an extremely raspy voice.

" Hey, how are you feeling?" Fili asked sitting down on the bed next to her.

" I have just been told I most likely will not live to see my new baby." Amanda spoke with fear in her voice. Fili took her cold hand into his and held it tightly.

" Fili, I want to ask you. Please promise me, that if I do not make this. Look after my family. Make sure my children live a happy life. Make sure Kili does not do anything stupid." Amanda begged him as a single tear fell from her eye. Fili gently wipe it away.

" I will make that promise. But you are strong and you will pull through this. This baby will need its mother."Fili smiled to her as he rubbing his thumb over her swollen belly. Fili kissed her forehead and stood up.

" I will see you soon. Bye." He whispered to her and walked out the room. Next in was Chris, he rushed in and over to his sister. Tears brimmed in her eyes.

" You have to get through this... I just found you and now I am going to loose you again." He cried softly to her. Amanda lifted her hands to his cheeks and tried to calm him down.

" sh, sh. I know, I know. I am so sorry." Amanda muttered to him gently.

" I want to ask you something. I know I may never see my baby grow up. I want you to make sure he or she knows everything. Everything about our life back on earth. Make sure that my other children have you to lean on, because I know that Kili will take my passing hard. I need you to promise me that." Amanda said to him as he nodded unable to speak. Amanda smiled and kissed his forehead.

"I love you. Remember that." Amanda muttered to him as stood up and walked over to the door.

" I love you too." Chris said softly as tears fell from his eyes. He never really said that he loved her. Maybe once or twice before but it was always because she forced him to say it. He never said it of his own free will. And now she was on her death bed.

" Dalila, come on. Time to see mummy." Kilian said as she took his hand and they walked in after Chris walked out. Fili walked over and embraced the crying man. Kilian walked in with Dalila holding his hand.

" Hey mum." She spoke softly. Amanda smiled weakly to her daughter and son as they walked over.

" Hey baby. How are you?" Amanda asked as Dalila climbed onto her bed and hugged her.

" Mummies sick." She whimpered to her as Amanda sighed tears welling in her eyes.

" I know sweetie." Amanda muttered quietly as she kissed her head.

" I need you to make me a promise." Amanda spoke to her as Dalila nodded softly against her chest.

" Mummy might have to go away for a long time. I want you to promise me you will be on you best behaviour. And too take care of your new sibling for me." She whispered to her daughter who was now crying.

" I don't want you too leave mummy! Please don't go!" She cried into Amanda's chest. A few tears fell from Amanda's eyes as she looked to Kilian who was crying himself. She stretched out her arm and he moved to embrace her.

" I love you both so much." Amanda whispered as she held her children close. Most likely for the last time.

" Kilian look after you siblings. You are going to have to step up, my son. I am so proud of you and the Dwarf you are now." Amanda whispered in his ear and kissed his cheek.

" I promise mother. I love you, so much." Kilian cried to her as she hugged him closely. Amanda took in a deep breath and looked to her children.

" Come on, let's give mum some time with daddy." Kilian said pulling Dalila away from his weak mother. But Dalila tried to fight him to stay with her mother.

" Please baby, listen to your brother." Amanda smiled to her as Kilian lifted Dalila and walked to the door as she screamed in protest. Amanda looked away as she could not bare to see her like that. She was causing her little girl's pain. Kilian walked out the room and walked away from the room.

" I have to get her away from here." Kilian said to his father who nodded and looked at his screaming daughter and upset son. Kili turned and looked at the door. He stood at it and looked at the wood.

" I can't. I can't loose her." Kili said unable to move. Fili place a hand on his shoulder.

" Brother, she needs you right now. You have too." Fili said to him as Kili took in a deep breath and opened the door. He turned and closed it looking back at the door with his back to Amanda.

" Kili?" A weak raspy voice called from behind him. He gripped the door handle and closed his eyes. His heart felt like it was being ripped from his chest.

" Look at me." Amanda asked weakly. Kili could not turn for he feared the worst. He feared that she was not her.

" Kili please..." She cried this time. Kili felt his tear fall as he felt the pain in his voice.

" This is my fault." He whimpered to her. Kili cried in soft sobs.

" Kili." She whispered through her sniffs. He slowly turned around keeping his eyes to the floor, and then. He looked to his wife.
