Chapter 15: Riders Of Rohan

Amanda and Bofur had been riding for the whole night and soon the faded into a complete day. Amanda placed a hand onto he back as a dull pain shot through her spine.

" Maybe we should stop and camp here?" Bofur called as he slowed down to a soft trot.

" I am fine, we should wait until the next village." Amanda said through her pain. Bofur shook his head softly and stopped his horse at a tree. He slipped off his horse and secured it before heading over to Amanda's horse. He helped a reluctant Amanda from her horse and then secured the horse next to his.

" We can rest for the night. Even if Kili has sent men after us, they wont catch up." Bofur said knowing why she did not want to stop. Amanda sighed and streched herself. Placing her hands onto her small bump with a soft smile. Bofur walked over and started a small fire ushering Amanda next to it. He placed a balnket over her and looked to her.

" You are stubborn you know. " Bofur said sitting down next to her.

"I would not be me if I wasn't." Amanda chuckled to him. Bofur followed in with her laughing.

" You are right there." Bofur smiled. Amanda leaned over and onto his shoulder. Bofur wrapped an arm around her and held her close to keep her warm in the fading light.

" Thank you, Bofur. You did not need to do this. You could have gotten Kili to drag me back but. You never." Amanda muttered snuggling closer to Bofur.

" Yeah well, I made a promise." Bofur said to her, Amanda looked up to him. As if to ask him to continued and tell her more.

" Well, when FIona and Thorin left to go to their new home. Fiona made me promise to her that I would be there for you. That if you ever need help, I would always be there for you. Because she was not there to look after you." Bofur smiled to her. Amanda just snuggled closer to him and chuckled.

" Thank you." She whispered before she feel into a calm and peaceful sleep.

" We should stop here for the night. Make camp!" Fili called as they pulled to a stop on the outskirts of Mirkwood. They all pulled to a stop and began to set up their camp. Kili walked over and looked out towards the south. Amanda was out there somewhere and he was worried. Orcs have been running the lands more frequently now.

" Do not worry. We will find her and Bofur." Fili said as he joined his brother looking out.

" She is just so stupid at time. I begin to doubt that she is still in the right state of mind." Kili said.

" Now brother. You of all people should know, she has never been sane." Fili chuckled earning one back from his brother.

" Yeah you are right." Kili replied softly.

" If anything happens to her and our child. I will never forgive myself." Kili said looking to his brother with eyes full of worry. Fili just pulled him into a tight embrace.

" Amanda is strong, she won't let anything happen to her or the baby. Besides, she has Bofur with her." Fili reassured him as they headed back to the small camp.

Morning came about quickly as Amanda rose softly. She looked around and saw Bofur next to their horses getting them ready. She smiled and stood up rubbing her bump.

" Ah your awake." Bofur smiled to her taking the blanket and strapping it to the horse.

" I thought you would want to leave as soon as you awoke. So everything is ready." Bofur said. he then walked back with a bowl of food.

" Here, breakfast." Bofur said, Amanda took it and started eating. But her stomach churned and she pushed the bowl to Bofur. She ran off to a tree and leaned against it while throwing up the food she had just eat.

" You alright Amanda?" Bofur asked with worry. Amanda nodded and stood straight gain rubbing her belly.

" Just don't think the little one wanted food." Amanda smirked as she walked over to her horse. Bofur nodded and helped her on to him. He too then jumped onto his horse.

" Well if you feel sick, tell me and we can stop for a rest." Bofur said as they started off in a walk before jumping into a fast canter. They rode for hours and hours until they arrived in a small town. This would have been a nice little town on the outskirts of Rohan, but it was almost like a ghost town. Not one soul was here. Well, not one living soul. Bodies of men, women and children littered the town

" Oh my, What happened?" Amanda asked looking around. Tears brimmed in her eyes as she sighed.

" Orcs. They have been running the lands and killing everything." Bofur spoke as he looked around. But something caught Amanda's hearing, she pulled her horse to a stop and looked around.

" Amanda?" Bofur started only to have Amanda put a hand up to quieten him.

" Do you hear that?" Amanda said as she slipped off her saddle and unsheathed one of her sword.

" Amanda!" Bofur cried as he too threw himself from his horse and quickly followed her. Amanda followed to sounds to a small house. Amanda tried to open the door, but it would not open. Amanda looked to bofur and with one kick the door opened. The sound was louder now, it sounded like crying.

" Over here." Amanda called as she rushed over to a crib, a small baby no more than two weeks old. Amanda picked it up and held the baby girl in her arms.

" The Mother and Father are dead." Bofur said as he walked through and saw the little form in Amanda's arms.

" She is bigger than my children when they were this young." Amanda muttered, the small baby was indeed larger then dwarf babies.

" Well, she is human you know." Bofur said and Amanda nodded. They walked out the house and over to the horses. Amanda soothed the little girls crying as she fell asleep in her arms.

" You really do have a way with young one." Bofur smiled to Amanda as she pulled a blanket from the horse.

" Here, Let me take her. You are already carrying a child." Bofur said with a gentle smile.

" Are you sure?" Amanda asked him. Bofur nodded as they created a sling that would hold the baby to Bofur's chest. Just as he mounted his horse and fixed the baby, they heared a scream. It was one they knew all to well.

" Orcs." Bofur growled as a small group of Orcs and Wargs rushed towards the village. Amanda rushed over to her horse and launched herself up onto him.

" Quickly!" Amanda said as they pushed their horses into a gallop. They knew they had no chance to out run them but they had to try. Amanda pulled off her bow and fired off several arrows. None of them hitting their intented targets.

" We must make it to the next village!" Amanda yelled to him as she released another arrow. This one actually hit an orc.

" We're never gonna make it!" Bofur cried as they galloped as fast as they could. Just then a horn sounded through the air. Amanda looked to the direction in which it came and a small smile erupted onto her mouth. She placed a hand onto her belly happily, knowing they were going to be safe.

" Riders of Rohan." Amanda smiled as she watched a small army attacked the Orcs.
