Lea's POV

"So how did it happen?!"

"Did he say it first or you?!"

"Is he good looking?" The onslaught of questions stopped after that sentence. I looked over at Toph to see her with a smirk

"Because from what I have heard of him and he is pretty ugly-" Katara slapped her hand over Toph's mouth, muffling the rest of her sentence. I coughed awkwardly, cheeks blazing hot

"That isn't nice Toph!" Katara scolded the girl who rolled her eyes pulling Katara's hand off of her mouth

"What? It's the truth-"

"Toph that isn't a very nice to say about Shinya, after all he is Lea's boyfriend." I shrunk back in my seat all eyes falling on me, well one of them being Toph's feet

"Again, how did it happen Lea?" Katara asked me again and I sighed running a hand through my hair

"Umm well... He said it first and Uhh-" My whole face went beet red when my mind wondered off to the kiss we shared. Suki gushed in realization of what I was about to say

"He did kiss you!" She yelled excitedly and I cringed at her loudness

"That's so adorable just oh my you two just- AH MY HEART!" Suki fell back dramatically into her seat, clutching onto her shirt over where her heart is. Katara laughed at her covering her mouth with her hand at the sight

"It's not a big deal! It was bound to happen sooner or later..." I muttered the last part under my breath only Toph heard me clearly

"Good that it was sooner rather than later, I can't deal with the eye googling any longer." Toph stated crossing her arms and huffing, blowing her bangs out of her face

"Eye googling?" I questioned

"Yeah, you never noticed when either you or Shinya weren't looking at each you would sneak flames at him?" Katara asked me and I shook my head in response. Suki took a deep breath, calming her fan girling endeavors for the moment

"Yeah! It was super cute when we saw Shinya doing that one day and when you caught him staring he just played it off by looking away and the cycle continued with you guys switching positions once in a while. So adorable!" Suki squealed again ready to jump out of her chair and squeeze me to death if it wasn't for Katara to stop her from doing so. I cringed eternally, my face become hotter than fire

"Alright you three that's enough, let my niece have some air." I looked up to see Uncle walking towards us with a heartwarming smile, his arms folded across his chest

"Oh Iroh! I didn't see you coming." Katara told him and Toph rolled her eyes, leaning her head on her palm

"He's been watching us since we dragged Lea here."

"And you didn't tell us?" Suki asked her and Toph shrugged

"Didn't feel like it." I laughed lightly at her response

"Did Shinya get fed to a dragon yet by Zuko?" I asked Uncle and he chuckled at my question, shaking his head

"Sadly no, it would have been a sight to see though."

"Uncle!"

"I'm joking, I'm joking." He chuckled and I sighed, shaking my head at him

"We better get back the party is almost over so come along now." I nodded and stood up along with the three girls who were still quietly fangirling behind me even Toph surprisingly. We followed Uncle out and through the hallways until we came back to where the party was being held to see Shinya finally away from Zuko, Aang, and Sokka

"Go get lover boy, Ashes." Toph lightly pushed me in his general direction before walking away. I sent her a look before walking towards him to see him peering around like a hawk making me laugh, catching his attention

"What are you looking for?" I asked him, placing my hands on my hips

"Zuko, when the girls dragged you away I have been getting death threats from him, all of them many different variations including feeding me to a dragon which confuses me because that's not physically possible because they are extinct soo...." He trailed off, clicking his tongue and I smiled

"Yep. They are extinct and he should know that because our uncle was the one who killed the last one." Shinya froze up like a statue, his eyes wide as saucers

"Wait- As in the tea loving man ex-general brother of your biological father your uncle?!" He asked me and I nodded

"But-But, how?! He doesn't seem like on to actually go and decide to kill a dragon!"

"Well yes, things were different back then. Uncle was a different man with a difficult past like mostly everyone in this dysfunctional family of ours." His jaw dropped and be became gaping like a fish, his eyes on Uncle who was laughing and drinking steaming hot tea

"You have gotta be kidding me...."

"Nope!" I told him with a grin and he slowly looked at me uneasily

"I regret holding your hand now when we walked into the party."

"They would have found out either way Shinya, sooner or later and hey don't worry I will protect you from their wrath." I promised him patting his arm and he cringed

"Why doesn't that make me feel any better?"

"Because she can beat your butt around the world if she wanted to." Tea butted in, wheeling past us causing me to laugh

"Teo! That isn't funny!"

"Never said it was!" Teo shouted back over his shoulder and Shinya shook his head with a deep sigh

"Come on now Shinya, that was kind of funny."

"Kind of funny? You find my butt being kicked by you around the world funny?"

"Yes."
