Anatidaephobia is a feeling that somewhere in the world, a duck or a goose is watching him/her (not attacking or touching, simply watching the individual).

Simon Cook slammed the door to his farm house. The sounds of the geese honking in the field had him scurrying back inside. He quickly ran around the house closing all the blinds and curtains on the windows. He just couldn't do it. This would make the fourth day he has kept himself in the house. Slowly he was getting worse. Before he didn't care that the blinds were open.

What scared him this time was when he was slamming the door. He saw it. The duck was sitting on his lawn. It had turned it's head and looked at him. The geese he could handle them farther away. But not now. Now they were on his lawn.

The sound of the geese became deafening and Simon quickly ran to his stereo, he pressed play not caring what song came on. He cranked up the volume just as the song "Don't You (forget about me)" by Simple Minds started. Simon covered his ears. The whole time muttering. "They can't get me." Loud banging on the door sent Simon over the edge and he screamed.

Soon footsteps came rushing in. "Simon!" Some yelled. Simon didn't hear them. He continued to scream, his ears covered. The person quickly found Simon slumped against the wall. "Simon buddy I am going to turn the volume down ok." The person said calmly. Simon didn't say anything. Just continued to scream. The person sighed and walked over to the stereo. Turning it down the person turned back to his friend. "Simon. It's me Cody." The person said as he walked cautiously back towards his panicked friend. "I am sorry man." Cody said as he slapped Simon across the face.

Simon blinked several times. He dropped his hands and glared at his buddy. "What the h€ll?" Simon asked as he lifted his hand to his cheek.

"Dude you were screaming bloody blue murder. The music was blaring. What happened?" Cody asked. Cody knew his friend had a fear of geese and ducks. But he had never seen his buddy like this.

"The duck. It was staring at me." Simon said as he began to calm down slightly.

Cody couldn't help it. He didn't mean too laugh but he did. Simon glared at his friend. "This isn't funny man. I swear it was out to...." Cody raised his hand and cut Simon off. "I know it's not funny. But honestly what you just said for what song was just playing." He laughed lightly again.

Simon furrowed his brows. What song was playing? "What song was it?"

Cody was shocked that Simon didn't notice the song but then again his friend was terrified. "The song was Don't You (Forget about me)" Cody replied. As Simon sat quietly on the floor he began to see what was funny. And he too began to laugh.
