My Petrichor
My Petrichor
Stinging rain and chill August winds were gushing
When I first stepped on the train
I felt like a prisoner of the wind, my journey to begin
A blanket of darkness covered me
The hard edge of winter touched the windows
Not caring the damage it'd inflict
An innocent soul bruised
Lashes on the heart
Staring out the coach, the heaven's touched by fading winter light
Raindrops running down, non stop
Daytime, but the sky painfully dark
Haunted by a deepening gloom
Winter, Fall, Spring, Summer
Clickity-clack, the long journey all the same
With rain, hail and snow came the cold... sorrow, pain, neglect
Grey skies have to clear up, don't they?
Doors slid open at the station, and night turned into day
You stepped on the train, a hot September eve
Basking in your glow
Thanking God, the start of a joyful journ
I could smell the clear spring air now
My heart, exploding stars and colliding galaxies
The perfection of a spring night
My memories now a mist, I only saw showers of happiness and light
The wind changed direction, the long bitter winter now forgot
A new route... peace, joy, faith and the biggest, love
Only one wish remains, when we step of the train
Our lives joined together to the sky
