20| A Soothing Melody
Yin's POV 🌺
"Night. There's something I want to tell you but I couldn't say in front of the others." I began as I sighed heavily a little and looked at him straight in those pretty and mysterious eyes of his.
"What is it?"
"When I was taking a nap earlier with Luna, back at Crimson Mirelands, while you were keeping me close to you...I actually had a dream about you.
It was so nice and pleasant. And it made me feel safe and at ease too..."
As I was saying this, I had no idea that tears were appearing in my eyes and running down to the side of my face, along with my voice cracking a bit.
"Ever since I was little, I've always had bad dreams. Sometimes, those dreams would send and trap me in a place where I couldn't wake up from, until I'm given a Lunar Feather from Cresselia...
But, to have a nice dream for once in my life...And about you too..."
That's when I buried my face into his chest and went into tears after Nightmare immediately walked over and pulled me into a tight hug.
"I understand..." He says next after I stopped crying.
"For you to have a dream about me making you feel so safe and happy, means something...
Something very important and special. But, is also the same thing we're both sharing right now...
I could only nod, knowing what this is.
"Yeah...It's love." I answered as I looked at him.
Then we smiled at each other a little bit before kissing.
Once we parted, I rested my head on Nightmare's shoulder.
"I want this to continue on for a bit more longer, but, we should be going back...I don't think I'd want you getting hurt." I mentioned.
After I said that, we hugged each other tightly one more time before parting and going back to Shokou, Okami, and Phobos.
"Everything's okay and I'm ready now..." I say as I looked at Shokou.
"Alright...Follow me, Yin. Nightmare, stay with my dad." She says next while leading me to the center of the room.
I could tell that Nightmare wanted to protest, but he sucked it up anyways, knowing it won't get him anywhere and would be pointless, if he argued.
Once I was at the center of the room, Shokou told me to stay there.
Looking around for a moment, I noticed a recent painting on the floor, showing the symbol of Arceus when I looked down.
Seeing this, I noticed I was standing in the center of the painting too, not just the room.
"It's almost time...Sit down on your knees and drink this, Yin." Shokou instructed as she gave me a cup, after taking out a sheet with unusual markings painted on it and a unrecognizable necklace, before draping it around my shoulders and putting the necklace on me.
Without saying or asking anything, I just took the cup into my hands and started to drink the contents in it, once she was done.
If I had to be honest, the drink in the cup tasted strange, mysterious, and pleasant...But, at the same time, it tasted like iron.
As for the cup itself, it almost looked like a holy grail, but made and designed differently to where it's perfectly matched up to Hisui's theme and culture.
When I was done drinking the contents in the cup, I returned it to Shokou, knowing she'll need or want it back.
Taking the cup, she putted it away in her bag, before bringing out a Springy mushroom, a Hearty grain, and a Plump bean.
First, she set the mushroom down. Then the Hearty grain and lastly the Plump bean.
Looking at where she setted them down, I noticed I was also in the center of a delta, seeing that's what those three foods made, at the points where Shokou had them set at.
After she was finished and was done double checking for any errors, she took out her celestial flute next.
"What's with the flute for?" I asked, feeling a bit confused for a moment.
"When you start to and are fully transformed, I have to play a melody that one of the family members of the Kitsune line have taught me, since I met and became friends with them.
They mentioned I was quite similar to them, since I'm a hybrid by blood too, even though I'm not related to the Kitsune line."
After Shokou was finished explaining, I made a 'Oh' reaction and nodded in understanding.
For a little bit, I remained sitting on my knees, until I suddenly started getting the transformation feeling.
As it started happening, I groaned in pain and felt my bones adjusting and changing again, just like how it was last time.
Same process too.
Starting with my ears, teeth, hair and then the rest of my body.
"This hurts so much!" I thought to myself as I had my eyes tightly shut from the pain.
This continued on for a bit more longer, until the pain suddenly went away and my mind went blank...
Phobos' POV 🥀
After Yin was in the transforming process earlier, a barrier suddenly appeared underneath her, entrapping her in a circle of light.
It looked so solid and hard to break too.
Once the barrier was up, and she was fully transformed, Yin letted out an enraged, bloodcurdling scream that sent shivers down mine and Okami's spine.
At that moment, Shokou quickly lifted the flute to her mouth and started to play a song I've never even heard of before.
At the same time, it almost sounded like she was singing too, even though she had her mouth on and was still playing the flute.
As I listened, the song surprisingly was very soothing to me and crystal clear to the point where I could hear words in it.
Calm down o' sacred beast right now
Whom are the one that clings to hate
O' sacred beast thee shall be tamed
Rest is assured by flute's melody
Sleep well until time begins to tell
when shall awaken yet link hands as well
Remain calm and rest for now
Until thee have quieted down...
"Such a pretty song. It almost sounds like a lullaby I felt like I've heard before..." I heard Okami say, making me turn to look at him for a moment.
"I was actually thinking the same thing too. It's almost like a lullaby that only Zoruas and Zoroarks in any other region, including Hisui, would hear and fall asleep to." I replied.
In response, Okami nodded his head in agreement, before we looked back at my daughter.
After Shokou played the song with her flute, the zoroark (Yin transformed into) suddenly started to calm down a little and fell asleep, before the barrier shined brightly and sealed it away in the necklace that was given from Shokou and still surprisingly worn around on Yin's neck.
When it was completely sealed away, Yin was reverted back to normal, and luckily still in her clothes this time, since Luna gave me the summarized explanation on what happened the first time Yin was turned into a Zoroark.
