Luna's POV 💫

"So, off to Ancient Retreat?" Irida asked, shortly after we finished up our conversation with the professor and left the building.

"Yeah. But, right after I see someone and take them with me first..." Yin answered.

I smiled, already knowing who it is and that Yin's referring to.

Heading over to her quarters, while I noticed the doors were completely repaired well, Yin lightly knocked for a moment.

"If you're looking for Yin, she's not here. She's still missing." I heard Nightmare say, sounding a bit dull.

I silently snickered a little, finding it funny how my brother has no idea that Yin's actually here.

"Lemme try something..." I gestured as I looked at Yin.

"Be my guest, Luna." She replied before smiling a bit.

Then I disguised myself as Yin before entering in her quarters.

Once I was inside, I noticed my brother was sitting on the floor, his back facing me, as he was looking at the pokéshi doll and the strange thing that was called a "mechanical fan".

Smirking a little, I changed my Yin disguise's clothes to something that'd embarrass the living daylights out of him.

"Are you staring at the wall again?" I asked as I walked over to my brother.

"Yes and No. Now, shut up, Luna..." He replied, the tone in his voice still remaining the same.

"You're such a hermit..." I sigh a little.

Getting no response, I walked over and stood in front of him.

At first, he wasn't paying attention, until he looked up at me, his face immediately turning dark red.

"Oh my Arceus...LUNA! NO! DROP THAT ILLUSION!" My brother screeched out next.

"Not until you leave~" I teased.

"DROP IT!!"

"Nope! Gotta catch me first!"

"Get back here!!!"

When I started running, I laughed a little and bolted out of Yin's quarters, after reverting back into a Zorua.

"Luna...What did you do to your brother?" Yin asked as she looked at me wearily, once the door was shut.

In response, I told her in her ear, which also made her face turn red as well.

"Luna! What the hell were you thinking, going in there disguised as me, and in that outfit!?" Yin went.

"Hey. At least I made you look really sexy..." I giggled.

"Luna!!" She screeched a little at me as well, before I couldn't contain most of my laughter anymore.

I started laughing hard again, hysterically at this point, while I flopped to the ground on my side.

Grumbling a little, Yin left me alone as she turned to face the door and lightly knocked on it again.

Yin's POV 🌺

"Go away..." I heard Nightmare respond.

"Night, it's really me. Stop being a shrimp and get your big, fuzzy butt out here." I sighed.

No response.

For a moment, I was about to give up and leave, until we heard the sound of footsteps and the floor creaking a little.

Then Nightmare opened the door, not looking at us for a moment.

"I told you already...Yin's not - " He began until he suddenly froze when he looked up at me.

"Hi. Missed me?" I say as he stared in shock.

For a few seconds, silence stretched between us until Nightmare suddenly tackled me into a tight hug, nearly making me smack my head on the ground, as I was startled a little by that sudden reaction.

"Yin!!!" was all he said next, as I noticed there were tears in his eyes a little, when I sat up.

Seeing that, I smiled gently before hugging him back, as I rested my head on his.

"Where were you?! You've been gone for days and I was worried sick!" I heard him say tearfully.

"It's hard to explain, but, I'm alright. I'm here now." I replied before rubbing his back soothingly, as he rested his head on my shoulder.

We remained like this for a little bit before parting the hug, as I wiped the tears away from Nightmare's face, and gave him a light kiss on the nose.

"Please. Don't disappear off without a trace like that again..." He says as he sniffed a little.

"Don't worry. I won't..." I chuckled.

"I was actually about to ask you if you wanted to come with me, because of that."

"Of course." He replied.

I smiled before hugging him again after the both of us got up to our feet.

Then I went inside my quarters for a moment and grabbed the pokéball I caught Nightmare in.

And this time, I made sure to bring some medicine and berries with me, just to be on the safe side.

"Alright. Let's go." I say as I looked at Adaman and Irida.

Then we left the village for Ancient Retreat.

By the time we showed up, Cogita was sitting outside and drinking herself some tea, as expected from her.

"Hm..." I heard Nightmare began as he looked around, while Luna was held in his arms.

"The atmosphere in the air of this area is mysterious...Cozy at the same time too."

"It does, doesn't it?" I replied as I smiled and chuckled a little. "I like it here as well, since it has a nice ring to your thoughts. Reminds me of my previous home, before I fell here in Hisui...Plus, it's nice and quiet, like Obsidian Fields."

Then I gave him a head pat before we walked over to Cogita.

"I see you still have the Zorua and Zoroark from before, lost one." Cogita says as she looked over at me, once we approached her.

"You must be very close, for you to let them out of their pokéballs and walk around freely with you without running away, just like the clan leaders here."

"You're not wrong at all." I replied.

"Is there something you need or wish to know?" She asked.

"Yeah. But, it's about me though..." I answered.

"Go on. I'll listen...You can go into detail if you decide to."

Then I began to explain to her my current situation.

"Human by day as you normally are as always, but turned into a frenzied Zoroark by night, hm? Interesting..." Cogita went before closing her eyes for a moment, once I was done explaining.

"Tell me, lost one...What is your last name? I might have a clue about or might know what the source to your transformations is."

"My last name? Um....."

That's when I was suddenly hit hard with realization.

"Oh no...I must've forgotten my last name, from how long it's been since I fell in Hisui!"

Then my Arc Phone suddenly started beeping, making me take it out and look at it, wondering what it says.

Last name = Kitsune

"Kitsune...?" I thought to myself.

"Yes...I remember now. That's my last name, since the day I was born."

After that, I putted the phone away.

"My last name's Kitsune." I answered.

"Yin Kitsune..." She murmured thoughtfully. "If I'm correct, you might be a descendant to the celestial lineage that me and my ancestors know...The Kitsune line.

Like my ancestors, they had a connection to the legendary pokémon, such as Dialga. Only to some of them, though...However, they do have a powerful connection to Zoruas and Zoroarks.

Just like you, they were born with and able to transform into Zoroarks. Some believed it was a blessing while others believed it was a curse from Arceus themself.

But, there was only one way the Zoroark half of your ancestors' blood could be awakened..."

Right after she mentioned it, I rested my hand on the spot where Nightmare left his mating mark at.

"Yes. That's right...The 'relationship' mark that's on you, as my appropriate way of saying it." Cogita mentioned as she nodded.

"It was believed to be a sacred ritual for couples, to their lineage, since there are some who grew so close and fell in love with their Zoroarks. It's been like that and still is for generations, even though the rituals faded away from existence, as time passed."

"But, why Zoruas and Zoroarks?" I asked.

"Everyone in the Kitsune lineage has a very dark past in their younger years or their current age in their lives. The pasts they have are very similar to the dark pasts the hisuian Zoruas and Zoroarks have, that you could almost call it identical, just by the same energy and level of hatred they share.

Because of that, the Kitsunes understood both pokémon's pain and suffering along with their speech, which started the bonds with them and helping each other in the beginning. Only those connected to the Kitsune lineage are able to fully understand pokémon speech, just like any other human.

Those not part of the line, would only hear pokémon cries instead, even if they understood what they were saying." Cogita replies.
