Dragon Princess

The students lined up by the door. They had begged Maddie to not make them wear the jumpsuits again but she wouldn't hear of it.

The door slid open and Maddie stepped outside, antighost staff up and ready. She glanced one way, then the other, and gave the all clear sign.

Students rushed from behind her and spread out to investigate.

Maddie huffed and went out to make sure they didn't walk to far. "Don't kids ever learn?" She muttered.

Danny stepped out and looked around. He spotted Leroy watching from a distance. Danny waved and the ghost bounded their way. It crouched down next to Danny but he shook his head.

"I'm ok. I can walk on my own now."
Sam and Tucker watched in amusement. Valerie seemed to join them now. She had friends in senior but they weren't chosen. Melissa followed at a distance but eventually left to sightsee.

Valerie looked at the ghost and shivered. "How can you keep it as a pet after what it's done to you?"

Danny smirked. "You're friends with me, aren't you?"

The girl crossed her arms. "You got a point."

Sam's eyes glittered. "I can't wait to see Dora. She said she rebuild the dining room."

Valerie spoke up. "Who is Dora."

Danny smiled smuggly. "The princess of this kingdom."

Valerie looked at Sam in shock. "And you get along well?"

Tucker shrugged. "You'll understand when you meet her."

Jack locked the Fenton Space Craft and they set off through the woods. It used to be burned thanks to Dora's brother Aragon but now it had all grown back and had blossomed to a beautiful forest. Many trees had been cut off though, to make place for more buildings.

Maddie swiped at another bush with her machete and looked in front of herself in shock. Andrew bumped into her when she stopped so suddenly. She ignored him.

Rows of houses lined up before her. A marketplace in the center was crowded with ghosts. It seemed like a small town. She held up her hand to warn the adolescents behind her, not noticing the stacked pile of teenagers who hadn't been able to stop in time.

"Get off me!"

Danny stuck his head from behind the pile, smirking. Tucker held his hand out to him from beneath three students. "Bro, help."

Danny lazily stretched his arm out. He let it flop back and shrugged. "Sorry. Too far."

"Aw common."

Danny walked past him and towards his mom.

Sam stopped to take a picture and Valerie snickered.

Danny looked at his mom, who seemed unsure wether to barge in there and kick their ghostly butt or ask for them to take them to their leader.

"So what are we gonna do?" Danny said. "They seem friendly."

Maddie frowned. Her cap was down and her short red hair were pushed behind her ears. "It could be a trap."

"They don't know we're here. Besides, you could hold them off just fine if they attack."

Maddie smiled. "You really think so, Danny? That's so sweet."

Danny smiled. "Common. Let's go. I've got a good feeling about this one."

Maddie nodded and stepped out. "Wait here until I give the signal."

The teenagers were left behind to untangle themselves and look on as the Fenton parent made her way to the ghosts.

A few ghosts saw her and stopped to whisper to each other. The rest ignored her and kept on with their lifes.

She looked around and inspected their body language. They seemed uninterested in her. She walked up to a woman. "What is this place?"

The ghost looked at her and raised an eyebrow. "You don't know where you are? This is princess Dorathea's kingdom, of course."

"Oh." That information wasn't of much help. "Where is princess Dorathea now?"

The ghost pointed behind her. "In the castle past the bridge. You can't miss it." And she left.

Maddie turned to look the way she had pointed but found buildings in the way. She gave up and turned around. Danny was watching her. She nodded and waved her hand. Danny disappeared from view and came out a few seconds later with the rest of the group.

Jack jumped out and yelled. He held up the Jack o' Nine Tails.

Maddie ran to him. "No. Jack. It's not necessary."

Jack was confused. "It isn't?"

Maddie sighed. "I know this is confusing, Jack. But we don't need to make the ghosts angry. Think about the kids. You could hurt them."

Jack seemed offended.

Maddie waved her hand nonchalantly. "Let's go."

Danny laughed as his parents made their way through the crowds, trying to keep the urge to attack them in. Last time was different. Last time they were surrounded by ghost kids in a school. Now it was a whole village.

The human kids walked forward. They had their weapons in their hands.

Paulina, Star and Melissa ran to the stands. They ooh'ed at the stuff selling.

Sam held up a skull necklace. "What do you say?"

Valerie looked at it critically. "Mmmh. Too real."

Sam pursed her lips but put it back.

Mr. Lancer glanced around himself nervously. "Where exactly are we going, Mrs. Fenton?"

Maddie searched. "To a bridge."

"Why?"

"It leads to a castle."

"So?"

"It's where the princess is...she's the ruler," Maddie added before the teacher could ask anything else.

Maddie approached a man selling many types of food. "Excuse me. Where can I find the bridge to the castle?"

The man pointed. "Down this street to the right and forward."

Maddie nodded her thanks and followed his instructions.

Danny walked around. Leroy trotted close to him, earning a few concerned looks from the ghosts.

He turned to Sam. "Well they left the middle ages behind them but they're certainly not up to date."

"I'm not so sure." Valerie pointed at a teenager playing with a cellphone, the sight looking out of place with the surrounding houses.

There was also a man looking at a television in his living room. In the screen another ghost could be seen  showing Skulker's destroyed island.

Through another window they saw two boys punching at controlers.

Tucker hugged his pda. "I'm so glad there is technology now. I would be so lonely without you."

They walked down a street and soon saw the roof of a castle rise from the tops of the buildings. The students now knew where they were going and rushed to the castle.

They found the bridge. Water flowed gently under it.

The group made their way across, passing many other ghosts who were heading to or from the castle.

They soon reached the door. It was open. They entered to see a large room. It was a breathtaking sight.

The adolescents stared in wonder.

Sam looked around and finally spotted who she was looking for.

Dora walked and supervised the ghosts. Her long light blue dress adorning her form and the dragon necklace as always around her neck. The crown resting on her head. The long braid flowing behind her. She looked up and saw Sam. She smiled.

Before the princess could utter a greeting, Sam made gestures at her. She told her to stay quiet and pointed at the other humans. Dora understood and nodded. She walked forward and approached the gaping humans.

"Greetings."

Maddie looked at the blonde ghost. "Hello. Are you princess Dorathea?"

She nodded. "I am. Welcome to my kingdom. And who are you?"

"Maddie Fenton. This is my husband Jack and these kids are under my custody."

Dora noticed the tone in which Maddie had said it, recognising the threat. She smiled to show she would do nothing against them. "Do not worry. I will not harm them. I think you are not from these parts?"

"Yeah. No shit," Andrew muttered.

Jack shook his head. "We're on a field trip."

Dora raised an eyebrow. "To the Ghost Zone?"

Jack nodded. "To show kids how ghosts are and their natural habitats."

Danny interrupted. "What he means to say is, they wanted us to see ghosts from close up instead of only on the battlefield." He tried to say it so it wouldn't offend Dora. She had a bit of a temper.

Dora recognised Danny but she didn't let it show. She nodded in understandment. "So now you want to see my kingdom. Very well. I shall send someone to give you a tour of our culture and our ways. Leonardo!!"

Leonardo whalsted forward. The kids cringed a bit at his appearance. He had blue skin and horns adorned his head. His deep red eyes looked at them uninterested.

Dora whispered at Maddie: "I know he's not the happiest but he is well educated."

Leonardo pointed to a room. "Please follow me and keep your hands to yourself." And he whaltsed back the way he'd come, leaving the teenagers to scurry after him.

Sam hung back as much as she could until the others had all gone through the door. She turned around and smiled. "Hey Dora. Long time no see."

Dora smiled. "Yes. How have things been."

"Oh same old same old. Has Aragon been bothering you lately?"

Dora shook her head. "He's as happy as ever making a living in the town and working. His necklace is still safe."

Sam laughed, knowing Aragon wasn't happy at all. "Glad to hear it."

They walked to the door in which the others had gone. "So how is it between you and the halfghost?"

Sam blushed. "Danny? Nothing. Why would you think something would be different? How is your love life anyway?"

Dora smirked. "I did not say it had anything to do with love."

Sam scowled.

"But my love life is the same as always. I have no desire in marrying."

Sam nodded and elbowed her. "Too many restrictions?"

They had reached the group and Sam quickly joined them before they noticed she was gone.

Leonardo was explaining a tapestry painting of Dora in dragon form as she stood over the kingdom.

Mr. Lancer furvently taking notes.

"...and so princess Dora defeated prince Aragon with the help of the halfghost and his human friends."

Sam's eyes widened and she looked at Danny. He winced at the ghost's words. He glanced at Sam and pursed his lips.

Maddie frowned at the painting. "I still can't believe that no good ghost scum would help another kingdom. Of course they are ghosts too but isn't he supposed to be half human?"

"Ummm mum. You do realise where you are, right?" Danny reminded his mother.

She stopped, realising what she'd said. "Oh. I'm sorry." Leonardo humphed.  She squinted at the tapestry and pointed at a figure next to the dragon. "Is that the halfa?"

Leonardo shook his head. "That is the human who was the bride to be."

"And that?"

Leonardo looked and saw a skinny figure with pointed hair and a broken necklace in its hand. Next to it lay a man.

"That is the halfghost taking Aragon's dragon necklace."

Maddie leaned forward. "Mmmh."

Sheldon looked at Dora starryeyed. "You can turn into a dragon? That is so cool."

Mikey stepped forward. "Can you show us? Pleasee?"

Kim looked around. Was it just her or were there less kids than before. She gasped. "Where's Chelsea."

James, who heard her, also gasped. "Dash and Kwan are missing too."

Mr. Lancer immediately looked around to see who else was missing. "Richard is gone too."

Jack scowled. "A ghost took them. I knew it."

Dora frowned. "Maybe they have wandered."

There was an inmediate search party. The castle was searched through in a few minutes, but the missing students were nowhere to be found. Neither were they in the village.

Danny rounded a street corner. "Chelseaa!!" He called. Then he stopped. He spotted something. He walked to the end of the street. The houses stopped and a field spread out. The woods starting on the right. But Danny wasn't looking at the plants being grown in the field. Or at the people working in it.

He was staring at something way beyond that. Not very far from this island, floated another one. One they had just passed and Danny had warned them of.

Tucker appeared next to him. "Hey dude. What are you looking at?"

Danny gaped at the dark castle, Pariah's Keep. "They didn't....."
