The small group were restlessly sat in the waiting room, praying for someone to inform them on Phantom soon. Finally, after an hour of constantly checking the clock hung up on the wall, a doctor approached the family members "I'm Doctor Kelly" she introduced as the two adults stood up "we had to give the Phantom some blood transfusion as he had lost a lot of blood but other then that, we've stitched him up and gave him some pain medication" the woman in a white coat explained "he's actually recovering much quicker then any other patient I've ever seen that's been stabbed in the shoulder". That indeed was a surprise. Sabine spoke up first "so...he's going to be okay??" she asked, needing confirmation that the boy wasn't in any danger due to saving her from a knife "he's completely fine, he's actually getting ready to be discharged" that was a massive relief. Doctor Kelly left to see another patient whilst the group went to find their friend; Hera knocked on the door to the private examination room and heard "it's open" and so they entered. They saw that Phantom was sat on the bed, throwing on his shoes; his bloody top wasn't a pleasant sight. As soon as the boy saw who was there, he smiled "hey guy" they returned the kind gesture and greeting "thanks for bringing me to the hospital, although I don't like this place...I don't know what I would have done" Sabine was the first to gently hug the younger teen, followed by Hera and then Anakin who patted him on the back. "Come on, we'll drive you home" Hera stated as they left the examination room "I bet your parents are worried sick" they all noticed how Phantom's face lowered as pain seemed to flash across it; they guessed it was from his shoulder "em...no thanks, I don't live far" the boy admitted "I'll just walk". This confused the family "kid...you've been stabbed!! We can't just let you walk home when you've got a healing injury like that" Kanan exclaimed "besides, Hera won't take no for an answer". He was right of course. 

So with that, they all left the building, hopping into the car and drove off in the directions that Phantom said to go; he sat in the front with Hera driving as usual. Eventually, the teen told them to stop - they were parked just outside a lovely house, smaller then their new one but still had that home feeling - and got out of the car "thanks for the lift" he smiled "see you guys around" and with that, he made his way towards the front door. Hera drove off as Anakin looked at the side mirror and spoke "hold up...what's Phantom doing??" he asked; they all looked at a mirror to see the injured boy walk away from the house he had just claimed was his home and down a dark alley across the road. The woman hit the brakes and was thankful they all had their seat belts on as they each jolted forward "come on!! Let's follow him!!" Kanan exclaimed, worry and confusion strong in his voice; the other three agreed before jumping out of the car and rushing off in the direction that their mysterious friend was last seen. The alleyway was grim, dark and creepy but eventually, the family members spotted Phantom; he had come to a stop, moved a few things that was on the floor lent against the wall of a building and....sat down?? He wrapped his arms around his thin frame and closed his eyes, as if he was about to go to sleep?! 

"Phantom??" Kanan spoke, clearly startling the boy as his eyes shot up and his entire body tensed up "wha...what the hell are guys doing here?!" he exclaimed as he jumped up from where he was sat. Sabine was first to speak "we saw you leave that house and walk down here...what is this place?? Why didn't you go home??" she asked in confusion and slight worry; the boy sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck "well...I guess you could say this is home". All eyes widened as the family members shared a look "you....you're homeless?!" Hera exclaimed earning a nod; her husband spoke this time "what...what about your parents?? Where are they??" Kanan asked, making them all notice how Phantom's face dropped and...darkened?? "I...I don't have parents" he admitted so quietly that they nearly didn't hear it...key word 'nearly'. The boy continued "they died when I was four...been on my own ever since" they couldn't believe their ears!! "so...you've been living on the streets?? All by yourself since you were four years old??" Anakin asked earning a nod. Phantom, clearly uncomfortable, changed the subject "aren't you guys going to go home?? It's pretty late and I know I'm tired" he suggested as he held back a yawn; none of them knew what to say so Hera took it upon herself to speak "well...yeah but...what about you?? Where are you going to stay??". Phantom sighed as he nodded towards where he was previously sat on the ground "here, those boxes will block the wind but not the rain" this confused the family was the there was nothing wrong with the weather, other then....a few grey clouds "by the looks of it, there's gonna be a storm". 

It took everything for Hera and Sabine not to throw up "you're sleeping here?! As in...on the ground in the dirt and broken glass!? In a dark and creepy alleyway where anything could happen!?" Anakin asked in horror, hoping he was wrong. And yet...he wasn't "yeah, it's not as scary as you think, the dirty part doesn't exactly matter" he pointed to his messed and ripped up clothes "I don't care about the glass, I'm not afraid of the dark and lucky for me, I'm a light sleeper so I wake up from the slightest of things"  he explained it "I'm used to it, so your point is??". They really couldn't believe this!! Phantom was acting like this was completely normal!! Kanan realized that's because to him, it was "...you think we're just going to go home?? Knowing that you're out here, sleeping in an alleyway when there's going to be a storm and might get attacked?!" he asked earning a nod "em...yeah". Hera felt her breath get caught in the back of her throat as if she had just been winded "...absolutely not!! We're not just gonna leave you!!" he exclaimed, his family agreeing. Phantom rolled his eyes as he folded his arms across his chest - it was getting colder, that was for sure "really?? What do you suppose I do then??" he asked "because I have no family or friends so I have no one to take me in" it was heart breaking, truly. Kanan shared a look with his wife where they both mentally agreed to what he was about to say.

"Come with us" Anakin and Sabine instantly smiled as they loved the idea and knew Kenobi, Ahsoka and Zeb would too!! Phantom on the other hand...well he looked like he was staring at someone who had two heads "...come again??" his eyes were slightly wide - had he heard the man correct?? "come with us, come live with us" Kanan specified "you'll have a bed, warmth, clean water, edible food, actual clothes...you'll have a home kid, a family...no more surviving" he explained, watching the boy was he seemed to clearly think on the offer; he was also the most shocked he had been in a long time. Phantom finally spoke after a minute "do...do you mean it?? No slave work?? No...no beatings??" although he didn't want to ask, Phantom needed to know; this horrified the family members. What had this boy been through to feel the need to ask such questions?? "You'll have your fair share of chores like everyone else, no slave work" Kanan reassured strongly, especially the next part "and I promise that you will never ever be beaten". Once again, Phantom fell silent as he thought about what he was being offered - he was happy but at the same time...scared. A crack of thunder helped him decided "I...I would...I would like that" that one hesitated statement earned smiles; Hera and Sabine both embraced the boy whilst Anakin patted him on the back. Kanan gave him a quick bone crushing embrace before his wife stated they needed to hurry back to the car before the storm arrived completely; no one needed to be told twice. They reached the car and drove home; Phantom once again had to give directions but within ten minutes, Kenobi, Ahsoka and Zeb greeted them back with their pizza waiting to be reheated in the oven. They were indeed happy yet surprised to see Phantom with their family members; they explained that the boy was going to be living with them from now on. Kenobi asked what was happening with the legal side of things but his brother just said that he and Hera would deal with it later. Right now was pizza time!! 

Once they had all eaten some food, all of the children said good night and went to bed; the adults stayed up and cleaned up whilst speaking about everything that had happened. "Where's Phantom??Kenobi wondered earning two shrugs; Hera left the kitchen and entered the living room to see the young child sat on the floor, back lent against the sofa as he tried to stay awake. She couldn't help but smile at the sight. "Hey Phantom, if you want to go to sleep, you can??" she offered earning a sleepy nod "okay, I'll go get you a blanket and pillow" the woman hurried off to the storage cupboard, retrieved the said items and returned within three minutes. Phantom was already asleep, lay on the floor; Hera placed the pillow under his head ad draped the blanket over his body before planting a gentle kiss on the boys forehead. Soon enough, the three adults followed their children's lead and parted ways to their own rooms - they could't help but think of how strange, scary and exciting their first day in their new home had been.
