Chapter: Twenty-Four

The whole room wasn't able to move, whether it was fear or shock was up for debate. They had all turned to see the family members argue with each other, the young woman was standing up for her own decisions, while the father only wanted to protect her. She didn't need protection any longer, more importantly, she didn't want any protection anymore.

"Your out being something your not? You think you can just put on a costume and stop some crimes as if its that easy Jaedyn," The elder Stark shot back to his daughter, she wanted to hurt him. She wanted to get it through to him that she could handle herself. Jaedyn was engulfed in a blue light and then appeared in front of her father, her hands clenched and wisps started to form along the scars on her body.

"You do it, and you use to be so drunk you couldn't even recognize me," The only reason she spoke such harsh words was in fact to antagonize him. Releasing a heavy breath her eyes narrowed to him, she wanted to push an even farther gap between them. Not her though. "If you can do it, how hard can it be," Spinning on her heels Jaedyn made her way towards the exit, feeling herself start to change, and not for the better.

"Jaedyn Maria!" Using her first and middle name Tony had showed that he wasn't gonna let her get the last word. As both him and his daughter were just as stubborn with each other as they were with normal people.

"Oh shut up!" Jaedyn's voice echoed through the hall, no one spoke. It was almost a warning. Her hand rose and fell quickly, the braces on the girl shined for only a split second before her energy sent Tony back sliding across the floor hitting a wall hard. After she had witnessed what she had done she pulled her hand closed to her chest, shocked. She hadn't wanted to attack him, merely show him she was in control. She wasn't though. When the crew's eyes looked towards her hand she saw the bracelet glowing. Opening her hand slowly she sees this diamond gem in her hand, it had formed there by her powers. It was almost instinct to her but she picked it up out of her hand and tossed it a few feet from her, it expanded.

Within the portal was she saw the door that she had shot the doctor into. The movement beyond the portal made Jaedyn's head snap towards them and around the room. Everyone's eyes were on her. Taking one last look she saw her father scattered on the floor, gripping the back of her head. Black Widow stared to the young woman, speaking under her breath to the director of Shield. Discussing her more than likely. The Captain who thought he had seen everything was standing in surprise as he saw her attack her father. Dr Banner and Agent Coulson who stood farther away from her had even moved against the wall to get out of the other agents way as they started moving towards Jaedyn. She started to get uneasy, and so did the other inside her. Before she could fully comprehend what she was doing, she stepped into the portal and it closed afterwards behind her. Looking at her palm afterwords she saw the glowing scar that ran along her palm, shinning brightly. The glow under her skin faded and when she felt her eyes start to burn she knew something was wrong.

Hitting the wall was what caused Tony to really understand what was happening. She was getting out of control, sure the braces helped control the episodes, it was her who wanted to use the new found power to her own advantage. But as she was frightened and aware of what she had done the girl vanished through the portal. He remained on the floor, eyes glued to where she had been.

"Stark," The director's voice spoke, bringing Anthony back into the reality. Standing up off the floor, he brushed off his clothing and rubbed the back of his head. A slight lump but nothing he couldn't handle.

"You caused this Fury," Tony's voice was lowered and obviously he was hurt by what had happened and what Jaedyn spoke to him. He had decided to take the anger out on the man who gave her the position. "Giving her a job here? You should have just stayed out of her life, she shouldn't be involved."

"Remember who your talking to Stark," Fury's arms crossed over his chest, his eye narrowing to the billionaire. "She's no longer a child, she has a say in what she wants."

"She's my kid!" Tony pointed to himself, he was beyond angry. "My Kid."

"I understand that Anthony, you need to remember that this was her choice. Just as it was her choice to blackmail agent Romanoff, and it's her choice what she does now. We both know what's at stake," The two gentlemen shared a look that held secrets and before Anthony can reply the director gave him an order. "Enough, quit while your ahead," Tony through his hands up grumbling under his breath as he stormed out of the room. The director's eye looked to Steve, telling him, keep an eye on him. He took a breath and rubbed his temple. The stress of the situation was getting rather heavy, dragging the family bonds deeper through the mud.

He barely acts like a father, who is he to tell me what I can and can't do? He's barely involved in my life as it is, he is so focused on Iron Man or the industry. I agree with you, he knows nothing about you anymore. Who is he to have a say in your life? The floor was cold, colder than normal. I almost thought I could see my breath. After a few feet my vision started to blur and I was unable to stand up straight, so I leaned against the wall as I walked. There was humming in my ears that was almost hypnotic, my limbs were not under my control.

"I know you hear me young Jaedyn Stark," Loki. He was calling to me and my feet moved to the sound of his voice, towards a hall and down another. It wasn't me who wanted to go to him though, it was her. "I want to speak with you," Agents passed me, some seemed to step quicker when they realized who I was. "Stop," I heard Loki order me and my body did as instructed. Peaking around a corner I saw two agents guarding the large door. "I'm sure you can figure out a way to pass them Jaedyn," The corner of my lip turned upwards to a smirk and I made my way around the corner.

Slowly walking to the agents they were looking at me, standing straighter. Seeing that I was a woman might have made them uncomfortable, I ran a hand through my shorter hair and sighed when the one on my left spoke.

"Identification," My hands folded behind my back as my eyes flashed blue, I was trapped once more.

"Agent Stark," Once my title was voiced they visibly shifted, both hearing my last name and position in Shield. "Fury said I was to interrogate him and I did have questions I want answered. So, step aside," They shared a look then turned their heads back to me. I hadn't breathed while they were looking at each other, judging if I was telling the truth. But when they nodded and moved out of the way, one swiping his badge on the keypad. Every bone in my body seemed to relax. Moving passed them quickly the door shut behind me and I spotted Loki pacing in his cell. Hearing the door shut he stopped and chuckled seeing me, it was almost too easy. My hand wove and the door handle was crushed, another flash of light beyond the door and the two agent's checked their belts. Raising my hand I saw that I had teleported their badges into my palm. Talented. The glass cage he was in seemed nothing compared to the trapped feeling I felt behind my own eyes.

"Jaedyn," Loki turned to me and walked to the edge of the glass cage. He motioned for me to come closer and my feet obliged. The strange blue hue formed along my skin once more. Every step I took towards the cage the color seemed to get brighter.

"Screw you," I growled lowly, my hands curling to fists as I looked at him. "What did you do to me? What do you want with me?" His grin only got wider. "Tell me!"

"Careful how you speak with me darling. I may be in this cell but I can still toy with you. And if I have to, I can still hurt you," I rolled my eyes and felt a wave of energy roll under my skin. His attempt at threatening me didn't really scare me, I had already been kidnapped and injured before.

"It makes no sense to me, I can't offer you anything you need," I took a step towards the glass and noticed the camera I had looked through earlier was aimed over to me. "And you attacked me in my own home, why?"

"Your more powerful than you think Jaedyn," Focusing on the bench behind him in the cell I dug my nails into my palm blinking once, and as he turned around to face me. I crossed my legs, leaning against the glass wall looking at him, he didn't seem surprised that I teleported in the cage with him. Almost as if he expected it. I watched him swagger towards me, his hands joining behind his back. His eyes stalked my movements, my hands shifting in my lap, fingers ghosting over my palm.'

"Agent Stark, exit the cell," I wove my hand telling them to just back off, I was fine. Looking back to Loki I realized he was a mere few feet from me, but I felt cornered. "Agent Stark- Jaedyn. Get out of the cell. Now," Nick was ordering me, I cringed knowing I was in for it now. "That's an order," Loki's smirk intensified as he heard.

"Seems you have been caught and now we both could be in for trouble," Loki motioned over to the door I had entered through. Dad was standing there, the agents were trying to argue with him, key word trying. "You can leave if you wish, I wouldn't want you to face your keepers wrath," He was joking. but it hit me harder than expected. I felt like a rebellious teenager right now, rebelling against Tony.

"No! I have no keeper, I don't care if I get in trouble. I want answers!" My hands formed fists which then sent the energy towards Loki, he soon lifted up off the ground and was levitating there. I felt my blood start to boil as every emotion I had turned to hate towards everything, and with the anger came the power. "Don't you get it? How can you not see that I hate this! I don't want this power! Take it back." Looking passed Loki, Tony had obviously grown tired of his other tools to open the door and he had grabbed an Iron Man gauntlet. There was a blast that caused me to jump, even though I knew we were safe behind the glass. Dad looked to me seeing what I was doing, my eyes were locked with Loki. My fingers moving in a way that seemed to control what the energy did, clenching my fingers close together tightened my grip. I wanted to bring Loki pain, I wanted to make him hurt like I did. All of the pain that I had gone through with my life, I felt the blood from my injuries dripping off my body, every painful cut, bruise, scar.

Collapsing against the glass Loki dropped as well, lowering himself down onto a knee he saw my eyes, seeing that I was in pain. I couldn't speak, I just felt all the memories flashing behind my eyes. The most painful, my thigh the scar shot horrific jolts of pain through my body. I went to wriggle away from Loki, open a portal, teleport away but I couldn't. The leg that I had injured so many times sent pain up to my right arm and I couldn't move it. It reminded me of the night I was in the hospital for the nerve damage, how I couldn't move it at all and I was terrified. He saw my eyes and how much pain I was in, how scared I was.

"I do see. I have seen, I see you," Loki muttered to me, moving my hair behind my ear as he laid his hand on the part of my leg that held the scar. The sensation that shot through my leg and crept up my body to my arm and down to my finger tips caused the pain to fade. Our eyes locked for the time being, resting his hand upon my open palm my back arched against the floor and my eyes rolled back into my head. Burning.

I wasn't even able to notice that Loki was pulled off of me and was pressed against the glass wall hard. When my eyes returned to normal and my vision did the same I realized I was picked up and set on my feet. The strange thing was that there was no pain in my body, gripping my thigh I felt no sharp pain of the ghost pain. Slowly blinking my vision clear I looked to Loki, he had healed me, it was my brain, memories. Playing tricks on me. As I looked up to Dad who had picked me up and ushered me out of the cell and room I took a last glance at Loki. He wasn't resisting, he was cooperating.

"What were you thinking Jaedyn?! Jaedyn Maria!" Dad wove his hand in front of me to get my attention. "He's a murdered who wants to take control of the world, or did you forget that? Hey!"

"What Stark!?" She said, yanking my arm back from him and vanishing before he could speak again. I was letting her take control, and that wasn't a good thing. I had gone to the place where I was able to let it all go, I was able to take out my anger here. A training room, Natasha and Clint had trained me here. Hand to hand and Archery. Both were useful if I knew what I was fighting, but I don't. Loki was able to get into my head, and he seemed to use things I knew and cared for against me.

I was someone who grew up in not normal circumstances, and I was someone who got to witness their father being plastered all over the news, I was someone who had to go through torture, kidnapping, and deal with it all. But I do know what I am, a survivor and a fighter.

But I will not be seen as an Adult to Tony, I'm his daughter so I'm a baby all my life. I felt my eyes start to glow and finally I let out a sharp scream and sent energy off of my body and sent everything in the room to the walls. The weights, weapon stands, punching bags. Your angry, I can feel that. I know that you don't want to be treated like that. It hurts you.

"Obviously it hurts me." I sighed heavily feeling my body grow heavy. Lowering myself to the floor I reamined on the mat feeling my body start to jolt. It hurt, using so much power. Getting to my feet I used what energy I could muster to return the disheveled room back to its normal position. Feeling eyes on me I rose my hand and lifted a heavy weight and aimed at the direction I felt eyes. Spotting Thor I lowered my hand. I didn't want him to think I was under Loki's spell. "Leave," The tall Asgardian didn't budge. "Listen then. I have a father who already gave me a speech how it was stupid for me to go in the cell, so if that's what your here for. Leave, before I make you," His eyes narrowed to me and he leaned against the door frame, curiously staring at me.

"Loki seems to have an infatuation with you," I scoffed and made another weight rise into the air. He wasn't helping his case for me not to attack him though, all he was doing was antagonize me. "Why is that?"

"Oh isn't that great for me, I have no idea why, maybe because he gave me these abilities?"

"Your abilities are connected with what? It's obvious strength makes you a force to be reckoned with. You can vanish and reappear in different places. Create portals?" I nodded and watched him intently as he began to put pieces together. "Move things with your mind?" Again I nodded.

"My father created these," I rose my arms and set the weights down with my mind. "To try and help me control my outbursts of energy, so far all it does is show that my abilities are connected with my emotions."

"Thor to the bridge, Agent Stark to the lab," Both of us looked up towards the ceiling hearing the loud speakers. I groaned and rubbed my eyes, what were they gonna do. More tests?

"We shall speak later young Stark," He stated and walked out of the room. I rose my hand in on final burst of emotion I set a weight into the wall. Afterwords I opened my palm and focused the energy the best I could without overwhelming myself to create another diamond. Picking it up I tossed it a few feet in front of me. Again it expanded to another portal and I stepped through onto the science floor of the Helicarrier. Glancing at the wall, I saw my distorted reflection. The high shrieking came again and I went to cover my ears, looking at my reflection I saw her blue eyes. Let me have control.

"Fuck off," I grumbled and stuck my hands in my pockets. You soon wont have a choice.

"Now, now. Wait a little longer my darling," I heard Loki's voice in my head again. Passing the lab where Dr. Banner and Tony were I took a heavy breath before I went to enter the room. "Soon my darling," I had it, I punched the wall before the door and saw the slight intent into the metal wall, my hand hurt now. It was nothing compared to the explosion of the drones though. Shaking my head of those thoughts I opened the door and made my way into the room leaning against the wall staring at the two gentlemen.

The Author

Just wanted to say thanks for your time to read this, and I hope you enjoy.

Plus I got all my midterms done for classes, got a Monday exam that I'm studying for soon.

On a strange side, I've been losing my voice which is kind of funny but not at the same.

Anyways, have a good night/day.
