Chapter: Twenty-Eight

Dropping to my knees my eyes started to open slowly. Seeing the sky rain down debris and aliens fly through the sky. Just looking at the sky reminded me that this wasn't my home, and my home was being invaded. I wanted to get up but when I tried I fell back down onto my back. There were steps that came near me and grabbed me softly pulling me up. Again I opened my eyes and Dad held me, the face plate moved away so he could see that I was alright.

"Hi Princess..." He gave me a weak smile to try and convince me I was alright. "Jarvis, do a body scan."

"I'm fine Dad," I muttered and put my hand out to push off of him only to fall back into him. "Maybe not..." The swell of energy overtook my body as Loki spoke to me.

"Jaedyn would you mind..." My eyes changed as he spoke, I groaned and put my hands out in front of me, sending dad back. "If you would be so kind as to take care of your father." Loki gave me his hand helping me up and wrapping an arm around my waist so I could lean on him for support. The two of us walked towards the machine that held the Tesseract. It's hypnotic hum sent ripples on my skin. I trailed my fingers along the machine, the barrier of the stone sent a shock to me. Taking a deep breath, and feeling Loki's hand basically forcing my hand through the barrier I cringed at the small but many cuts that hit my hand at the same time. My hand grabbed the stone and I felt immense, almost infinite power crawling into me. Creating cracks on my skin that started from my arm up my body.

It surprised me, I wasn't scared of the power. It was almost like I welcomed it, I chuckled softly to myself when I realized it didn't hurt. I took a step backwards before my feet started to lift up off the ground. Floating inches off the ground.

"Jaedyn!" I heard Tony yell to me. Don't you dare harm him. Again I laughed, reaching up at the beam my body floated up to it and placed my hand into the beam. The portal expanded and grew brighter in the sky. I was amplifying the portal, that's why Loki needed me. "Jaedyn!" Again I heard my name and slowly lowered back onto the roof, walked to the edge I saw Dad hovering there with his Iron Man plate lowered on his face. He could just tell I wasn't there, not me. "Give me back my daughter."

"You think you really know your daughter?" My hand clenched to fists and I took another step, my toes dangling off the edge of the building. "The daughter who worked for Shield under your nose, the one who liked to go out at night and pretend to be a superhero. The one who hasn't been here this whole time. Your daughter?" I took another step, off the building, to be floating on the ground. My bottom of my feet covered in a blue hue.

"Jae, I know your still in there I need to you to be strong and fight this Princess..." He was pleading to me, foolish mortal. I wanted to yell at him, I wanted to tell him to just leave me alone.

"Your daughter is done for. I will kill her after I fully unleash the Tesseracts power. Your daughter, is dead. This world and it's inhabitants will soon follow."

"I'm sorry about this Jae," Tony said as he rose his hand and shot a blast towards me. With a wave of my hand a piece of metal from the roof flew in front of me to block the attack.

"I'm not," I teleported over to him, kicking his armor hard. "You wouldn't dare hurt your precious Princess..." Vanishing again I used it as my advantage and landed strong kicks to him that sent him backwards. Only for him to adjust himself by his boosters. Extending my hand and bringing it to my chest quickly wrapped his armor in energy and brought him to me. "Come on!" I punched his face plate with enough power to send him somersault backwards.

"I'm not going to fight you Jae," Tony said as he rose his hands palms open towards me.

"Fight me! I know I piss you off!" I yelled, running on air to him, jumping on his armor. He grabbed me by my sides to stop my impact, but I used the telekinetic power I held to amplify the jump and send the two of us to the ground. "You hate me! At least admit it! Admit that you wished you never had a kid! Let me see the father you really are, let me see the man who almost killed me!" He shoved me suddenly off him and I was sent a few yards above him, still falling. My body sizzling with a blue hue to the smoke. Looking at his chest I saw the arc reactor glowing brighter, which only happened when he used his Arc beam. He had used it against me, and it should have killed me. You are welcome for saving your life Little Stark. The Tesseract had saved my life. Suddenly I was struck and was taken over in an instant to teleport myself back onto the roof. The gravel under my body was far from comfortable but it was a solid ground, stable ground. Heavy eyes, loud heart beat, don't want to move...

"Darling..." Loki's voice through my ears and I shot open my eyes. I gripped my chest and felt the slight bruising of the previous blast that had hit me. I rolled over and struggled to get to my knees, my hand rested on the gravel beneath me to steady myself. The blast had been painful, but the Tesseract had absorbed most of the impact. "Come to me," Against my better judgement, I stood up and walked towards Loki's voice. The gravel, feeling like Lego's under my feet, though it was dulled out as Loki kept calling to me. Jumping off the higher balcony I reached the lower one with a telekinetic landing to brace my fall. Loki wore the same armor I saw him materialize in Germany and extended his hand to me. I gave him mine with no hesitation. Looking behind him, I noticed the broken glass of the balcony, I didn't question it even though I was concerned.

"You made all of this happen," The world was being taken over, the buildings were being destroyed and the ground was covered in debris with screaming civilians. He gestured to the army that he had raining down, the reptilian warrior race. A hybrid between organic beings and machines, The Chitauri.

"When we are done here, then what?" I took a breath, glancing at the streets once more. "What will happen?" My eyes flashed blue and I turned to Loki, rubbing my eyes.

"He wants it for himself, you shall not be harmed though, we have a bargain," Loki looked to me a flash of concern crossed his eyes. The firing of weapons that caused explosions drew my attention, the screams that followed could be heard from the top floor of the tower. Tony, Steve, Pepper, Bruce, Natasha, Clint... I cared about them, and I didn't want them to be hurt. Yet they were fighting this, they were the only ones who could stop this. Except Pepper, and I hope she was safe somewhere far from here.

"My king..." I mumbled, Loki looked to me and I continued. "May I go assist some of the stragglers?" Loki almost chuckled as he nodded, moving a strand of my hair behind my ears. I forced a smile and moved to the edge of the building stepping off the safety of the solid ground my feet were again covered in my energy. My arms extended and I felt the wind flow through my unkempt hair. I focused on the streets below and teleported down, inserting myself into what was a battle field. Making my way down the streets, against my will I used my power to create chaos. Lifting cars and throwing them, stepping over bodies of the deceased that had been shot. Those who ran almost stopped to see me lift up a fallen bus and tear it to pieces with the bending of my fingers. Lifting one half of the bus I sent it in front of a crowd of people who had wanted to escape the Chitauri. I smirked and stepped towards the group. Stop please, I'll do anything, just no more death. Please.

"Like I said last time child, you have no say in what I do with the powers now," I screamed out loudly and forced myself to teleport to the next street over and fell to my knee, my hair falling into my eyes.

"Hey girl! You better move!" A man's voice yelled to me, footsteps hit the pavement hard and fast moving towards me. I looked up just in time to see him grab my wrist. His eyes showed he recognized me, he was in a nice suit and tie that seemed vaguely familiar. "I know you. Your Alec's girl aren't you?" He helped me up against my will, wrapping his arms around me. Taking off his suits coat and laying it over my body. "Have you seen Alec? I've called him multiple times," My breath started to pick up, and I was starting to lose my grip on reality. Should I kill him like Alec? Snap his neck?

"You should be running..." I muttered and he saw the wisps began to form on my body. He realized then I wasn't normal, never have been. He stepped away from me and I opened my palm, sending him back into the bus I had split in half. He fell to the ground harshly and struggled to get up.

"Miss Stark?!" He yelled to me, but I sent him into the bus again.

"I shall end this mortal's life like I did his brothers..." I voiced to him, I didn't want to make the tally rise. "Why, because you are upset you weren't able to save everyone you honestly cared about? That boy Jacob. Your father. That agent Alec. This man? You let them all die because you are weak. A weak minded, a weak hearted, with no strength to back up the way she lives child. I see the way they looked to you, they are afraid for you, that you will end up dying. Just like that boy did, you let him walk away with that police officer. You let him get slammed onto the hood of a car by the blast of a robot. You allowed him to die, you let him die. Just as you will let everyone you love, Die."

"I'm sorry..." I said and vanished again, running. I had buttoned the jacket as I ran and created the diamonds, throwing them again and again to make myself move through the debris that crowded my way.

"I'm sorry Dad," I mumbled as I desperately ran, looking for a clear space that wasn't festered with the robots. "I love you..."

"No! I'm almost there!" Dad yelled, he was determined to make it before they blew up. I hated that I was going to leave him alone, though he did have Pepper, and Uncle Rhodey. He wouldn't be alone though he wouldn't have me. He wouldn't have his daughter, his biological family. "I can see you! You're going to be fine," I stopped for a second I truly believed that. I saw the faint red and gold armor flying through the air and smiled. I was going to be fine, I wish I could believe that. Next thing that happened was the drones, exploding. The sound was deafening, and the blast send me back. Hard. I flew into the air and the shrapnel shredded my skin. Gravity did what gravity does and pulled me back down, but instead of the gravel and debris ridden road I hit something hard and large that broke my fall. My head snapped hard onto the metal and then my body rolled onto the ground. Squinting through the haze I landed on the remains of a previously exploded drone and saw the Iron Man armor land and lift a heavy metal piece and then look to me.

Then it all went black.

"Enough!" I yelled and slammed my fist onto the asphalt. Cars, Chitauri, and people flew back. Everything had flown back. I choked out a gasp and dug my nails into my palms. I was back. Wiping the blood from under my nose I stumbled to my feet and coughed up whatever I had in my mouth onto the ground. Tasted of blood so that's what I assumed it was.

The cracks on my skin grew more intense with light. If I looked long enough I could have been blinded by the light. Using the telekinetic gift I flew up into the sky letting out a sharp scream, as loud as I could muster. A wave shot out from me and onto the city streets. The ripples sent all of the Chitauri off the buildings they climbed. Off the corner of my eye I saw a body fly off the building. A bow in his hand, Clint. I formed a diamond then shot it out of my palm quickly and then another. Opening a portal under him then at the ground, he hit the ground harshly but would live. The large Leviathans were sent rolling over in a circle before they landed on their backs.

"This is my body, I control you. You were bestowed upon me, so if you think I'm going to let you take over me without a fight. Your damn wrong. I almost feel sorry for you, I have something worth fighting for and you don't," With each word I spoke, I stepped towards the tower where Loki was located, I wanted revenge and I sure as hell was gonna get it. "You don't know what that means, to have something worth fighting for. I have experienced love, fear, happiness, sadness I have the power over you because I have more to lose than you. And I will not lose it!

All of the power I felt was drawing me towards Stark Tower. I teleported to a rooftop to view it, seeing the blue beam rise into the sky I tried to focus on that energy but it was overwhelming me. As the Chitauri started to climb the roof to get me, I kicked them off the building taking ones gun/spear from them and aimed at a chariot. The one in front held three, the chariot behind that one held Loki. Another coming up behind Loki's held one Chitauri, and a Natasha on it's back controlling it. I was hit from behind and dropped the gun, and rolled away from the Chitauri's blade. A giant green fist gripped the Chitauri and flung him off the building. Afterwords he extended his hand to me, Bruce- The Hulk.

"Little Stark, Good?" The Hulk's voice was slow to get out but he managed to say it. His voice still caused me to shrink, I wouldn't want to be in a fight against him. I nodded once, I was good. The Hulk then pointed to the ground where I saw a glint of an arrow head start to fire at me. I put my hand out and my energy warped around the energy and caused it to slow to a stop. Grabbing the arrow I took off the container attached to it, opening it up I saw an earpiece for me. I smiled, knowing Clint was as good as I was. I took a deep breath as my eyes closed and I realized I would say something I thought I wasn't going to say again.

"Agent Jaedyn Stark reporting," The Hulk jumped off the building and opened my eyes in response to the sudden weight around me that was gone. I teleported to the ground once, found an open shop that had been destroyed and grabbed a red hoodie. The hoodie was large and I had to roll up the sleeves, but it was better than a blood ridden suit coat. Throwing it on I put the hood up, gripping my side, feeling the multiple bruises that were there.

"Jaedyn..." It was Dad. I almost stopped breathing when I heard him say my name, I knew when I was unconscious on top of the roof of Stark Tower that Loki probably threw him through the window.

"I'm sorry. Dad I'm so sor-" When he interrupted I bit my lip hard enough to taste blood again.

"No I'm sorr-" Before he got that out he was interrupted.

"As glad as I am to have such a family moment Jae, Tony. We have bigger matters at hand," I heard Clint through the coms and I smiled again. "We have to finish it, we need to close the portal."

"I can..." I spoke quietly to myself, repeating it again louder. "I can close it. In theory, I amplified the Tesseracts range so I might be able to close it," I teleported again to a higher rooftop to see closer. The tower didn't have Stark written on it anymore, the only thing that was remaining was the A. The beam, still large and intimidating to show everything that I can do.

"It's worth a shot Jaedyn, Anything is really. I'm all out of arrows," I nodded knowing what I had to do. I extended my arms out to the sides of me and fell off the roof, watching the ground began to get closer to me fast. Opening a portal I opened another down the street, landing on the ground my hands bracing my fall. Swiping out from under itself, an alien onto its back. Taking it's blade before it fell and stabbed the sharp stick like weapon into it's chest.

"I'll be there in a second," I clenched my hands again an again before I heard Steve call my name over the coms.

"Jaedyn, I need your help getting some kids out of an over turned bus. I'm at some coffee shot that has seen the worst of it. Though I think the names, Sally's."

"Oh I know that place. I use to go there for an escape during my last hospital visit," I grinned and could only imagine the image of dad's face when he realized that I use to leave the hospital. I let out a laugh and opened a portal then stepped through it to the street that Sally's was on. I saw Steve jump out of a bus with a kid in his arms. Kids were yelling and the bus was smoking, meaning we only had a few minutes to work. Not to mention there was a truck that was speeding right for the bus, the driver had died as far as I could tell.

"Steve!" I yelled to get his attention.

"Jaedyn!" He saw me and diverted his eyes, seeing that I was just wearing a big red hoodie that went just above m knees and some bandage wraps over my body. "Come... Come on we need to help them to safety."

"Captain we need to hurry," I pushed off the ground and landed on the bus grabbing a girl with a young girl with pig-tails. Helping her down into Steve's arms before he went to usher the kids down into the subway. I started to hear a young kid whimpering and Steve caught it as well, he called out and the kid came from behind a car racing over to the Captain. As the truck slammed passed other crashed cars, I focused in on it, hoping I can stop it. Steve grabbed the kid and started to run to the car, before they could reach it the car slammed into the smoking bus and fire engulfed the area. The gasoline had spread an so had the fire, swelling into a ball of orange and red almost engulfing Steve and the kid. I suddenly felt light headed as I stopped the fire right before it hit them, shielding them. The fire increasing in size and shot into the sky, burning a few of the flying carriages that held Chitauri aliens in it. When the chariots crashed I directed the fire to them, watching them burn to a crisp.

"What the hell is going on over there?!" I heard dad yell over the coms. The fire soon died down and I fell onto a car. Steve made sure that the kids were safe before he rushed over to me.

"Easy kid," Steve said, putting an arm around me helping me stand. "Jae helped save some kids, She's fine," I took a deep breath an looked in the sky seeing the red and gold armor Dad wore. I gave a weak wave to him an he did the same.

"Alright, Hood, Let's finish this," Dad said to me and I let my eyes roll back into my head feeling the burning sensation start to come back to me. "Jaedyn?" I didn't respond, feeling the power of the Tesseract start to call me once more. Tempting me. I let out a sharp scream as I shot my eyes open and sent a wave down the street, clearing it of everything that was down it.

"Let's finish this."
