Chapter: Twenty

Young Stark, so talented. Your gift could serve you better than you know. I turned onto the bed and groaned sitting up. I wanted to be in my own bed, warm and comfortable. Instead I was in a cold room with a blanket that barely warmed me. I rubbed my eyes and placed both my hands on either side of me. It took me a minute before I finally stood up off my new bed and changed into the white shirt with dark jeans. I was grateful for the change and washcloth for my face. I was able to take off all my smudged makeup. Afterwords I just returned to the bed and sat down looking at my hands. My body jumping when I felt a hand ghost over me, from my fingertips along my arm up to my cheek. The hand seemed to almost ice cold, sending chills up my spine. Soon I'll see you once again, and it will become clearer as my plan takes affect. I felt my breath hitch in the back of my throat. The voice that was speaking I recognized as the one from my birthday, but it was impossible for him to be here. Come to me darling, to the Gala... Opening my eyes I noticed where I was, I was sitting on the Shield table on the bridge. I hadn't even realized I had done the whole, vanish and reappear thing.

"Jaedyn?" I hopped off the table and brushed off my clothes. Coulson was walking over to me, giving me a quick look over seeing my new outfit. "Are you feeling any better? How did you get here?" I shrugged to both questions and stretched out my limbs.

"We got a hit! Sixty-seven percent match. Wait. Cross match, seventy-nine percent," I heard agent speaking, that drew both Coulson and I over to his computer to see the midnight black air slicked back. His outfit had changed, he seemed to be dressed in more modern clothes. Still it had it's green and gold components.

"Location?" Phil asked, his hands folding behind his back.

"Stuttgart. Germany..." I said quickly, my eyes fixated on the monitor, I hadn't even realized what I had said until I said it. Phil looked to the agent who nodded, confirming what I had said. "I-... I don't know how I know."

"Sir. He's not exactly hiding." Both Phil and the agent looked from me then to the screen once more before we thought what was the next step was going to be. I crossed my arms holding myself still, I felt whatever power I held inside me was festering. The director looked to me, my eyes catching his stare before we both looked to my arks. Ripples of energy were slowly cascading my body. He sighed then looked to over to the table, my eyes following him and seeing Captain Rogers still there.

"Captain, you're up." The Captain stopped staring off into space and nodded when Fury finally gave him a job. I noticed his eyes ghost to me for only a moment. Then he left the room, to probably get his famous uniform. I had heard stories about Captain America when I was younger from dad. And Dad told me that his father, my grandfather would talk for hours about Captain Rogers. Come to me. Join me my darling...

"Shut up..." I said covering my ears and not caring about the look I got from Nick. Come. To. Me. "Stop it," My voice rose louder and that's when the energy that was rippling off of me, shot out. I held my breath and extended my hands. The chairs and papers that I had knocked back I moved my hands slowly back towards the ground. And the chairs were put back onto the ground, the papers were returned to the table tops. I went towards the door afterwords, pushing passed Fury. I wanted to go to the same room once more, but it seemed my body had other plans. A flash of light engulfed me and my lungs were constricted quickly, my eyes were blinded by the sunlight and that's when I realized I was outside on the deck. No one should be out here without a mask due to the high elevation. I looked over to the door that was a few yards from where I was, and when I went to run towards it the blue energy shot from me once more. This time it made a a spiral shape growing bigger until I could see a few silhouettes inside of it. As my vision faded I began to feel hands grab me. I was picked up and taken through the blue spiral, losing conscious in the process.

Two hands shook me awake and I groaned while my eyes opened. Looking around the small empty room, nothing on the walls or in the room. My breathing had instantly quickened as I didn't know where I was. There was string instruments in the distance I could barely make out, I also made out people chatting. I tried to move but I was grabbed and pulled back to the spot I was in. My feet almost stumbling over while I realized I was in a completely different outfit. I wore this strapless gown that was meticulously cut from bright-blue silk and had a fitted bodice with supportive boning that eliminated the need for a bra. I wanted to be in my uniform already I was uncomfortable. The floor-sweeping skirt was enhanced by cascading ruffles that elegantly sway as I would walk. My feet were strapped into these platform ankle strapped sandals that gave me a good four inches of height. On my neck I noticed a stunning tear drop pendant necklace is set in sterling silver, I was completely stunned at what I was , I hadn't worn anything like this since the race when Ivan first attacked.

"Calm yourself my Darling," I looked up and saw the same many who had been on the screen and who attacked me. His black hair was slicked back. He wore a suit with a scarf draped over his coat, green and gold. Piercing eyes staring into mine. I struggled even more now that I realized I was in Germany, how the hell did I get to Germany!? "I said calm," His hands gripped the sides of my face and I immediately went still, out of fear. "Now that your accompanying me we can discuss what I had in mind."

"I don't give a damn what you have in mind. Let me go..." I shook his grip from me and made my way towards the voices. Only for his hand to slide around me, resting on my hip. I groaned softly, my eyes searching for an escape. I was forced to walk with him now, and after a few feet the place around us brightened up. We were at the museum gala. It was decorated with beautiful lights and paintings that were probably to be bought at auction later. We we walked out from a hall and my eyes saw a large amount of people. I felt trapped with his hand on my hip. I wanted to yell, run if I could but in these heels I wouldn't get far. He kept one hand on a cane that he held, made my skin crawl. It was made of gold with a blue stone at the top.

"Come now," He whispered to me, I tried to push off him but my breath hitched in my throat as I turned towards him I realized we were in the middle of dancing people. How had we? "You are not the only one with as you say, gifts," His hand extended to me and I gave him a cold look saying no. As I went to step away my vision started to blur and my hand was gripped, pulling me towards the man. I felt his cold breath run along my skin as his other hand wrapped around resting on my lower back. I gave him a warning with my eyes, showing I wasn't one to piss off. We were in the middle of the gala, people dancing around us. "Shall we dance?" Without my minds consent my lips moved.

"Yes." I rested my hand in his, and away he swept me off. He took the lead and away we moved. Back and forth with the music, him spinning me a few times. It seemed like I was a prisoner behind my own eyes, like I was watching a movie. As the string instruments started to crescendo he dipped me. My breath became shorter as I remembered I was dancing with the enemy. Slowly he brought me back up and we continued to dance around the grand hall.

"Close your eyes," Loki's voice whispered to me, I held my breath as he spoke.

"I'm not closing my eyes," My voice came out a whisper. "I don't trust you. I don't know you. And if these people weren't here I would kick your ass." I felt a tingle along my arm that caused my body to feel lighter and my eyes to softly shut. His grip on me tightens only for a moment as he pulls me closer to him. Lifting me in the air and spinning me before setting me back on the tile.

"You'll soon learn what I'm capable of my darling," I felt his hand move from my waist up along my arm, up to the point where he was cupping my cheek. My eyes opened and his bright blue eyes seemed to be studying my hazel ones. "Last time we met I hadn't introduced myself. You may call me Loki of Asgard." The lavish music soon came to an end and the host found a mic. When I turned to look at the host his hand wasn't on my cheek, matter of fact when I turned back to face the man I was dancing with he wasn't in sight.

"Loki..." I said to myself, my eyes went back to the steps where the host was speaking. That's when my eyes ghosted up to the stairs as I recognized the green and gold pattered scarf flowing down the stairs. He flipped the cane to the other hand and hit the guard, clubbing his head when he went to grab his weapon. Loki was quick to act with his next actions. Grabbing the host and flipping him over onto a marble table. the marble table was of the mythological creature called the Bilchsteim. I knew that because the vast array of tutors that dad got for me taught me about mythology. Chaos had erupted throughout the hall and I quickly tore off the heels that would have only slowed me down. Loki pulled some device from his suit and plunged it onto the speakers eye, the man twisted and cried out for help. But everyone was in a panic, hoping they wouldn't be next. I didn't want to be next either, so I did my best to make it out of the building without being shoved over.

When I reached the street the crowds of people had stopped. When I felt the air start to chill, I turned to see Loki slowly walking out an materialize the same outfit from the other night. Gold armor that lined a black and green uniform. The helmet he wore was gold as well, that had long horns on the top. The people around me were speaking German, but by how quick they were speaking they seemed to be scared. Police cars turned the corner to probably defend the public but one look and Loki shot them with the cane that soon materialized into the scepter. The cars flipped over each other, as he was walking towards the crowd I quickly helped up a woman who had fallen over. She raced over to her friends who were calling her name and I heard a loud bang of the scepter colliding with the concrete.

"Kneel before me," The crowds ignored him, and one after another Loki appeared to surround the frightened people. They all grinned and rose the scepter, encircling the crowd. "I said, Kneel!" Everyone slowly became quiet and kneeled down in front of him. His arms moved out an he smiled to the submissive crowd. "Is this not simpler? Is this not your natural state? It's the unspoken truth of humanity, that you crave subjugation. The bright lure of freedom diminishes your life's joy in a mad scramble for power, for identity. You were made to be ruled. In the end, you will always kneel."

As the words resonated throughout the kneeling crowd, an elder man refused to kneel and stood up. I looked to him in shock, he dared to stand against a man who had no boundaries. The scepters energy rippled along the ground and I could feel it under my skin start to mimic the ripple. My eyes locked to the older man, and I clenched my fists trying to hold myself together.

"Not to men like you," The elder man said, he was German obviously because of the accent that he spoke with. The elder man had a glare in his eyes to Loki. Loki shifted his weight to look at the man, a coldness in his eyes.

"There are no men like me," Loki said, a cocky grin on his lips. I rolled my eyes, egotistical and he wants to rule the earth, seems familiar.

"There are always men like you," The older man retorted to Loki, his brows furrowed and his glare gave some insight showing he had been through worse than him.

"Look to your elder, people," Loki began, raising the scepter, the tip powering up glowing slightly. He was planning on executing him with the blast from the scepter. I was about to shove him out of the way but just as the beam shot out it was redirected by the shield. The shot bounced from the shield back to Loki, knocking him onto the ground. I thought my eyes were being fooled as I saw Captain America clad in his red, white and blue uniform. The whole crowd started to push pass him an I, while Loki began to get his balance.

"You know the last time I was in Germany and saw a man standing above everybody else, we ended up disagreeing." I began to usher people away, my eyes catching the Captains only for a moment. Loki looked uneasy as the Captain picked up his shield.

"The soldier, a man out of time." Loki said a sly smirk crossing his lips. His blue eyes found my hazel ones and I knew he had a few tricks up his sleeve.

"I'm not the one whose out of time." From above Captain Rogers a jet arrived, the machine gun pointing at Loki. Natasha was in the pilots seat, in control of the machine gun. Both Natasha and Steve saw me and their eyes locked with mine, they saw both fear and anger in mine.

"Loki, drop the weapon and stand down." Natasha spoke over a speaker and like lighting, Loki sent a blast up to the jet. Natasha swerved around it just in time, giving the Captain the good time to throw his shield at Loki. They both began to duke it out, Loki threw Rogers to the ground and threw his shield, Loki hit it away easily. The Captain was good at blocking and hitting Loki, almost like a boxer. When Loki knocked Steve to his knee, Loki stood over him, pointing the scepter's tip on the Captain's helmet.

"Kneel." Loki ordered, I shook my head and focused my energy to Loki. My bare feet hit the pavement fast and hard, I raced towards the two men and threw my hands out towards Loki. The power within me shot out my hands, sending Loki back to the steps. I had dropped to my knee in the process but it showed Loki that I was able to control the energy. I was far from a master but I was certainly getting better. The Captain got onto his feet and gave me a surprised look. My hands still glowing blue, I clenched my hands over an over again to try and make the energy fade. Loki caught my eyesight and he saw the emotion that crossed my face, this whole situation was frightening me. I watched as Loki moved to stand but I put my right hand out, the energy swelling up again. Suddenly the speaker of the jet cut to AC/DC's Shoot to Thrill. I loved the song and I knew that Dad loved it too.

"Agent Romanoff, did you miss me?" I recognized the voice instantly, the Captain and Loki both looked up to the jet. I saw the Iron Man suit fly through the night sky. As Loki stood again, he was shot right back down to the ground. I took a deep breath feeling a whole lot safer now that Loki was under control. Just as I started to relax he vanished, appearing behind me, gripping my throat hard. I clawed at his hand as I was slowly lifted up off the ground.

"Jaedyn..." My father's Iron Man helmet retracted and I saw a worried face.

"I see you recognize my darling here, man of Iron..." I used whatever strength I had to dig my nails into Loki's arms. Loki's free hand gripped my waist to stop me from flailing, my skin crawled at his touch.

"Take your hands off my Daughter." I saw my dad lift his hand up to use Jarvis for the targeting system to aim to Loki. My vision started to darken at the loss of oxygen. I cried out and Loki dropped me, I fell to my knees and turned to face Loki. His body was being engulfed in my energy, the blue glow covering his body. I hesitantly stood up and advanced towards Loki.

"I am not yours," My voice seemed to echo. I could feel myself being overwhelmed with the energy, my eyes suddenly started to burn. "Screw you!" The energy surged through my body, shooting off of me, a blue silhouette of myself hit Loki back. I tore the green necklace that matched his armor and suit he wore and threw it at him. His gift.

"Make your move, Reindeer Games," Dad smoke lowly, his eyes hadn't left me. The color dimmed on my body but the wisps were still hovering around me. When dad landed the suit, every piece of weapon that he had in the suit came out and aimed it at Loki. Loki, slowly rose his hands, surrendering to all of them. His armor and helmet materialized away and he looked to me. "Good move, Jaedyn. Get behind me."

"Your daughter is extraordinary." Loki's voice seemed to echo allowed and in my head. I covered my ears and whimpered at his words. Dad's Helmet plate dispersed and he saw how I had changed.

"You are really asking to be blown to bits now aren't you Reindeer Games," I hit his armor and rolled my eyes, they started to burn soon after.

"Mr. Stark." Captain nodded to my dad, I felt Loki's eyes never leaving my body.

"Captain," Dad nodded back the Captain and then he looked to me. Running his iron armored hand through my shortened hair. "You cut your hair, why?"

"I... I needed a change, it kept getting grabbed." My hands ran through my shortened hair, I was still getting use to it and I would hate for dad to not like it. "It doesn't look bad does it?"

"It looks good, makes you look older," I went to move towards the area where the jet landed. "Let's get you home yea?" I nodded agreeing with him. I held my arms close to me in hopes of making myself warmer but in the crisp German cold I doubt that was going to happen. I picked up my dropped heels and started to walk again. Tripping over my own feet not after a yard of walking.

"Dad," I muttered under my breath. "Dad," My voice raising a bit higher, my whole body started to shake. "Tony!" When I yelled the power shot and flipped a nearby bench that was across the street and I started to grip at my chest. Dad turned to me in an instant and without a second through he lifted me into his arms.

"Don't look or even think about my daughter. If you do, You'll be lucky if I don't do more than just blast you back into the stairs." I felt the power of the thrusters of the Iron boots and then more air hit me. I wasn't able to keep my eyes open for so long as both my eyes and my body were burning.

"I'm sorry Dad," I mumbled under my breath against the armor, resting my eyes until we reached the jet where I was set on a seat and strapped in.

"You have no reason for being sorry Princess, Christ. I was so worried about you, I had no idea where you had gone," I slowly sat up against protest from Dad, my bare feet touching the icy metal of the jet. "Your my daughter and you vanished. That's what made me so worried. Are you alright?"

"I'm not sure what I am anymore Dad..." I watched the other file into the jet. The Captain brought Loki onto the ship, in handcuffs. Loki was chained to the seat, and when Natasha looked back from the cockpit, she saw me. Quickly she walked back and grabbed me a blanket, wrapping it around me. "I'm fine Natasha... I think," She smoothed out my hair and gave me a soft look, as if it was her being empathetic. "Come on I just want to go home..." She nodded and gave me a soft smile before she went back over to the cockpit. Starting up the jet again making our way back towards the base. Towards home.
