CHAPTER 3

"Everyone at school is quite curious why Iris still hasn't shown up today, especially Theo of course." Said Elizabeth, she leaned on the door frame and watched students pass by. When she spoke she couldn't help rolling her eyes when she said Theo's name

Principal GreatHill had his fingers crossed on his desk as he asked, "And what did you say?"

She turned her gaze on him, shrugged and answered, "What could I say, I lied that I saw her this morning and it was why I answered 'Present' when Ms. Terry Dove called out her name. She did not suspect anything since I always answer in her place and no ever bothers to see if she's truly there; except that Theo had checked this time and told Ms. Terry about it. Luckily I got her to think that Iris might come later and she accepted. Only Theo kept attempting to shoot lasers at me with his eyes, throughout the whole math lesson." She sighed

GreatHill nodded for a time, he seemed to be thinking about everything she said. He was still starring into space when he said, "Unfortunately, we still haven't contacted her family members to announce the bad news, but Mrs. Harding will take care of it. Tomorrow, we will announce it to the students, that way Theo might think he has nothing else to look for, and will give it a rest... hopefully." He added hesitantly

She scoffed in disbelief, "I hope so too, because to be honest he is getting irritating. (Sighs) Anyways I need to get to class before he actually looks for me too." She said through an exasperated exhale

"Hum indeed, and find the time to prepare yourself for the summoning Elizabeth, it is very important that you prepare mentally for it " he warned

She nodded and before leaving the office she promised, "I will sir."

Once again Principal GreatHill winced, he really felt like something was wrong; but what could it mean even the Spell Caster sensed it too but had no idea what it was. Perhaps they were just stressed about the possession.
"Or we're getting too old." He thought humorously

As soon as Elizabeth reached her classroom the lesson started, Theo kept starting menacingly at her whenever she turned to look at him and truly it annoyed Elizabeth. If only she could call the council already, she had to prepare for the most important day of her life and yet this worthless mortal was disturbing her.

But finally after a while everything became quiet as everyone got busy with their classwork. Secretly Elizabeth prepared her mind for what was to come while reading a text from her history book.
As for Theo, well he wasn't starring at her anymore, in fact his whole attention was on a sort of string he gently twirled around his finger. The way he seemed so amazed by the string made Elizabeth wonder what it really was.

She gasped silently when the thought occurred to her that he could have found it in the principal's office earlier. She was even about to tell the History teacher when suddenly there came a scream for a far away classroom, followed by many shrieks and shouting which made her classmates jump from their seats.

They all excitedly ran for the door but Mr. Reymond stopped them from going out. He stretched his arm out and yelled to the students, "Alright, all you remain in this class and on your seats; Elizabeth and I will see what the matter is, meanwhile um...Darling!"

"Yes Mr. Hex..."

"...You're in charge, make sure no one leaves this room and I want names." He ordered

"Yes sir, you have my word sir; I totally will sir..." Squealed Darling excitedly, she already took out a book to write Delinquent names on it

The others all sulked since they would miss out on the drama taking place below, only Theo took his seat quickly and calmly watched his classmates drag their feet to their seats. Once all were seated and Darling nodded towards Mr. Reymond promising she'll handle the classroom, he turned to Elizabeth and said, "Let's go." And with that he went out the classroom with Elizabeth right behind him

Joe crossed his arm arrogantly and voiced, "How come Elizabeth gets to go, that's so unfair!"

"Argh Elizabeth is a good too shoe man, remember? Besides stay here and chill with us, at least we won't have class for a while...sweet!" Happily said Eric, he leaned back against his chair and crossed his legs on the table before kicking his shoes off.

Already all the boys took out their phones (though it wasn't allowed), they connected to the school's Wi-Fi and began fighting each other on the same game. Each with their legs on the table and their books on the floor.

As Amy began to apply make-up to her face, she realized that Theo wasn't on the opposite seat from hers where he always sat, so she yelled, "Hey like, where is Theo...Oh my word he left, but I didn't even see him go?!" She exclaimed while looking around

Everyone looked around for him but he was gone with his backpack and his seat neatly tucked under his table, as if school had been over. And they all wonders how he managed to sneak past them without anyone seeing him go?

"Oh yippie...Delinquent name number UNO, written down!" Exclaimed Darling in glee and she wrote his name in her book in deep red. She sighed lovingly as she looked at her Delinquent book before looking at the boys with a cheeky grin as she said, "So who's next?"

It seemed today Elizabeth wouldn't have time to do anything, "Do you know where that scream cane from Reymond?"

They were both descending the stairs to reach wherever the commotion had been, and he said, "I believe it's from the ninth grade, I wonder what..."
Just the the screams sounded again and this time it was louder than before. They began to run towards the sounds, Mr Reymond was ahead of Elizabeth so he reached the end of the stairs case faster before getting in the ninth grade's door.

He waited for Elizabeth to catch up to him before opening the door, and when he did they both gasped. There was a boy Elizabeth knew was called Henry, he was the youngest, kindest most peaceful boy she knew and yet he was fighting with his English professor Mr. Brian Dine.
H

e had a pair of scissors in his hand and was attempting to stab his professor, who was trying to protect himself with a book!

What was surprising was that Henry was quite short while Mr. Brian was nearly as tall as GreatHill which is really tall. Yet here was the professor using a book as a shield while screaming for help.
His 18 students were also screaming, they hid under their tables or chairs while holding on to each other and kept moving around whenever Henry was close.

Elizabeth And Mr. Reymond we're so shocked by the scene that they didn't react immediately. They wondered what could've angered Henry to such an extent that he'd try to stab a professor. But Elizabeth knew it wasn't normal, there was definitely something wrong.

Just then the teacher screamed helplessly for help because Henry had picked up a chair taller than him and was about to bring it down on him. What was strange was how deviously the little Henry grinned as he prepared to do so.
Elizabeth wondered, "Since when could Henry pick up his own chair, let alone with one arm?" She thought in disbelief since Henry couldn't even carry four of his small books but now he was carrying a heavy wooden chair with do much ease.

Reymond dashed to stop Henry, he grabbed the chair away while Elizabeth snuck behind Henry so she could grab the scissors he held. Only when she tried to snatch it way, she realized he didn't let go. She looked bewildered at his sudden strength but he only sniggered cunningly. She tried pulling it out his grasp but his hold on it was too strong.
Even when she used both her hands and dug her heels in the ground before pulling with as much strength as she could fathom, Henry's grip didn't loosen at all.
She was now grinding her teeth as she gave it one powerful pull but once again Henry only smile and held on with only one hand.

Me Reymond led the frightened professor and his students out the class while Elizabeth still attempted to snatch away the pair of scissors. But suddenly she exclaimed, "Whoa...!" when Henry used her hold on the scissors to pull her roughly so she was now face to face with him.
At that moment her eyes widened when she saw his hazel brown eyes turn dark black, even his pupils faded away into darkness. Mysterious veins popped out his eyes and ran down his cheeks, making Elizabeth grimace in revolution.

Her expression only made the morphed boy show a toothy smile, with his hold on the scissors, he pulled Elizabeth even closer so that she stared right into his creepy eyes. He sounded like an olden days pirate except his voice echoed when he warned, "Don't play with the dead Lassie; you are not my level." And right then he looked down at her as if she were nothing

Elizabeth had stopped breathing and seemed paralysed by the being looking at her. This was the first time she witnessed a possession; and to be honest, it frightened her. Henry looked more like a nightmare than a ninth grader.
Just then, in the blink of an eye he used his grip on the scissors to throw Elizabeth away. Mr. Reymond screamed in alarm, "ELIZABETH!"
She had flown across the room; knocked herself into several tables before her back met with the wall mercilessly, it took all her air out her lungs and she moaned when her Captain's quarters reached the ground.

Worried, Mr Reymond ran towards and released a little relieved breath when she somehow managed to get up, though she groaned with each effort. She had bruises on her arms, her back throbbed but she'd knew she'd be fine.

"Goodness Elizabeth, are you alright?"

She nodded while bending her back a bit and she winced (so did Mr. Reymond) when he heard a loud 'CRACK' from her back.
Now that he was certain Elizabeth was not too badly hurt, he rushed towards Henry who had been patiently waiting for them. He didn't want to hurt Henry but they had to knock him out so later they could extract whatever was making him act like this.

Once Mr. Reymond was close enough, he swung his fisted hand ready to give Henry a good blew but the latter just flipped backwards so that he avoided the blow while his feet rose and knocked Mr. Reymond's chin.
Mr. Reymond staggered backwards, he rubbed his aching chin and could feel tears in his eyes, never had he thought Henry's small tiny feet could cause him to be in such excruciating pain.

As if the pain refused to go away and only increased Mr. Reymond fell on his knees and held his poor red chin. Henry laughed at him mockingly, he shook his head with a happy smile on his lips and took the pen he carried in the front pocket of his school shirt.

By the time Mr. Reymond looked up, he gasped when he saw Henry's evil smile as he brought the pen down, ready to stab Mr. Reymond's chest. But imagine his surprise when a smile formed on his lips before he fell on his back and rolled over.
Just then behind Mr. Reymond Elizabeth came into view. She was way up in the air and had a chair in her hands. By the time Henry snapped out of his shock and wanted to move, it was too late and with a warrior cry, Elizabeth viciously brought the chair down on Henry, knocking him out cold.

Just as she landed on her feet, the principal entered the classroom. Elizabeth stood next to Henry's body, she lightly kicked it with her foot, awaiting to see if he'd wake up again but after a moment she realized he really was unconscious and she relaxed.
Mr. Reymond came beside her ad clasped her shoulder, "Well done Elizabeth you did a fine job." He congratulated

"Yeah, I do hope I didn't hurt him too much. And you Reymond, how's your chin?" She asked as she threw the remain of the chair before looking at him with concern

Mr. Reymond smiled, he patted her head kindly and assured, "Honestly the pain had already began to wear off, I simply pretended so Henry could focus on me, I knew you'd figure a way to knock him down." He explained and patted her head again

"Well thanks to your jolly good idea, Henry has been neutrilized." Said GreatHill
He bent down beside Henry's unconscious body, he rolled him on his back and opened his eyelids. They weren't black, yellow or red so he was dormant for now but he knew once he'd awake, he'd be active again.

"We must take him to Mrs. Harding at once." He spoke quickly and was soon out the class with little Henry in his arms
Behind him were the other two, Elizabeth looked back at the chaotic state of the class and looked back at Henry; she couldn't believe this little fellow was the cause of it all.

She smiled a bit when some nosy students spotted the principal holding the bruised Henry, they probably came to see the show but had arrived too late, now they had their mouths opened wide and their eyes out and soon they ran back to their classrooms. Elizabeth sighed, this would surely make this week's tip gossip, she then started looking around and exhaled in relief when she didn't see Theo.
With all that happened he would likely bother her more, especially if he had seen her a amazing leap in the air; of course that was nothing to what her kind could do.

She thought back at her day, she had seen Iris's dead body after putting a curse on her. Theo was set on discovering what happened and now she just witnessed a possession. And all that before her spirit summoning, she wondered if she even had enough strength to face her summoning.

She felt Mr. Reymond's eyes on her and looked up at him, he smiled reassuringly and promised, "Do not worry Elizabeth everything will be alright, don't focus on all these problems, remember that you are our solution."

She gave him a grateful smile, "Thank you Reymond, I guess I am simply...nervous for tonight."
She put her orange hair on one side and stroked it like she always did when she was anxious.

Reymond rubbed her shoulder soothingly, and both of them followed the principal in silence.
They soon reached the principal's office and all stepped inside, once Principal GreatHill closed the door, he turned to them both and said, "If we can trap this possession then there won't be a need for a summoning, and everything will be settled, so start your prayers."

Elizabeth noticed how hopeful Reymond looked at the idea of not needing a summoning and her heart sank. She wanted a summoning, she wanted to be a Vessel Carrier like her father and prove to herself that she could be greater than him. How could she do that if the possession ended before they could summon a spirit?
No, they could pray for it to be over, she would pray that it continued at least till tomorrow. By then, she'd be an official Vessel Carrier and her life would finally begin.

Theo stood outside the ninth grade's classroom and was hiding behind a pillar. Right now he couldn't believe what he saw, Henry the kindest boy in school had just fought with his professor. He threw Elizabeth across the room as if she were made of paper and instead of fainting like most women, she not only got up but was able to use a chair to jump 10m HIGH; before smashing poor Henry with a chair!

Okay so maybe Henry had been a bit brutal but they had killed him, (no way could his frail boy survive after such a blow to his head). They had killed a student and yet they walked innocently down the hallway carrying his body as if it were a funeral ceremony.

He had known this school was strange from the moment he first registered, but killing someone, A KID! And worse, the principal didn't do anything, he even seemed proud of what they did which completely baffled Theo. He would've followed them in his office if he wasn't worried he'd be next, like who know how many students they had killed over the years? What if every teacher here was a murderer, was he in enemy territory?

Of course there was a possibility that Henry was only knocked out but then why would they take him to the Principal's office instead of the school's hospital?

And why had Henry acted so violently, he couldn't bear killing ants and cried whenever a frog was dissected so Theo didn't know what to think about the sudden change.
And Elizabeth, did she practice Karate or was she Hercules in a woman's version? He couldn't understand how anyone could jump so high, it almost seemed as if she had flown, and the strangest thing was that neither Mr. Reymond nor the principal looked the tiniest bit surprised, almost like it was to be expected.

Now he knew there was something suspicious about those three, and he'd get to the bottom of it, but for moment he'd get to class before his classmates would look for him. Especially since he had an important cell structure to hand in, in just a bit.

Thankfully, there was only an hour of school left, then he'd find out who's hair he found in the principal's office.
And for the world's sake, where was Iris? She still hadn't shown up and that was really odd. Though everyone was allowed to fall sick and stay at home or miss a day just because they felt like it, only he knew that Iris wasn't that kind, meaning he also had that to look into, but for now...

He took his camera and looked at the photos he took, his lips formed a cunning smile, maybe he couldn't write this in the school newspaper but at least he'd have proof of what he witnessed when he'd confront Elizabeth one day.
He had a photo of Henry when he threw Elizabeth, he had a photo of how Henry kicked Mr. Reymond on the chin and the last one was when she jumped like the amazing Hulk. The photo was a bit blurry but it was easy to recognize that the one jumping with a chair was Elizabeth.

Finally he put his camera in his bag and looked around, there was no one in sight so quickly he silently ran to the stairs but instead of climbing it, he stood beside the banister and jumped, he landed on it with his two feet.
He crouched a little before leaving up again and once again he landed on the banister of the stair above. He kept jumping like this, getting higher and higher until he reached the staircase leading to his classroom. Now he held on to the banister above the one he was stepping on.
Once his hands had a firm hold he started swinging his legs like a monkey, he swung harder and harder and his gaze was only on the open window beyond the banister parallel to the one he previously had his feet on.

Once he had enough speed, he gave one last push and released his hands, his body leaped over the steps until he landed like a cat on the banister in front of the window, and without fearing the 30 M fall were he to fail or the 7m space between him and the window, he bent a bit then made an elegant dive.

He went threw the window gracefully and as he was reaching the ground, he rolled on the floor until he stood on one knee and looked quietly at his classmates go on about their business; no one heard him come in.
He silently made his way to his chair and gently took his seat. He took out the strand of hair, put his bag on the floor and carefully played with the strand, knowing that soon someone would notice him and gasp.
