jungkook groaned, struggling to open his eyes and rolling his head back in pain and fatigue. the back of his skull was throbbing like mad, and spots formed at the corners of his vision every time he even blinked. 

attempting to push himself up with all the force he could muster, he grunted and successfully got back up onto his feet to observe his surroundings. the first thing he thought of was to search for his phone but sighed when he noticed that it got taken away. 

the room he was in was extremely small, dark, cold and had no sources of light anywhere. in the corner, leaning against the stone wall was a worn out jimin with arms wrapped around his knees that were brought up to his chest. 

jungkook shook his head to no one in particular, letting himself slide back down onto the dusty cement ground when he came to the conclusion that there was nothing they could do anyways. the man who captured them is one in control, and they are merely resorted to being pawns for now. 

if they try to escape and get caught, who knows if they'll get to live to see the daylight of tomorrow?

"why don't i just take you to him instead, jeon jungkook?"

the man's chilling words suddenly came back to the ravenette, echoing in his ears again and again in a torturous loop. 

jungkook wasn't a genius, but he knew that they were captured for a reason, and that reason being heavily linked to taehyung's disappearance. 

luckily, jimin soon began to stir awake, alarming jungkook to immediately rush over to the older male. "jimin-hyung?" he softly spoke as he was not sure if the walls of the place were soundproof or not, and also because he didn't want the perpetrator to know that they're already awake.

jimin yawned and proceeded to do a short stretch, staying quietly still for a few seconds before widening his eyes when he remembered the situation they were caught in. 

"w-where are we?" the orange-haired boy asked, tone slightly wavering but nevertheless retained a calm posture like before. 

"i'm... not sure," jungkook responded, eyeing the area with a frown. "but i think we'll be getting answers soon enough. although, i am now sure of one thing."

"what?"

"taehyung is close by. once we figure out where this place is, we can probably save him," jungkook stated. "at least we can hope."

"i see," jimin mumbles, getting off from the floor and dusting his pants off. "well, we certainly aren't going to get the answers we need if we just sit here all day with high hopes, yeah? the answers are most likely not just going to come to us."

"i guess you're right," the younger muttered.

"have you tried looking for any kinds of doors or windows? it is pretty dark in here but there's no guarantee that there aren't any hidden contraptions or those things," jimin said.

"no, i haven't. i figured it would be useless even if we did find any doors," the other male admitted with a shrug.

jimin scoffed. "young one, opening new doors is the key to success," he declared. jungkook stayed silent after that.

with that, the pair goes on to run their fingers across the freezing cold walls of the room to see if there are any locks or levers or keypads of some sorts.

it seemed like an entire year passed for jungkook before he heard jimin gasp rather loudly. "what is it?" jungkook questioned while turning his head around to see what the elder has gotten into.

"i-i think i found a lever!" jimin announced with a stutter. jungkook's heart skipped a beat as he instantly ran over to jimin to inspect the lever he discovered. it was really a legitimate lever.

without any hesitation whatsoever, jungkook quickly pulled the lever down and flinched as it caused an overly audible screech. "fuck, this is bad," he cursed as he realized that the man who kidnapped them most likely heard the commotion. "let's hurry." 

the two lads hurriedly threw the large door open and sprinted straight down the corridor before them, not giving a care about where it leads to or where they're going. they just ran, ran, and ran until their legs could no longer handle it.

"why are you guys running away?"

an eerily familiar voice made both jungkook and jimin stop in their little marathon. 

"why leave so early? i thought you guys wanted to see me."
