Utility Closet
A/N I'm literally writing this on a bus coming back from a basketball tournament game so don't mind me it'll probably look sloppy as I am bouncing all over the place. But I am dedicated to posting daily chapters, and I shall not fail to provide to you.

There she stood, her body full of holes. Everyone was staring at her in disbelief, for this shouldn't be possible. There was no chance of her surviving, so how was she standing there before them?
Her clothes were stained in blood, torn open around various punctures in her body. Blood drizzled from her lips, pooling onto the floor at her feet. I'm fact, she was drenched in her own blood. Looking at her physical state, it was clear that there was no way she should even be alive.
She spit some blood from her mouth, proving herself against the doorframe trying to breathe.
"I..." she spit more blood from her mouth, her body now shaking, "I survived the outside."
Ami's legs then buckled from beneath her and she collapsed to the floor. She didn't move again after that. And Stella... Stella was crying in agony.
Peter didn't know how to process what had just happened. Ami was alive, or rather, had survived the night. Now, she'd collapsed dead on the floor. But she was there. She nearly made it. Which meant one thing
It was possible to survive Dr. Braunt's game.
Panicked spread throughout the students. Some swarmed Ami's body, desperately hoping she was still alive. Others, such as Peter, stayed put. It was difficult to realize that this was in fact reality. This was real. Ami was back, and even if she'd barely made it before dying back in the room, she had brought hope back with her. She told them there was a chance they could make it out of this hell alive.
God this bus ride makin me sick.
Though still in shock, the students began to make a new plan. They had to. Though they weren't sure what to do with Ami's body, of course. They sort of just picked her up and put her on her old mat, covering her with a sheet so that they didn't have to see what a mangled and bloody mess she was any longer.
They made a plan for the day, hoping it would be enough to stop another child from being taken. First, they split everyone up into groups of three at random. Peter ended up being separated from MJ, though she was paired with Jason and another kid so he had some trust that she'd be protected. Peter was with Greydon and Terrance's little brother, Corvan.
The groups would split off from the main group when Dr. Braunt took them to their activity of the day. Each group was given a goal to meet, or a mission. Some had to stay with Dr. Braunt, knowing that if he followed his usual pattern, he'd take them to wherever he'd taken Ami last night. That room would surely have clues about this place.
The other groups were left to scout the place. Peter, Greydon, and Corvan however, were supposed to find the utility closet filled with weapons that Jason and Greydon had run into yesterday. If they could figure out what system of guarding the closet was, they could have hopes of stealing the contents inside. Anything of protection would be of use to them.
They went to breakfast and Braunt delivered a short speech about the scientific research they'd be doing that day. Something about rabbits. But it would have nothing to do with Peter, as he wouldn't be joining the research that day.
After breakfast, Braunt lead them to wherever he'd taken Ami last night. Before they got there however, Peter broke off the group and gathered Corvan and Greydon. They snuck away, careful to not let Braunt notice they'd disappeared. They hid themselves in a divot in the wall, flattening their backs to it until they were sure they were the only ones left in the hall.
"You guys good?" Peter asked.
"I'm great. Just watched a girl die right in front of me, and now I'm about to find a way to raid a closet full of murder weapons. It's a fantastic day so far." Greydon said flatly. At this, the author realized he hadn't described Greydon's appearance, so he decided to do so now. Greydon was a Hispanic boy from the senior class. His dark brown hair was shaved on he sides, with two thin racing stripes cut shorter than the rest. His eyes were a stern stormy grey, sharp and judgmental in his gaze. One of his eyebrows had a slit in it, and his face almost always wore a cruel smile.
"So do you know how to get to the closet from here?" Corvan asked. He, like Terrance, had curly dirty blonde hair and a freckled his face. Hai ears had Peter's attention, for he had a large amount of piercings in them. Each ear had a large gage in the lobe, two piercings on his upper lobes, mid helix, industrials, daiths within the ear, a tragus, and two odd earrings above each industrial which hooked up over his ears like claws. He also wore large rectangular glasses, and always breathed through his mouth.
"I can try and get us there, but I'm not sure how exactly. And Ethan- Iisan brought up a good point yesterday about the fact that we may have stumbled upon it by chance, when there happened to not be anyone guarding it." Greydon explained.
"Why put guns in a utility closet?" Peter asked.
"It just looks like a utility closet from the outside." Greydon said. "Inside, it's much bigger. It probably should have guards. Jason and I were just lucky."
"Is there anything out here ... we should worry about?" Corvan asked. "Besides Braunt and the other people that is."
"No. Not really." Greydon shrugged. Peter felt anxious.
"Well actually..." Peter began. "That's not really uh... true."
"What do you mean?" Greydon asked.
"I saw something yesterday. While I was running the loop." Peter admitted. "It was like... a ... it was human, but it was not. I mean- it was hard to recognize as human at first."
"A monster?" Corvan asked. "Did it attack you?"
"No, it was still. Like it was a robot and shut down. It was in a confinement."
"Then why worry about it?" Greydon said.
"Because if Dr. Braunt can kill people with a lizard or a few cats, imagine what he could do with that thing I saw." Peter replied.
"Ah. Right." Corvan mumbled.
"Shit." Greydon ran a hand through his hair. "Just tell us if we get near... wherever it is you found it. I don't even want to see that thing."
"Got it." Peter nodded.
"Should we go then? Braunt will notice kids are missing soon and come looking, I'm sure of it." Corvan stammered.
"Alright. It's this way." Greydon nodded in the direction they'd just come from. "Near the loop you ran, Peter."
"Let's be quick." Peter said quietly and he three headed off for the closet of guns and shovels.
Guns and roses heh
Musik
Peter began recognizing where they were. This place was a maze of halls and doors, but this was the place he'd run last night to ward off the staff. And just around the corner, if her remembered right, was where that door to the other hall was. And in that other hall, was a monster.
"There it is." Greydon whispered, pulling the two boys up to the wall to stay hidden. "There's no one guarding it."
"Again?"
"Maybe it's trapped." Corvan suggested.
"Nah. I stole a gun last time."
"What?!" Corvan exclaimed in a whisper.
"Shh!" Greydon hissed. "Bet I can steal another?"
"You don't need another gun!" Peter seethed. "We can't trust this. Something should be set up to protect it. Surely they realize what teenagers are willing to do."
"Like kill?" Corvan asked. "I wouldn't kill anyone. Ever."
"Yeah. Like kill." Greydon chuckled. "That guy i shot yesterday... I still feel no remorse. I want to get the hell out of here."
"You shot a guy?!" Corvan exclaimed. "Is be ok?!"
"He's dead, Corvan." Peter replied.
"What the heck?!"
"Sophomores." Greydon rolled his eyes.
"You're- what?!" Corvan died inside.
"No one's here." Greydon said once again. "I'm gonna investigate it."
"If you steal another gun I swear to-"
"I'm not stealing a gun." Greydon promised. "Just gonna check it out."
Greydon crept up to the closet and looked around. Meanwhile a Peter's eyes scanned the area for a security camera. This whole time he'd been here, he had yet to see a single security camera, which was odd. Yet somehow, Braunt had footage of the deaths of students the looked to be from a security camera of sorts. Peter could only assume that there were hidden cameras. He'd just have to find out where they were.
"It's all clear. There's nothing." Greydon said and opened the door. "These dumbasses didn't even lock the door. It's like they wanted us to steal weapons."
"Then Dr. Braunt probably knows we're doing this." Peter stated. "This... this is a game."
"Screw it, I'm stealing a gun." Greydon said, taking a large hunting gun out of the closet.
"Do you know how to shoot that?" Corvan asked.
"No." Greydon said, propping it up against a wall. "I don't hunt. I live in Queens."
"Here let me see those." Corvan said, joining Greydo with a fascination for the weapons. Greydon pulled out a pistol, something much easier to use for him. Likely what he'd shot the man yesterday with.
"Guys, you're sure there's nothing set up to keep us away from the guns?" Peter asked.
"Shovels!" Greydon exclaimed happily, completely ignoring Peter.
"Seriously, someone could find us. There's probably security not the way right now."
"I wonder if Iisan can teach me how to use a knife." Corvan said to himself.
"Since when does Iisan have knife skills?" Greydon snorted.
"He has a switchblade!"
"That means nothing." Greydon sneered. He put the hunting gun back in the closet. "I'll come back for you darling."
"Hey um- I think someone's coming." Corvan suddenly stopped what he was doing.
"Shit!" Greydon shut the door and raised the pistol in his hand, pointing it in the direction the sound of footsteps came from.
"Run-" Corvan blurred out, tugging on Greydon's shirt. Greydon hesitated before turning and sprinting down the hall with the other two away from the peruser. They were being chased, Peter didn't have to even look behind himself to figure that much.
Greydon took the lead, barreling down the maze of hallways as fast as he could. Corvan was the slowest of them, but he could still run fairly fast. He was an athlete like his brother, though he wasn't built for sprints.
Greydon slide across a hall and tore open a door. Someone had fired a gun which made a hole in the wall next to Greydon's head.
"Get in get in get in!" Greydon said, practically shoving Corvan and Peter through the door and slamming it behind him.
"Greydon!" Peter exclaimed as he looked around himself.
"What?! Run!" Greydon was about to continue his escape but Peter stopped him.
"You dumb- THIS IS WHERE THE MONSTER IS!" Peter freaked out.
"YOU DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING NIMROD!"
"WELL IM SORRY I HAD BULLETS FLYING FOR MY HEAD!"
"BOTH OF YOU SHUT IT!" Corvan interjected.
"Now we're trapped cause you're an idiot who didn't tell me-" Greydon began.
"I didn't realize where we were, ok?!" Peter argued.
"Oh god if we die because of you, I'll kill you."
"How does that work?" Peter said.
"Wanna find out?" Greydon raised his gun threateningly.
"Don't shoot him!" Corvan said. "What's wrong with- both of you!?"
"Relax your ear holes." Greydon rolled his eyes. "Im not shooting anyone. The safety is on."
"You had the safety on while we were being chased by someone shooting at us?" Peter smacked his forehead.
"I didn't remember to take it off."
"Right. Right."
They heard a door open. Peter froze, and felt his heart nearly leap from his chest. The door made a creaking sound, and is was just a short distance from the front of them. It was the door Peter had opened when he saw the monster.
"Shit." Peter cursed.
"Oh god. We're fucked." Greydon said and pointed his gun at the open door.
