WARNING: honestly if you can't handle graphic depictions why on earth are you still reading this?

"Have you ever read Sweet Home?" Jason asked.

"The webcomic?" Corvan replied.

"Yeah. The webcomic." Jason said.

"Yeah. I have." Corvan said.

"I haven't." Peter said.

"Well... it's about this high school kid... named Hyun Cha." Jason said. "And the world... is ending... And everyone will die. These monsters... look just like the ones from that comic. I wonder... were they ever human?"

Everyone was in quite some shock at that moment. No one could really will themselves to move. As they'd started to move from the closet not even five minutes ago, Iisan fell. And when he fell, some items of weaponry within the closet had also taken a dive to the floor. With that sound... the monsters knew exactly where Peter and his gang were.

They're coming.

They're already here.

They ranged in size but for the most part, all the creatures were tall and thin. Their heads looks stretched out, their foreheads enormous and their eyes hollow and vacant. Their mouths hung open, with blood dried around their lips. If you were to squint so that your vision would blur, they were almost human.

"If they were, they aren't now." Iisan said sourly. He was propped up against Terrance so that he could stand, as his wound caused him pain whenever he walked. Terrance was glowing, again, this time out of fear.

"Where do we go?" Corvan asked meekly. There wasn't anywhere they really could go. At the end of the hall stood a gang of monsters, and at the other end, was the presence of something none of them had the courage to look at.

"I-" Peter was terrified,  "I-I don't know."

"Give me that gun." Iisan demanded, pointing to one of the guns that had fallen from the closet. None of the monsters were moving, they all just stared at them as if waiting for something. Peter hesitantly moved closer to the closet and picked up the gun.

"H-Here.." he said and handed it to Iisan, picking up another for himself. Jason had his blood stained shovel in his hands, Terrance was preoccupied with supporting Iisan, and Corvan... Corvan was sweating. A lot. In fact, he radiated an intense amount of heat. The mutant boy may actually stand a chance if he could melt the monsters. If.

Peter took the chance to glance back at the other end of the hall. There stood something worse than the monsters.

Dr. Braunt.

"I see you met the deadly walkers." Dr. Braun grinned. Immediately everyone (except Terrance) looked over their shoulders to see him.

"You bastard." Jason growled. "You- I- FUCK YOU!"

"Wow Jason, so creative." Greydon said in Peter's mind. At least, that's definitely something he would have said.

"The guns done so much against them, as your friends found out the hard way." Dr. Braunt smiled to himself.

"Wh-what does that mean?!" Corvan asked. "WHAT HAPPENED?!"

"I'm disappointed, honestly." Dr. Braunt chuckled. "I thought the mutants could survive the deadly walkers at least. Of course, the normals died immediately. Mara Olowe almost got away but, really, that was just a loss of luck for her."

"Mara..." Peter muttered. Wasn't she with MJ?! He thought. Did MJ- ...

"That Levy girl could really do much either." Dr. Braunt shrugged. "She can make small objects float, so really, she was useless. In fact, you guys managed to put most of the weakest mutants together in one group. Honestly, that's bad planning."

"SHUT UP!" Iisan bellowed and threw his hand that didn't have a gun out. He'd pushed himself away from Terrence who was now glowing even brighter. Dr. Braunt, just like last night, was immediately thrown back into a wall by some invisible force created by Iisan.

"I'd try that on the deadly walkers instead if I were you." Dr. Braunt grimaced, looking beaten and sore.

"There's something I want to try first." Iisan said darkly, raising his gun. Dr. Braunt didn't do anything to resist, it was as if he wanted Iisan to pull the trigger. The bullet flew, blowing a hole straight through Dr. Braunt's skull. His brains as well as bits of flesh and blood splattered against the wall behind him. His body fell to the ground, his eyes wide and stunned.

"Well... shit Iisan." Jason whistled.

"I've wanted to do that for a while now." Iisan grumbled. He grew faint and his legs buckled beneath him. Terrance caught him, bringing him back right. Iisan used Terrance as a crutch once again.

"Be careful." Terrance's cooed.

"Hey um..." Corvan looked back at the deadly walkers. "In sweet home... didn't the monsters try eating people?"

"Well- they rather tried spreading their disease by basically eating people but-" Jason turned around. "SHIT! GREYDON!"

A couple of the deadly walkers were devouring Greydon's flesh from his very bones. His face was gone, and the creatures used long purplish tongues to suck blood from his throat. Jason charged after them with his shovel raised above his head. He struck one upside the jaw, and another directly in the mouth.

"Get off him you fu-"

A deadly walker grabbed Jason's shoulder's, promptly shooting its long cylinder tongue from it's mouth into Jason's, shoving it down his throat. Jason struggled, now being suspended into the air and unable to breathe. He gagged, dropping his shovel and kicking at the creature frantically.

"Jason!" Iisan hollered, using his powered to throw the deadly walker back. It let go of Jason, it's head blowing up entirely from Iisan's attack. It's blood spewed all over Jason, the walls, and the floor as it fell dead to the floor. Jason crumpled to his knees.

"Jason!" Corvan rushed forward, fending off the other deadly walkers which Jason had already hit with his shovel. The intense heat coming from the boy's body burned the skin of the deadly walkers as he touched them. They hissed and backed away angrily. Corvan couldn't cook himself down to touch Jason, but he'd forgotten this and grabbed him anyways.

I'm ironically listening to "Burn me" by the Coathangers- what is life-

"HHNNG!" Jason yelped as Corvan sat him up against the blood splattered wall next to Greydon.

"Sorry! Sorry!" Corvan let go of him. His clothes looked like they'd been scorched by fire where Corvan had grabbed him. "You ok?"

Blood sputtered from Jason's mouth as a response. It endlessly pooled from his lips, causing Jason to choke up even more blood which splattered on Corvan's face and glasses.

"Jason!" Peter slid up next to Corvan and Jason. Jason shuddered with each inhale, spitting out blood when he exhaled. "Jason it's alright!"

Jason smiled, for some reason. He couldn't speak, and he could hardly breath now. There was too much of his own blood in his mouth. They couldn't get him to a hospital, no one could fix this. He started the tear up, coming to the realization that this was the end for him.

"Jason?" Terrance helped to bring Iisan over.

The deadly walkers sitting there like 🧍🧍🧍

"What's happening?" Terrance asked.

"... Jason?" Iisan had worry in his eyes, an expression Peter certainly never expected to see on the boy, especially in concern for Jason. He reached out a hand, grabbing Jason's in his own. "Hey, Jason." He shook his hand shortly, to keep Jason awake.

Jason had stopped coughing and spitting my out blood. He just allowed it to well up in his mouth and drizzle out on its own. He'd given up the fight to breathe.

"Hey, Jason!" Iisan shook his hand again. "Stay with me!" Jason was still.

"Jason!" Corvan shrieked. The deadly walkers hissed behind them.

"Jason please!" Iisan pleaded. "Get up!"

"We gotta get out of here!" Peter said, trying to pull the others back to their feet. "Now!"

"No!" Corvan exclaimed.

"He's dead! We have to go!" Peter said, pulling Corvan off the ground. His hands burned from touching him, but he was too high on adrenaline to feel the pain of it. "He's with Greydon now, alright? He'll be ok."

"Come on." Terrance said, picking Iisan up. The goth was now silently crying, trying to hide his face from the others. Peter picked up the gun and shot at a few of the deadly walkers. Bullets did nothing.

So they ran. The remaining four of them ran as fast as they could.

With the knowledge of Mara's group being slaughtered, they didn't have much hope for the remaining students. Iisan said they were all powerful mutants, and hopefully they could make it out alive with what little students remained. But the horrible truth was, there were still others. Those children they'd seen, they would all die.

MJ was dead.

"What do we do now?!" Corvan asked. Iisan and Peter had guns, as Terrance obviously couldn't shoot one and Corvan kept melting the guns in his hands when he tried to hold them. He was struggling to get his body to cool down.

"Find the others? If they're alive." Peter answered.

"Or we get the hell out of here!" Iisan exclaimed. "I don't want to leave them behind but- they're probably dead anyways!"

"There's still a chance they're alive!" Terrance said. Iisan was slowing them down, struggling to run with the wound in his back. So Terrance opted to carry him in his arms, though now he lacked someone to help guide him.

"So they're scouting an exit, right? If they found one, maybe they're back in the room!" Corvan said.

"Yeah maybe-" Peter rounded a corner and nearly collapsed from how abruptly he came to a stop.

"Or... something went wrong." Iisan said, as Terrance carried him around the corner as well. On the floor before Peter, was Cat Danvers. The wall next to her had a giant hole torn through it. Her hands were bruised and bloody.

"Cat... is dead?" Corvan said. There had been a lot of death around them that day. Stumbling upon another body in the process of it all shouldn't have been a surprise yet it made them all freeze up anyways.

"She probably ripped that hole in the wall, judging by the state of her hands." Iisan said, pointing the the wall.

"How could she have done something like that?" Peter asked.

"She's got inhuman strength." Iisan answered.

"Like Spider-Man. I've seen him catch a bus with his bare hands, Cat could have done something like that easily." Corvan said. Peter felt a pain in his heart. A guilt that Spider-Man couldn't save them.

"Why do you think she broke the wall then?" Peter asked as he pulled her body out of the middle of the floor. He checked her pulse to confirm she was dead.

"Desperate to find an escape, probably." Iisan said. "What's on the other side?"

"It's a dark room." Corvan said, peeking inside. "I can't see."

"Terrance," Iisan said and on cue, Terrance began to glow, approaching the wall as he did so. Corvan squinted into the hole.

"It's still tough to say." Corvan said, beads of sweat evaporating from his skin.  Peter helped guide Terrance through the hole in the wall, so that he could light up whatever was on the other side.

"It looks like a massive warehouse." Iisan reported. Peter and Corvan followed them through the wall. Indeed, the place looked like an abandoned warehouse.

"What if... Cat wasn't trying to get out of the hall but.... Out of here?" Corvan said numbly, as they made out figures in the distance of the warehouse, illuminated by Terrance's light.

"Oh... crap." Peter groaned. He tugged Terrance back to the rip in the wall they'd come through, only to stumble upon another dead body.

"Lauren..." Corvan froze up. Her body was mauled, and her face was almost unrecognizable. But it was without a doubt, Lauren.

"Oh no..." Peter said.

"She's dead too. Why am I surprised?" Iisan said. His eyes were full of tears again.

"I'm sorry Iisan." Peter said. "She was your best friend-"

"Well not anymore she isn't." Iisan said, looking away. He hid his face in Terrance's neck. "Just leave her. The night walkers are coming."

Peter nodded and returned to the hole in the wall, avoiding stepping on her body. Suddenly the ground around them began to vibrate, or rather, rumble. The night walkers were running. And there were hundreds of them.

"GET OUT! OUT! NOW!" Iisan said, climbing quickly out of Terrance's arms and grabbing the glowing boy's hand to run with him. To their horror, they couldn't get out of the warehouse. On the other side of the wall, Cat was being devoured by a gang of night walkers.

"We're gonna die!" Corvan exclaimed, backing away from the wall. "I-I don't want to die!"

"Hang on-" Iisan said, raising a hand out to the night walkers.

Terrance was glowing brightly, even though Iisan needed shadows for his mutant abilities to work. But the ceiling, high above them, was a looming pit of darkness. And that's what Iisan had is attention fixated on.

"Cover your heads."

Btw this is what monster Jason compares the deadly walkers to in the beginning.

That's not what the deadly walkers look like exactly but they're pretty close. Art credit to Carnby Kim and Youngchan Hwang on WEBTOON.
